This fast food chain restaurant was started in Wisconsin and is known for its butterburgers and frozen custards. I say this I was a bit taken aback to see Wisconsin cheese curds in GA. I was trying to figure out what a butterburger is and frozen custards when looking at the menu. So like Alice in Wonderland, I jumped down the rabbit hole and ordered the Culver's Bacon Deluxe Double basket and a vanilla frozen custard with heath bar topping. I probably should have realized that the butterburger is cooked with butter but I think I was in blissful ignorance or just flat out denial. I enjoyed the burger but was feeling guilty so I decided to check how the Culver's Bacon Deluxe Double measures up to its competitors: the two patty burger came with lettuce tomato cheese red onion and bacon 610 cal (vs. Five Guys Bacon Cheeseburger 1060 calories, Shake Shack double bacon cheeseburger contains 760 calories, McDonalds bacon quarter pounder with cheese 630 cal). The crinkle cut fries lacked flavor and went unfinished. The onion rings were among the best we've ever had with a tasty but not greasy coating so definitely upgrade your basket for $0.50. The spicy crispy chicken sandwich was good - better than McDonalds but not as good as Chick-Fil-A. The chicken tenders are big so we mistakenly ordered an 8pc which was too difficult to finish - it would really help if the industry would provide some sort of size guide (tenders, fingers or strips, oh my!). The limited time mac cheese went untouched - it was an odd mixture of fast food cheese sauce and unprocessed cheese. Then we tucked into the frozen custards - similar to a soft serve but a little more thick. When they brought them to the table, I half expected them to turn the cups upside down like they do at Dairy Queen. I couldn't figure out why the cups had a plastic half dome lid on them but once the hot fudge starting melting custards, it made sense. The staff was very friendly and the cashier was particularly helpful and patient. I had read that as an April Fool's that they joked about a curd patty on top of the burger patty and then it became a reality and sold out before 12N - I'd definitely try that because it's so unique. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat at Culver's so it's a 3.5 stars but I rounded down because of the flavorless crinkle fries. read more

There's a real disconnect with the system here. I ordered my food online, and it gave me a pickup time. I rushed over to make it on time, clicked the "I'm here" button so they'd bring it out to my car, and waited for 10 minutes -- nothing happened. I finally went inside and stood in a long line. When I told them I had an online order, a very pleasant young man grabbed my food from under the heat lamp -- where it had clearly been sitting for a while. What's the point of entering your car information and checking in if the food just sits there? The system needs serious improvement. The best midwestern butter burger you can find outside the Midwest! I got the double cheeseburger with lettuce and pickles. The burger was perfectly juicy & the lettuce/pickles were fresh and crispy. The iced tea was very good, but there are no lemon slices at the self serve beverage area. Lemon should have also accompanied our fish sandwiches. I liked the soft custard, but it was a poor value. I was charged a premium because the flavor I selected wasn't the flavor of the day. I won't do that again. Service was frustrating. When it comes to burger chains, Culver's is about as good as it gets. I usually get the Culver's Deluxe with a single patty. It satisfies all of my burger cravings. When they're doing it right and everything is nearly too hot to eat, it is at its very best. It's not the best burger I've ever had, but again, for a chain, it beats everything else. Culver's is based out of Wisconsin and offers a lot of unique fast food options. I like how everything is made to order and served hot and fresh. The crinkle fries are a mix between crisp and soft with good flavor. The famous cheese curds are nothing to write home about, does not have the stringy cheese effect of real cheese. The butterburgers are tasty and fresh. Juicy, high quality meat and fresh vegetables everytime. The drinks offered are Pepsi, 7UP, etc. instead of Coca-Cola (minus 1 star). But the BEST thing here that I crave most time and time again is the vanilla custard! So creamy and smooth and made fresh daily. Wow! It's the best custard I ever had! read more

I love Culver's so don't get me wrong. This is a negative review of a one time experience. I have been here many times and am always satisfied. However I don't think the salad I had today was fresh. I have had stomach issues for a few hours since eating the cashew chicken salad. Understandable. People usually don't order salad at a burger place. My advice. A truly horrific experience..... I have been to this Culver's many times over the years, and each time my experience is worse. Today, I sat in the drive thru for 30 minutes before they finally took my order and took another 10 minutes for them to bring it out to me. Pulling away, I realized that they had forgotten my fries. As a fast food restaurant, it is a solid four. Decent place to have a low-key family dinner and they bring your meal out to the table. You pour your own drinks and can take one to go on a refill. I was pleasantly surprised by this place, I honestly think it's the best drive thru burger on the market. The patty has great texture, the edges have nice crisp to them. The Butter Burger Deluxe was legit, the toppings, bun, and burger all melded together great. And they offer cheese sauce for the fries, I love it. Another thing that separates them from the rest of the drive thru options. And they have a fish fry that's actually pretty decent! And cheese curds. I just really appreciate the unique menu items. Went to Culver's at 9:15PM and the door was locked. Went through the drive thru and ordered a grilled chicken salad. Was given a number and asked to pull around. I waited for almost 20 minutes for one salad. Once I got home I could not believe this salad was $9.00. There was barely any chicken and all some soggy lettuce. I usually get the mushroom Swiss burger. It's always cooked to order and is pretty tasty. The pork loin sandwich was only okay and the fish sandwich was fresh but bland. My main problem with Culver's is that their prices are just too high. For a few more dollars we can go down the street and sit and be served instead of fast food ordering. $10 is too much for a sandwich, side and drink. The owner is very friendly and he keeps the kids behind the counter cleaning and giving polite service. This was our fifth or sixth visit to this location. I order the same thing every time. Culver's Felix single basket. About four times they charge for a double and bring it out. The first two or three times I just let it slide. On ordering tonight I repeated my order three times. They still got it wrong. Tonight I took the receipt and burger to the counter, the young lady went to get the owner. He came around the corner and very loudly said "what is your problem" I told him they messed up my order and I want it fixed. He said don't talk about "my children" it took me back. Weird experience today (October 27th, 2019) at around 2:00pm. There were a few weird things about this visit to this particular Culver's but nothing to get upset about, except.. one of the guys taller, dark haired guy at the register taking orders / walking orders out to cars bumped into my wife outside, really nudged her out of his way. We apologized out of politeness (even though it was 0% our fault) and he literally barely turned his head to us and kept walking. No acknowledgement whatsoever. This among other things has me confused as we've always had great experiences at every other Culver's we've visited. I like going to culvers here ! They always have great customer service, although one time I did get home and one of my orders was missing . It takes about a good 10 mins to drive back so I was not happy about that at all. I did call them and spoke to the manager regarding my concern and how frustrating it was to drive back, last thing I wanted to do was go back out and drive back , which I was already hangry!!! He assured me he has my order and that I'm welcome to come back , I asked for a refund on my order and he mentioned he will refund me. I happily went back and he was very nice, I believe the general manager was there and apologized for the inconvenience of me driving back, he did give us ice cream , which was nice of him , but I did not get my refund . He was super nice and I just couldnt be mad at him because they were all genuinely friendly. Even though I was looking to get my refund for driving back again, that's like 20mins all together. Extremely poor management and some rude workers. Out of the kids meals the corn dog tested off and the child eating it, who loves corn dogs, told us it tasted funny and bad. We took the corn dog and asked if we could trade it for chicken tenders. The front desk was kind and took it back but the cook in the back started yelling. He started asking what's wrong with it. They just see things they want and then throw it away. He was extremely rude. I told him the corn dog was bad and I just wanted tenders for replacement. I've been a Culver's fan since discovering them in Austin, TX, in early 2000s. Because I've had good experiences with several locations since then, I've been trying to give this one the benefit of the doubt. I've extended grace in several less than stellar situations (such as no hamburger patty on the Butterburger ). But today was the day I said I'm done. Unfortunately, the quality is just subpar. I realize it's been a very trying time but I hope owners/management can improve and I'll try it again in 6 months or so. Let's consider what Culver's is, and not what it is NOT. This is not a five-star, white linen napkin & tablecloth place. However, if you want reasonably priced food, with an attractive variety, and such friendly service, then Culver's really should be your place. How can you not appreciate a menu that includes chopped steak, fried shrimp, cod, pork tenderloin sandwich (generous portion & tasty), cheese curds, and burgers? THEN, top it all off with delicious custard ice cream for dessert! What? The Georgia Peach frozen custard was amazing and soooo creamy. I left my partially consumed quart at my in-laws, and then went back to Culver's the NEXT DAY for more. I took off one star as my to-go order was missing the chocolate/Reese's concrete. We went back inside, no problem, and came out with our order complete. That dessert was amazing too by the way. YUM, YUM, YUM. read more
