I tried the custard with butterfingers. Quite different, but very close to how ice cream would taste. It's a little creamier is how I would describe it. Ordered a burger, and it tasted so fresh! I'm not one to pick burgers to eat, but I liked their burger. I like how soft the bun is. If we had one in Texas, I'd probably eat it if it was in my convenience. Learned a little about this company. I had a wonderful experience and my order taker was lyzzi. she was wonderful and patient when I didn't know what something was called and she filled my drink up for me when the machines the public uses weren't working. It's cruel fate that this Culver's is located right across from the YMCA. Culver's is by far one of the best fast food chains in existence. Let's face, you're not coming here for a gourmet experience, so stop complaining if your burger is less than 2 inches thick. The kids meals are one of the best deals (small portion food with fries and drink!), and most locations will serve them to you as an adult. With all the people in the back I can't believe for the past three visits my food has been missing or wrong! Well today I was done I ordered and when I got home I was missing a full meal! A 30 dollar order and you forgot my meal so I called and went back to get my food. Boy, I have never been in a Culver's that I did not like from Salt Lake City to all over the great State of WI. The new shaved prime rib sandwich worked for me this year but I have enjoyed everything on the menu. What can I say about the custard in addition to it is heaven on earth. If you are not into the "flavor of the day" make up your own from the wide variety of options they have available. Fast food at Culver's is a level above any other chain that I am aware of. Culver's is an outdated, Midwest or Wisconsin chain that is no different, if not worse then the likes of BK or McDonald's. I tried the cheeseburger and the burger was not bad, tasted fresh, but the cheese was not melted and nothing to write home about. Sharkus here, Over cooked, Again! Very unimpressed 2017 so far!! Ordered onion rings and bacon snack pack. O-rings taste of charcoal, and burger has 1 side blackened to a point also charcoal flavored. Unhappy, again. Ok, my 2 cents. Stop hiring new cooks! Stop making your good cooks managers during prime hours. The cost of consistency is challenging I understand, but the cost of inconsistency is way too much. People ignore their bad food at McDonalds because they imagine they will get ignored, or the 2d 3d or 4th tune they complain, somebody will think they are just trying to get free food. Well I'm complaining a lot lately, and since my daughter worked at McDonalds, I see an issue that they depend on the system to make consistent food, so they fire people constantly. Im a health nut with sensitivities to lactose, gluten, and red meats- and so I avoid this place like the plague. I never intentionally ordered any of their food before... until one day- My husband calls me after I get out of the YMCA next door from a run and asks me to grab him an eminem concrete mixer and bring it home for him. Well my friends, my husband got 33% of a concrete mixer because by the time I drove home 15 minutes away that is all that was left!!!! You see, the drive thru lady handed it me his custard milkshake and curiosity came over and so I decided to try one tiny bit, it was so cold and creamy and delicious I literally couldn't stop eating the sugary treat if my life depended on it. We were attending a meeting near this location and decided to stop for treats on the way back to our motel. A simple sundae in a cone and a cherry sundae. The cone was dripping before we left the parking lot and the cherry sundae was actually mixed with pecans. THIS PLACE IS GREAT, I LOVE IT! On the cheaper side but still awesome food, the service is great and when in town this is the main place to eat. Let me get started with saying most of the staff was great and great food. What left a bad taste in my mouth was a single individual that took our order. As I'm placing the order being as nice as I can be because I'm on vacation she just had a bad attitude. I took it as maybe that's she is. But no. First as we are ordering you can tell she was having a bad day. She placed the drinks all the way at the edge of the counter on her side. When I waited for her to hand them over she just looked at me, so whatever I reached over and grabbed them then She gave us an order that was totally wrong chicken instead of burger. Soooooo... I am cheating... a little... I am paraphrasing some of this from a blog I write, but I figured it would help a little to those who have never tried Culver's and are itching to do so: If your curiosity tries to get the best of you to find out what this "Culver's" is all about given that there is such a joint in almost every corner once you cross the Wisconsin border, DON'T LET IT!! I got the Snack Pack (for $2.99), which seems like a good deal, and instead of pop I opted for a small chocolate malt shake since I never had a chocolate malt before. And let me tell you, if that didn't clog my arteries, I don't think anything else will. I found out what a butterburger was: A burger with butter. Whether it was good or not is not the issue here; there was BUTTER in the already greasy as you-know-what burger!! People!! And the malt... kudos on the thickness of it (hard to suck --- don't be naughty now!), but it was overtly sweet, and all custard. I don't know exactly what "custard" is, but I'm sure it's something very, very not good for you. I'm not a health nut by any means, but I know where my limits are. Besides, I seriously thought this was my last meal when a deer decided to cross the road just as I was going 75mph (limit was 65, so I was within range, right?), and having Culver's as my last meal is definitely NOT the way I wanna go... I'm thinking had I gone Jared's way and stuck to Subway, I would have been in better condition following the near-death experience and pseudo cardiac infarct I think I may have had after almost killing Bambi. But in the end, I will say, that darned burger was pretty darned good. Plus it reminded me a little of In-n-Out, out in California. I won't be going back to Culver's though... I'm already a little traumatized by all the calories and saturated fat I consumed that one, fateful day I almost hit that deer *sigh* Okay, fine, maybe I'll go back, just once... The hubby desperately wanted to try Culver's so we stopped by here on our way out of Lake Geneva. I got the swiss melt burger with fries. The melt was ok. I wasn't crazy about the bread but at least the patty and cheese were good. The crinkle cut fries weren't bad. I have been on the hunt for this place for quite some time. The wifey, my mother and I were able to grab some before we hit the road to drive back to Chicago last Sunday. In my mind, it is essentially the midwest version of In n Out. Yes I know no special sauce, but the burgers are incredibly fresh. I like the crinkle cut fries. The first two times I went here it was ok. Typical of what I would expect of a fast food place. However my last two experiences make me want to stay away. Ordered a bacon burger one time and it came sans bacon. Ordered a cheeseburger the next time and all you could taste was salt. Seriously tasted like a salt-lick. It was past 9pm, I was hungry and just worked 12 hours so I ate it anyways. My decent experiences were dine in. The poor experiences were drive thru.
