Very much appreciated the diner. Reminded me about home which made sense as it came from the east coast! It's a railroad car converted and it shows. Friendly wait staff. No reservations so if a large party you will wait. I got lucky as two people vacated the counter. It was packed! Everyone around us enjoyed their food as much as we did. I had the corned beef hash-real corned beef. Potatoes needed seasoning but it was still good. My friend had half a waffle eggs and meat. Just her speed! You get cozy with your neighbors on the stools so we had a lot of conversation. There were also booths to sit at. A case of doughnuts I think he said made there. Food came fast and hot.

Time stands still at Joni's! The diner has a very authentic retro feel and a history that can't be recreated (it was relocated from the East Coast to the Midwest). I ordered a plate that came with sausage, eggs and biscuits + gravy. Everything was hot and delicious and came out fast. Also, our server was very attentive and took our order really quickly.

Excellent service from moment walked in door. Friendly atmosphere among patrons and amazing history of how this diner got here.

On my way back home so I decided to give them a try due to positive reviews and decor. Great choice. Upon entering a friendly lady greeted me and guest and sat us immediately. The decor is retro but clean and not too much. The server Fig cane over quickly and took drink order. She returned about 3 minutes later with coffee and orange juice which both were good. I ordered the Corned Beef Hash with egg whites = a wise choice, a superb creation. My guest ordered the 2 eggs w/toast & has browns which he liked. Gig was friendly, fast, on point. Keep up the good work guys!!!

Our first time there. Food was OK, Just OK. Two pancakes, one dry and well done. The other dry and definitely had a burnt taste. Pour on a lot of syrup and they were edible. Bacon burnt beyond recognition. Eggs were good. McDonald's across the street would have been a much better choice. On a positive note a very pleasant hostess at the door. Definitely not worth the wait or $45.00 (including tip) for two people.

Went during Winter fest and the service was amazing even with how busy it was! The vibe was super 50s diner so we HAD to get the milkshakes and I'm so happy we did - the food with it was pretty good too

Classic Diner Experience. Very well executed for breakfast. Atmosphere: Classic mid 20th century diner spot. Very fun. Built 60 some years ago and moved from PA to its current location. Pies in the fridge, classic booths, etc. I didn't notice if there was a jukebox. 5 Stars Service: Jia, who served us was super kind and fun. She got our orders correct and talked with us about the history of the restaurant, the town and the Alpine Valley Ampitheatre (our reason for being in town). All the other workers were gracious and fast cleaning up around us. 5 stars Food: Big E omelet for both of us with avocado. Very well done. A step above what you'd expect. I was very pleased. Added a shake of salt and pepper and some hot sauce really gave it some character towards the end. 4 stars The value was amazing. Price we paid for the quality of food and service was top notch. Will be back when I return to the area.

Cute retro diner spot! Very clean and had good amount of seating plus stool seating if you wanted to sit at the counter. Server was fast and friendly. Our favorite plate was the biscuits and gravy! You could tell the gravy was fresh and truly had sausage bits in it. My husband and I really enjoyed it. We also got the pancake breakfast plate. The pancakes were just okay. Bacon was really good - it was a thicker cut bacon with a lot of flavor. Would definitely go back again!

Retro dinner with flavor. Breakfast was amazing. Traditional Benedict is simple but there do their holandaise sause right. Nice and buttery. Prefer a less dense English muffin but with extra sauce it didn't stop me. The Banana Bread French toast is a must! Enough said. Stuffed French toast was delicious, inside tasted like a cinnamon roll but not overly sweet. B&G has that hint of thyme, so if you like that....then you will love it. If you don't, you don't, it's a choice.

I spent two nights in Lake Geneva for a weekend wedding and visited Joni's for breakfast on Saturday morning. I had such a delightful experience that I returned for breakfast on Sunday. Joni's is a chrome shop, a diner from days gone by, and it took me back 50 years to the diners of my childhood. Service was efficient and friendly. Coffee was on the table within 3 minutes for both of my visits. Give me coffee on a weekend morning and the rest can take its time. Joni's prepares its breakfasts the way they should be prepared -- Nothing overly complex, but everything properly cooked. Thoroughly enjoyed my omelettes and home fries both days, and my son enjoyed his pancakes. That's what I look for -- how happy am I when I walk out of the restaurant. Joni's made me very happy!

Cute traditional diner. Our server was busy, but she checked back on us regularly. We both decided to get a combo plate. My biscuits and gravy were delicious. I wouldn't really call it a biscuit. It was definitely soft and pillowy, but not crumbly like a buttermilk or baking powder biscuit next time I'm in Lake Geneva I would definitely eat here again

We found the cutest diner in Lake Geneva for breakfast, a throwback to the 1950's. Built, in 1954, the structure made its way from Connecticut to Illinois where it became Joni's Diner. The old time atmosphere is charming. You won't find cappuccinos, but you will find good American food. This diner is busy popular so we grabbed a seat at the counter to get in. Our server was nice, although she didn't introduce herself and I had to ask for a glass of water. I had the Green Machine omelet with spinach, green onions, mushrooms and swiss cheese. My husband had the Big E, with everything - onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, green peppers, bacon, sausage, ham, potatoes, cheddar & sour cream. Whew! I heard from a customer next to me that musts are the banana bread (get it toasted) and the pies. Maybe next time!

Had an amazing phillly cheesesteak sandwich here. This is the real deal. Don't miss it while in Lake Geneva.

I would have eaten here a second time on Sunday afternoon, but I got a $30 ticket after parking in what I thought was a free parking lot behind the adjoining businesses on the Main Street. I ended up stopping by Culver's on the way home to make up for the $30 charged by the greedy city of Lake Geneva. If the business owner reads this, please help do something about the outrageous parking fees in your city. Maybe a warning would have been nice instead of a ticket, or free parking during winter months on a Sunday. It cost you $60-70 in business this time, and has me looking elsewhere for our next weekend trip.

She says sit down and moves a pair of gloves that belong to the woman next to me. So I sit down and get ready to order when, the woman next to me taps me on the shoulder and says she's saving the seat for someone who will be here soon so I'll have to get up... The bartender looks at her, then looks and me and shrugs her shoulders... Glad I didn't pay the meter before I sat down. I didn't know you could group up and reserve seats at the bar before your party is there. My bad. Now I know. I should have made reservations... for the bar stool...
