I was just informed that in order to adjust my policy I'd have to renew it for the original amount first. After they had taken my money the agent said call back the next day and they can adjust it for the next period, being 3 months later but no refund on the 3 moths I just paid for if I decide to go down to liability only. Every time I tried to voice my concerns about their seemingly questionable practices the agent interrupted me mid sentence. Customer service is horrible! read more

I had shopped around when I purchased the bike but got really high quotes for coverage (Really!), so I didn't insure it and paid to have the bike delivered to me. Called Culver Insurance first thing in the morning and Alejandra took my info and the bikes info and called me back after a few minutes with a great quote on comprehensive coverage (less than half of what I got quoted by Harley-Davidson even for limited coverage). I'm not sure what's going on. But when I bought my heritage back in 2019 and had two more bikes.Since then, everything was great with this company. I sold my last bike last year in 2023 in October and just got me another one recently and called to talk to the person I spoke to last time. Unfortunately, she was not there no longer working for the company. Instead, I got someone who I could hardly hear on the phone, and when I gave all my information, I I was told I will get a call back in a few hours. I explained to her that I needed the bike insured right away. As I needed to drive it away from where I was at. However, this did not seem to phase this person. I'm not sure what happened to Culver's insurance, but they have gone. We way downhill. Needless to say, I found someone else and went with them. Last time I was dealing with culver's i spoke to someone named diana lopez, who was very always responsive, very fast, and now this person that I spoke to really made me feel unwanted. read more

Please read all the negative reviews of Culver before signing up with them. Many people aren't aware that Culver charges a $250 non-refundable broker's fee for selling insurance. Of course, you can just directly buy the insurance from Progressive.com. In our case, Culver submitted incorrect policyholder information to Progressive. They said my girlfriend had held her license for many years whe in fact she has only been licensed for one year. Naturally, this generated a very cheap quote. Not realizing what Culver had done, we bought insurance through them. The first document that listed the incorrect policyholder information came from Progressive. We immediately called Culver to notify them of their error, to cancel the insurance, and to ask that the broker's fee be refunded. We've been waiting to hear back from "the manager" ever since. He's been out on personal leave all week. The associate can't tell me whether he might be in Friday or Monday. These people are scammers. read more

The good: they respond quickly. The bad: they charge a $250 "brokerage fee" to sell you the insurance. I've never heard of this. They also didn't disclose this to me until after they had ran my credit card--which was very frustrating. Also, after my large first month payment I was told my motorcycle insurance would be $88/month. When I received my first bill from Pacific Specialty (insurance company they put me with) it was $98/month due to a "service charge." When I spoke with pacific realty they told me that my agent at culver insurance should have informed me of the service fee. read more

I want to start this by saying Diana and staff are extremely nice. I have had experience with a broker in the past and the thing they do not communicate well to you is they charge a $200 nonrefundable fee for their pocket. I knew this once reading the contract to sign after they took payment. Harley off the record suggested them during the motorcycle purchase. Unfortunately who they sold out policy to wanted proof we were not at fault for an accident and were canceling us if we don't provide proof. Without a long story, they wanted another $50 broker fee to get us another carrier and it wasn't our fault. We went with Tom Stephens at Farmers in Oakley with no problem, no broker fee, and WAY cheaper. So I don't recommend throwing away $200 for high priced insurance. read more

2 Stars because I should have known better. I basically paid $200 to have someone setup my $400 insurance policy. Sigh... Being new to owning a motorcycle, when I was quoted $600 - I jumped on it. Now after reviewing my policy with progressive that was setup by Culver, I realized I could have just went straight to progressive like I usually do for my home and auto and saved $200 in broker fees! lol Culver was professional and quick to get me a policy, but I would not use them again as I don't feel they were working in my best interest. If I was getting a large policy to cover an expensive boat, I'd understand a $200 broker fee... but please do not take advantage of first time motorcycle owners. Shame on me for not checking further and shame on Culver for charging a $200 broker fee on a $400 policy. We all need to make money in this world but wow, I feel a little bit ripped off. Keep up the professionalism but please CLEARLY breakdown your fees before setting up your customers policies in the future. Having a flat $200 brokers fee is fine if you're setting up large policies or doing extensive work to find a specific policy for a client BUT if someone comes to you with a $400 policy, maybe tell them it'd be worth it for them to try themselves if they can! read more

Been using Culver for about 4 years now. They've been great. Initially they set me up with Drive/Progressive and all was fine on my old bike, but when I got a new bike this past weekend, Progressive for some reason had an astronomical rate on my new bike, which actually should have been less expensive. I called Iris on Monday, who shopped around for me, and ended up finding a rate 75% less than what Progressive set me up with. I'd highly recommend using Culver. Everyone I've spoken to there has been very nice and easy to deal with this far. read more

HORRIBLE. This company didn't just cancel my motorcycle insurance for no reason. They also failed to notify me in a reasonable time. They cancelled my coverage on 8/7/15, but didn't bother to put a notice in the mail until 8/31/15. And, since, I was out of town, I didn't even get the notice until 9/11/15. So, I was unknowingly riding around without insurance for OVER A MONTH. The penalty for doing so if you get caught is: *a fine of $250 *suspension of license *motorcycle impounded Another reason I'm thanking my lucky stars nothing happened during this time? I called to complain about getting cancelled and to find out why at about 7pm on a Thursday. They do not answer their phones after business hours! So if you get into an accident at night or on a weekend, you're SOL until at least Monday morning. Do yourself a favor. Go with geico or someone who will at least pretend like they want your business. The prices are comparable. There's no reason to pick these numbskulls. read more

Be careful here when getting motorcycle Insurance. I purchased my first bike from Pacific Coast Motorsports, and was referred to Culver Insurance. I dealt with a guy named Alejandra Plata. I was charged $200 in a non-refundable broker fee for a $470 policy. A 43% Premium just to sign me up with Progressive!!!! It is my fault for not reading over the paperwork and seeing what a scummy move this was, but I was just excited to be getting my new bike. Culver Insurance has the worst customer service I have ever had, the are rude and do not return phone calls. On a recommendation I called them for motorcycle insurance and should have known then not to use them. They took my payment, but never called me to let me know anything about the insurance as they said they would and when I called they left me on hold four 15min. When I did talk to them they were rude and it was hard to get them to send me proof of insurance. Worst customer service ever. Do not use them! read more

I was at a San Francisco dealership and they provide me with this company for motorcycle insurance searching. Iris is the person who helped me find the desired insurance policy. The insurance company American Modern quote me a ten months premium of $800 on my new bike, which is about half the price of what Geico quoted for me. I have $500 deductible for both the comprehensive and collision coverage. Iris was really helpful when their system didn't have my active driver's license on file. I was able to obtain the insurance coverage within an hour. One thing to notice is that Culver Insurance did charge me $200 for their services. read more

I have found the service at Culver Insurance Services to be 'hit & miss' excellence. April Ramos' customer service is/was 5 Star. My reason for contacting CIS; I have an existing motorcycle policy with them. Last weekend, I traded in the cycle insured and purchased a new cycle. I just needed to add/delete the cycles. April was outstanding in her explanation of the process and her subsequent handling of such. Unfortunately, April was the second company representative I dealt with (a total of 3 were spoken with) and the other two- were not as easy. The first was contacted during the weekend of the new purchase. After explaining the reason for contacting CIS; this representative (whom I cannot recall her name) told me that such process can only be done via email. I gave her my email address and waited patiently for said email *which was never received *. Subsequently, April was contacted on Monday and the excellent service was received. Unfortunately, when I responded- I left an important detail out and April sent an email indicating such. At this point, I telephoned again, and the third person was spoken with. She explained that April was busy or not available at the moment. I attempted to relay the information, however, this representative was very impatient and curt, insisting that I follow up with another email. I did so, but, was dissatisfied by the nagging service. Result; once again- April Ramos= outstanding ...the other two representatives = lacking. Thanks! read more

Had insurance with them for almost 3 years. Always had automatic withdraw, 1 month they didn't withdraw my monthly payment and my insurance policy was canceled. They never even bothered to call to let me know that they never received payment. I called them to see what was going on, and they said that they would need almost $250 upfront to start a new insurance policy because the didn't receive payment. Now I have the lender calling me saying that I haven't had insurance for 2 weeks. I will be looking elsewhere for insurance than deal with the weak customer service. read more
