They just don't do a great job maintaining their space. The community here is nice (which is important!) but doesn't make up for the absolutely horrible customer service I received here. No one is ever at the front desk. Tried to cancel my membership for months - visited their location and left notes at the front desk, called multiple times, left voicemails, texted, and even messaged them on Instagram. So, if you're looking for a dirty gym to be a part of for the rest of your life this is it! Given the expensive membership price, horrible customer service, and unhygienic facilities, I would look elsewhere for your gym needs.

Then the equipment looks good by site but when you actually start utilizing it you realize half their cable machine need grease and feel a weird grinding/ unwanted tension. (Most Importantly!!!) I thought it was just my personal experience, so i normally wouldn't chime in or give my 2 cents on the problem. If you care to look at the negative reviews they tend to all have the same issues! They tend to avoid you when you say you're cancelling your gym membership, you can't do it on their website (that alone is insane and bad customer service as a whole)and you can't do it in person because they are rarely staffed at normal staffing hours! Given this, i've called somewhere close to 20 times in the passed 5 months i've been trying to cancel my membership! i've FINALLY got a hold of them today, canceled my my membership. I genuinely feel like i've gotten my money stolen from this gym( they're has been reviews stating the exact same thing that the feel they have been getting robbed by this gym, that should tell you something) And all they care to do about the problem(s) is wish you the "best" Absolutely pitiful! smh!

Before working with a coach, I had done a lot of group classes and worked out independently. However, working 1:1 with someone who is super knowledgeable and encouraging has been a game changer in my consistency and motivation. Rachel is a badass powerlifter and kind human so she makes twice weekly workouts, dare I say, enjoyable! I love the flexibility that Volition gives to work with a trainer but also to workout independently. Rachel's programming for these independent days is clear and makes it easy stick to my goals. This has helped me to get comfortable training on my own. The gym is always clean, people are welcoming, there is plenty of equipment and it makes it easy to get an early workout done effectively and efficiently. They call constantly, trying to push us into meeting with their "fitness manager," which is just a sales trap for outrageously overpriced personal training sessions nobody asked for. It feels less like a gym and more like a telemarketer with dumbbells. The place is filthy. My boyfriend used the men's showers one time and will never do it again. He said the floors were covered in this greenish slime, slippery even with shower shoes. Health-code-who? The machines aren't much better. One of them literally loosens the pin while you use it, so you're constantly resetting it unless you want to get launched into orbit. (If I wanted a surprise flight, I'd at least book Delta. That's the joke. Don't hurt me.) On top of that, their "cheap" membership isn't actually cheap. You can't sign up for the basic tier without paying over $100 in fees, BUT during the trial they'll happily steer you into the $30/month plan because that one has no sign-up fees. Classic bait-and-switch. Their class schedule is a joke unless you're unemployed or live in a different time dimension. Almost everything is during normal work hours. And the massage chairs they brag about? They're basically mall massage chairs someone threw a purple LED on. If you only need a place to swipe in and lift some weights, and you don't mind grime, upsells, or random mechanical hazards, then maybe it's worth it. For anyone expecting something clean, honest, or remotely professional... absolutely not.

Shapes is an all women's gym with a brand new location in Meridian ID. I signed up with a group of girlfriends last week and have been thanking myself ever since. Shapes has the kindest employees, trainers & management and every single employee who I've interacted with has been super warm, welcoming and engaged with the members who come in. They're so anxious to help and support women and you can tel they genuinely love what they do! I've tried group classes with Cheryl, Marissa and April and all 3 have been phenomenal and upbeat with a contagious, positive approach to leading group classes with ages, bodies and abilities of all types. I've appreciated that all 3 of these teachers have shared modifications for allowing guests to go at either an easier or harder pace, depending on their varying needs. My favorite part of the group classes has been that the workout room has positive affirmations and mantras posted on the walls that are so encouraging and lifting. Who doesn't need to be reminded of their worth as they work hard, making time for themselves! The price is unbeatable for what they offer - gym equipment to run, lift & bike, an infrared sauna, a stocked locker room with showers and essentials, full access to all group classes with a variety of classes and times starting early in the morning and often even having night time classes offered too!
