I loved the selection of pastries they offered--the pandan pastry was definitely my favorite. My husband ordered the drip coffee over ice, and I got the Vietnamese iced coffee. Both coffees were excellent. The Vietnamese coffee was a bit too sweet for my taste, and it was served in a very small glass. I think it would have been even better with a little more coffee to balance the sweetness. For lunch, we ordered the kimbap and the egg bowl, and both dishes were outstanding. The only downside was that it took about 35 minutes for our food to arrive. However, the cafe was extremely busy and clearly backed up, so we didn't mind the wait too much--especially since the food was so delicious. The indoor space is quite small, but they do offer outdoor seating. I can't wait to come back and try more of their Asian-inspired pastries and dishes. What a fantastic addition to the neighborhood!

Everyone was super friendly and helpful for it being so early in the morning on a Sunday. I got the cold brew and a breakfast sandwich. They make the food to order, so there is a short wait but it was well worth it. Food was amazing and the cold brew was delicious. I actually went back to ask what brand of coffee they used for it - it was that good! It's Black Acres Roastery if you are curious! Plenty of seating and they have water available for self service right out front.

We got there just after 10:00 a.m. and placed our order. A few items weren't available -- no salmon/lox, and I don't think they could do an omelet either -- but it really wasn't a big deal. We ended up with coffee, fresh OJ, and Vernon's Breakfast Sandwich, which came with fried egg and ham on an English-style muffin. Everything was fresh, perfectly cooked, and exactly what we were in the mood for. The setup is casual -- order at the counter, grab a seat, and wait for your name to be called. The café is at street level with bar seating along the wall if you want to look out onto the street, plus regular seating throughout. The person behind the counter was pleasant, the décor felt modern, and right outside the doors there's a cool vintage jukebox that adds a fun touch. If you're in the neighborhood, it's definitely worth checking out.

Like maybe order something you can eat on the go tbh. I ordered a strawberry croffle and a strawberry matcha tea latte. I crushed both of them because it was delicious. The whipped topping on the croffle wasn't thick and grainy or too light to where it instantly melted. It kept a shape while being light and fluffy and not overly sweet. The strawberry matcha latte also was pretty good. All in all I'd recommend this spot to anyone walking around the neighborhood and indulging in some shopping in the area.

Both of the ladies working were friendly and helpful answering any questions I have and giving their recommendationsZ The croissant alone will ensure that I return to Cafe Luli. It was not overly sweet but was so delicious and soft. I wasn't the biggest fan of the cookie, but I am not typically a thin and crispy cookie girl. The Alfajores were also a sweet treat, melting in your mouth. The ambiance is very cute. It feels homey and smells so good when you walk in. The prices are comparable to other coffee shops in my opinion. There appears to be an upstairs area but I didn't not explore that area today as I was running around doing errands.

I was here for an art show. it's really cool charmed kitchen partners with Baltimore Art Gallery to change out the art on their walls, and it's available for sale and it's all to support local artists. It is a little hipster bougie and the wine selection isn't bad. It's a little bit more mainstream. They have a lot of beer. I found a couple natural wines. The Portuguese wine that I normally buy for $9 was $14, but again there's a little bit of a service fee here since it's like a local corner store. I was so happy to see that I could buy Taharka brother's ice cream here because they recently pulled out a Broadway market, and I was having to drive outside of fells point but now I can just walk to this convenience store! The food has always been solid here, but I was so incredibly shocked at the grilled chicken Caesar salad honestly, I'm still thinking about the wrap and I want to get another one desperately. The house salad, which is an upcharge of four dollars was really delicious as well. Such a solid spot and they do lots of promos like on Wednesdays you can buy pasta and get a glass of wine for one cent. It's really such a cool place!

I don't know exactly what happened with…read morethe renovations at their old location, but at some point Carma's moved inside the Space Telescope Science Institute (which says "Steven Muller Building" out front) on the Johns Hopkins campus: 3700 San Martin Drive. Basically, when you enter the building through the main entrance, you walk past security and keep turning right until you end up in a cafeteria--and in there you'll find the new Carma's. It's basically just a campus eatery now, as it's deep in this campus building and there isn't a lot of publicly accessible parking nearby. The cozy vibes of the original spot are nowhere to be found, unfortunately. But it's the same kitchen and bakery as before! The menu has changed a lot, but certain staples remain. I used to frequent Carma's all the time as a JHU student and then occasionally returned for a good meal and hit of nostalgia as a recent grad, before the pandemic started. I visited recently and ordered the same grilled cheese and tomato soup that was my comfort meal back in the day, and the same hot chai that brought me warmth in so many chilly Baltimore winters. So if you loved Carma's before, just know it's still there to visit. It's hard to recommend as a meeting place for anyone who's not a JHU student/employee/alumnus seeking nostalgia, due to the new location. But I know many people have been asking what happened to Carma's and this is your answer: it's still around! The service was Prompt and friendly. I spoke with the owners (I believe) they just opened 4 days ago! They were excited to serve me and made sure I got my drink quickly. this place just had their grand opening on saturday. i went with a few friends so i got to sample a…read morefew different things. the people that work here are very friendly and attentive. i ordered the pistachio milk tea, which came with pistachio butter on the inside of the cup, and some coffee cake. the coffee cake was quite good! the boba wasn't hard at all and had a great flavor. the tea had a weak pistachio flavor but the butter in the cup made up for it. i also tried the taro boba, which is EASILY the best taro around. the sunset bliss fruit tea tasted weirdly like the blue scooby doo gummies (a good thing). the seating selection here is quite small, so expect to take things to go if you're going at a busy time. this will surely become my go-to boba place.
