The guy said he couldn't cash my check because he didn't have the bank in his systems; meaning, no other customers had cashed checks from the same bank so he couldn't cash it. Since this is the only check cashing place out this way I had to hold onto the check and go all the way down to Boston in order to cash it. This place was nothing but a hassle, nuisance, and waste of time. To think: he actually plugged all of my PII into his crumby looking computer, as if he was going to cash it; he even took my picture! Then, for him to turn around and refuse to cash my check on the grounds that he'd never cashed any checks from that bank before was an insult. What the hell'd you record all of my information for and take my picture for if you knew from the beginning you weren't going to cash it?! TF?!?! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. You're better off just going down to Boston. If, however, you have no issues wasting your time and wanna give them a shot, they're inside the liquor store on the corner (it's not a stand alone facility) of Union & Pleasant across from Webster Bank. They're in the rear of the store.

She stocks all things you can't really get at the supermarket... dried fruits, gourmet chips, various sparkling drinks, high end tea and coffee, quality chocolate... you get the idea. I'm not sure how she does it because the prices are reasonable for what you get. The locals tell me that New Bedford has needed a place like this downtown for a while. Glad it's there and will stop by next time on my way through.
