Menchie's on PIB is wonderful. From its location, size of the interior, to its selection of yogurts - it's your perfect stop for Froyo. I love Menchie's for a variety of reasons. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that it isn't as close to me as I would like, but the drive here is more than worth it. The Froyo shop has an app you can download, that allows you to pick your favorite flavors/toppings and will let you know when those particular ones are in your closest store (as not all flavors/toppings are served everyday). The app also tracks your purchases and you receive "smiles" for $ spent. For every 50 "smiles" you get a reward! The interior is always clean and the associates here have all been very nice. On multiple occasions I've ran into the manager of this location, and he is just the sweetest. He always has a smile on his face and asks me how I am - talk about personalized service. The parking is shared with the other tenants in the shopping center, but it never seems to be too overcrowded. The Froyo is self-serve. You first arrive and grab an oversized cup to start your Froyo experience. From there you have a variety of options (sorbet, dairy free, etc.) that you can choose or mix and match from. Once you've grabbed your base, you'll make your way to the topping area where you can get anything from fruit, cereal, nuts, sauces, etc. Once you've completed your creation, you take it to the counter where they will weigh your final product and tell you what you owe based on its total weight. read more

What a terrible place to go. The store is dirty and clearly no effort is being made to clean up. When I came I saw multiple flies all over the ice cream nozzles and the toppings were strewn about all over the counter. The girl at the counter had an attitude and when asked I asked for a sample cup she said it would cost $0.65 cents even though she didn't charge anyone else. I don't know if she thought I was trying to get a freebie or something but I clearly wasn't because I had gotten a cup to put flavors that I wanted. I've always loved the Duluth Menchies for its customer service, variety of frozen yogurt flavors, and the wide selection of toppings...until tonight, when my experience completely changed my view of this location. I'm a regular here, and Joseph, the owner, has always been so kind and accommodating. I'm also familiar with the younger staff, who, while they tend to start packing up the fresh toppings a little too early, are usually harmless enough. I've gotten used to showing up earlier to ensure I can enjoy the fresh toppings before they disappear. Joseph has been made aware of this issue, but tonight, the early packing was especially noticeable. I arrived at 7:58 p.m., waiting for my friend, and immediately saw the fresh toppings being packed away. Curious, I called the store at 8:06 p.m. to ask, "What time do you stop serving the fresh toppings?" The woman on the phone (Eva) casually told me that they were being put away. Naturally, I asked, "I thought the toppings are usually put away 30 minutes before closing?" To this, she offered no response and hung up on me. A few minutes later, my friend arrived, and we went inside. I asked the employee on duty (Eva), "Where are the fresh toppings?" She said, "They're already put away." I replied, "That's interesting, considering you close at 9 p.m. Why are they being put away at 8:11 p.m.?" She just stared at me, clearly surprised that I would even ask. So, I pressed on, asking, "Why are the toppings already gone?" I explained that the fresh toppings were the only ones we get, and it's really disappointing when they're not available. After some hesitation, and what seemed like a lot of reluctance, she smirked and said she'd go get the two toppings I requested. She returned shortly with them, and at least I was able to scoop them myself. Overall, this was a really frustrating experience. As I paid and walked out, I mentioned that Joseph, the manager, wouldn't be pleased with how things had been handled. Her response? A snide "Oooh, I'm scared." The way Eva spoke to me was unprofessional and frankly, a bit nasty. It's hard to believe that this is how things are run now. Not sure when or if I'll be back. Maybe I'll show up earlier, just to avoid any more unnecessary attitude. read more

Took my grandchildren to Menchie's today. We had been once before and although that experience was poor(filthy restroom and very grumpy staff) I decided to give them another go. I don't write reviews, like ever-always forget to to be honest. But after today's visit, I couldn't wait. Eva was her usual grumpy self... wonder what if anything could make her smile. We decided to sit outside since it was a lovely day, but unfortunately, there were not enough of their little chairs outside, so I had to take a couple from inside of the restaurant. We had to wipe down the chairs that were outside along with the chairs that we carried from the inside out because they were filthy. After we finished, we put all of our garbage in the garbage can, and as we were walking to our vehicle. Eva shouted at me across the parking lot."next time, put your chairs back where you found them!" I responded as politely as I could because I did have small ears around me, but I can assure you it's not what I wanted to tell this lazy employee. We will not be back. Cheap cheap and filthy. A stack of 10 plastic chairs all broken in the corner and she complained that we took a few outside to sit on. Rita's will get our money from now on. read more

Menchie's Frozen Yogurt finally arrives in Duluth. Located in the brand new Sugarloaf Market near Sprouts. The interior décor is very colorful and reminiscent of a candy shop. The shop itself is not too large with decent amount of seating. There are yogurt dispensers the that surround the back half of the circular cashier counter. The service is mostly just self service since you get your own yogurt. The staff does do a good job of keeping the place nice and tidy. The frozen yogurt flavors are typical of what you find at most places and there is a variety of toppings you can choose from like fruits, cookies, and other tasty treats. Finally we get a menchies in the area. Like the others said, it's like walking in a candy shop, lots of toppings to choose from and a good selection of frozen yogurt flavors. The cards for each flavor also outline basic nutrition facts, if you care about that. Wish they had a little more fresh fruit toppings. After a full day of grazing, my husband and two kids went here tonight instead of dinner. Our tastes range a great deal, but everyone was completely satisfied. I'm a die hard fan of original tart, and this place did not disappoint! The fruit and mocchi were fresh, and there were tons of great candy toppings and sauces too!! The yogurt selection is great. I would give it a five but the service is mediocre. The young girls are preoccupied and just are not suited for a Customer Service environment. Out of habit, I normally tip. So I left a 2.00 tip and the cashier was standing right there and didn't even give a courtesy "thank you". This is such a cute froyo shop! I love the pineapple yogurt it's safe to say I'm addicted...lol The staff is really nice. This place is the bomb. They have the best array of toppings that I have ever seen. They have popping blueberry and kiwi boba!!! Whipped cream! The owner is a sweetheart and they have a little corner area where little ones can play with a chalkboard and leave Mommy alone. I love that they offered a frozen yogurt option for every neurotic food allergy/avoidance that you can think of. I thoroughly enjoyed my low sugar and low carb coffee and New York cheesecake flavors. Menchie's has been such a great addition to our little community! The yogurt is great, the toppings are great, and customer service has never been anything less than awesome. They're on a corner lot with a some adjacent green space, so we've enjoyed meeting up with friends, eating some yogurt, and then letting the kids play. I went in tonight and NO One Was there, each machines light was on, the yogurt was not frozen. Floors, windows, everything is disgusting. I'm saddened that I won't be able to frequent here as it's become to run down to even buy the yogurt. Owners and management must not be present. Too bad. I'm sure it will close and they'll blame covid, instead of the mis management and crummy employees that are really to blame for the decline. I live close by and frequent this Menchie's location at least weekly. We even added a Menchie's line into our budget! The yogurt is top notch and easily the best tasting out of all the different yogurt shops around. I have been very disappointed lately with the cleanliness of this store. Last evening it was really bad. The floors are filthy, doors and windows are dirty and the outside area was full of trash. The entry door is broken and slams shut. There is a big sign on the door that is hanging on by one hook. The tables and chairs outside are old, dirty and tired, to the point where they need to be replaced. The area around the yogurt machines needs some work as well. The wallpaper is peeling and its always a mess. I have to say that the newer staff members do not take as much pride and care of the store as they have in the past. There were two employees sitting on the counter and not really taking care of the customers or the shop. We miss Cameron. She was excellent and always made us feel at home. We love the product but are concerned that no one is taking care of the place. I think the owner needs to spend more time at the store and get it cleaned up before customers get scared away. This Menchie is fabulous. The employees are so pleasant. I like going to a place where everyone greets me with a big Hello and a smile. Also the facility is amazingly clean. Lots of hard work at keeping it clean is evident. Now to the Frozen Yogurt. Their flavors are delish. Of course, I sampled them ALL. That's what the little cups are for. Them I settled on Cheese Cake and Caramel with a topping of peanuts. I love nut in my frozen yogurt. They had many, many more toppings than just nuts. And 7 syrup toppings also. At first I was excited hearing that a menchies is opening up in Duluth, even better, it's so close to where I live too! I came here expecting some quality froyo but instead all I received were really wattery frozen yogurt. On top of that, they don't even have mochi, like what kind of froyo franchise does not have mochi? What I got was dirt all over the toppings and an experience with the manager who is beyond rude and disrespectful. There are much better places to get froyo, such as 0° Celsius, and if you come by this one, then I recommend you get as far away from it as possible. read more

This is the closest frozen yogurt place for us and we've been visiting often. The store is small, which is okay, and they have seating both inside and out. Most of the outside tables have umbrellas, which is excellent. The reason I took off a star is because they only have eight or so flavors. Usually, I get half pineapple and half chocolate. It's a great combination of a good sorbet-type fruit flavor that's not too sweet contrasting with the sweet and tasty chocolate. My wife is more adventurous and she has been very happy with their other flavors and the toppings available. The staff is friendly. I really have thought twice and three times about posting this review because I would hate to get someone in trouble at their job. But it's happened on three occasions now and I just feel like it has to be addressed. The staff here so far is great I love Maria she's super sweet and helpful. A young lady by the name of Brianna on the other hand is far far from it. I went in tonight and she made my mom and I feel super uncomfortable the way she looked at us, it was actually quite uncomfortable. And like I said it's happened more than once. She barely says anything at all to us. So if management could bring this up to her attention and maybe things will get better. The other reason why I gave just 3 stars is sometimes it's pretty messy in there. But I do love the tart yogurt. read more
