Taylor or Tylor! But anyway-he was such an uplifting individual, and very helpful!  I ordered a simple burger that day, but remember enjoying for the most part. This will be a shorter one I suppose since that was pretty much the jist of it lol.  I sat in my car not far from the truck to eat my burger. I do remember it being really juicy. I finally got up the nerve to go inside, and discovered I had been wrong. I've been there during the day and at night, and haven't seen a hint of trouble. It's a blue collar bar for sure, a mix of people my age and older people. The bartenders are exceptionally pleasant and the regulars have all been nice so far. The bar is L-shaped and located immediately inside the door, there is a large seating area to the left of the bar. On a recent visit, my brother and I were mistaken for traveling musicians by an older guy to the left of us. We still have no idea what gave him that impression. :) As decent and friendly as this place turned out to be, it's not for hipsters or the casual drinker. This is the kind of place where alcoholics and alcoholics in training go to spend their evenings getting their daily medication. Trivia fact: Ranch House is the oldest bar in Eastern Jackson County. It has been in continuous operation for about 55-60 years, possibly longer. The building is probably much older than that.

Turned out, the food for Burn Theory Fire Kitchen was cooked in a food truck in a parking lot and served inside the Diametric Brewing Company which is located at the address listed for Burn Theory Fire Kitchen. I will say, my husband ordered a special beer called "Cherry Street Wheat" and it was very unusual, and seriously tasty!!! I'm not a beer fan, but would drink one of these any day! So, getting back to the food... we'd both ordered a trio of street tacos that we did a mix and match of with their various proteins. We ordered this way to share with each other. We also love to discover new and unusual bites. After reading the reviews and their menu, we were excited for the promise of something uniquely delicious... and were completely disappointed!!! All but one (excluding the shrimp) of the six different tacos we'd ordered, bordered on the inedible side. The proteins were seemingly overcooked, folded into little leathery tortilla shells, and served to our table cold, dry and tough. They tasted as if they had been reheated from the weekends leftovers. Maybe we came on the wrong day. Perhaps if we'd visited on a weekend, or on the same day they were actually cooking the meats initially, we'd had a better experience. I don't know, and frankly do not plan to find out. Additionally, to be fair, their condiments (ie: the Ketchup and BBQ sauce) seemed to be made fresh and made from scratch. We ordered several sides: seasoned fries, smoked Mac and cheese, and a Caesar salad. The Caesar salad was good sized and easily shareable as a starter. I liked the house made dressing. If you wanted to have this as an entree, you have the option to add brisket, chicken, or shrimp. I will definitely consider it in the future. The seasoned fries were pretty standard. My boyfriend liked the seasoning and that they didn't put too much on them. My 3 doggos also enjoyed a few. The smoked Mac and cheese was probably my favorite side and I'll have a hard time getting a different one in the future. The Smokey flavor was perfect and not overwhelming. I was FURTHER impressed that Angie, the cashier at the window, presented me with a broad smile and welcoming attitude. Pleasant service is always a joy! I failed to see the name tag on the colorfully haired young lady who delivered my to-go bag. She too was exceedingly polite. It must be a great place to work based upon the happy employees! The real hero of the night, though, was the fried apple pie. Crispy outside, molten lava inside, and so good it deserved its own standing ovation. If they sprinkled it with cinnamon sugar, I might have written this review from the afterlife. All in all, it was the perfect ending to a long road trip evening. Whataburger definitely delivered the late-night comfort food magic we needed.
