We were recommended to come here for lunch by a friend, and to be honest, I didn't even know this place existed before she told me about it. On a quiet weekend afternoon, we decided to swing through and give them a try, with limited expectations on what we were going to walk into. When we arrived, we were the only ones ordering at the deli counter. I ordered the falafel wrap and he ordered the Italian grinder. We also picked a carrot cake slice, a piece of tres leches cake and a peanut butter cup cookie for good measure. Once the meals were made, we took them home to eat. The guy who made our food asked me when he was putting the wrap together if I wanted "everything" on it. I asked what everything meant, and he went down the list of veggies and sauces. I told him that the only thing I didn't want was peppers of any kind. Despite this, the wrap had two different kinds of peppers. The falafel inside the wrap was cold, dry, and fell apart like sand. It was hands down one of the worst falafel I've ever eaten. Unfortunately that's not where it ended. Hubby's sando was terrible, he said the sauce on the grinder was so heavy handed, he couldn't taste anything inside it. The desserts were not much better, with the cookie being dry and crumbly, and the cakes being ok but not great. The wait time for these items to be made was pretty long, and even with that long wait time they were not well made, or even made according to our personal order. I don't know of the quality of the items, because they tasted so bad, we got maybe two or three bites in and chucked them directly in the garbage. Prices were ok if they had been worth eating, and service was slow and inaccurate. I'm not sure what the hype is here, but it's definitely not for the items we had at our visit. We will definitely not be returning, given how many other better options exist in this area. read more

Ash Mart is hit or miss. I actually used to enjoy them quite a bit, but lately they've lost their luster for me. The sandwiches, while tasty, have gotten skimpier and they aren't paying attention when making prepared foods. I recently ordered a quesadilla and it was missing all of the good ingredients. It simply had cheese and dry chicken. No sautéed peppers, no sautéed onions, no real flavor. Also, sometimes they are super friendly and sometimes they are very moody. It's hard to predict what you're going to get when you walk in there. I was going to ask them to remake my quesadilla or at least add the sauté peppers and onions, but the lady who is the owner is scary. She has been mean in the past, and not just to me. She was extremely rude to my elderly father when he went in there not too long ago. This is one of the closer places to my home so it's a convenient quick hit for lunch. We just moved here so on moving day we treated ourselves to some deli sammy's from here! My husband ordered the Reuben, it wasn't the best, wasn't the worst sort of lacked flavor. I ordered the Italian which was full of flavor! My only complaint would be there was a bit too much Italian dressing doused on it, sort of took away from the other flavors. I'll definitely be coming back here though. If I had to pick between here and subway, Ash Mart Deli will win every time. read more

Make sure you check the products before you buy them. Bought a bottle of ranch only to realize when I got home that it had expired over 3 months ago!! This is not the first time I have noticed when I got home that the food from there had expired, but usually it was by a couple weeks so I shrugged it off but it has never been to this degree. The girl behind the counter had not given me a receipt or asked if I needed one (didn't think much of it bc I wasn't planning on returning it). Went back the next day and explained the situation to the guy behind the counter. Before he could even say anything the older woman working there (who I later found out is one of the owners) snatched the ranch out of his hand, threw it in the garbage aggressively, went over to the condiments section and told me that they didn't carry that brand, then changed and said they didn't carry that size, (which one is it?), then proceeded to take it out of the garbage (which is unsanitary to say the least) and show it to me and told me they didn't carry it. I tried to tell her I definitely bought it there, she only lightened up a bit when she scanned it in the system and it showed they carried it. She then gave me the money back in cash, as she was doing so she said "just bring your receipt back next time". When I told her the girl didn't give me one she said "well did you ask?". At this point I was starting to lose my patience as she had given me an attitude from the beginning, like I was really trying to scam them out of a product worth $3? She was just denying it so that they wouldn't get caught selling exired food. I said thanks snarkily but only gave her an attitude because she gave me one first. She told me I didn't need to give her an attitude and at this point I was done. I told her maybe she shouldn't be selling expired products, and after this she told me not to come back and that I wasn't allowed in the store. Not even sure how she would enforce this and also lol I would be banned bc I called you out on selling products that could make people sick? This woman left me in tears I was so upset, all over a few dollars. I've never had nothing but pleasant experiences with everyone at ash mart so this was very disappointing to say the least. Everyone else is nice but please be cautious of the older woman who is one of the owners. I see there are other reviews where people have shared unpleasant experiences with her. And check expiration dates before you check out so that you don't get sick. It is shameful that they would rather risk making their customers ill than throw out expired product to save a few bucks. read more

I stopped by with my girlfriend after reading great reviews online. She ordered a Boar's Head Deluxe Ham sandwich. When I opened the paper, it was not the ham she asked for. It looked like Virginia ham. The Boar's Head delivery man was there and stated is was not ham at all but turkey ham. OK, no big deal. The little S**T head who made the sandwich grabbed it from the counter screamed F*CK and slammed it into the garbage. ARE YOU KIDDING? Great place and the owners have a great personality while entering the "mart". They seem to genuinely really care about you and your sandwich needs. Haha. As they have a lot of tasty products it goes hand in hand with the shadiness of their business practice. They will overcharge you in a heartbeat! $1 isn't a big deal but I have on numerous occasions grabbed there .99 cent bottle of water or soda and watched them ring it in as 2.19 and as soon as I mention it they change it. I go in from time to time, basic last minute sandwich and sundries. What grosses me is out there are no dates on fruit or pasta salads half the time, pre cut/pre made. One Mac and cheese had blue mold on it . Foreigners from Italy, Aremnia, Russia, Mexico and Jamaica all work here and language isn't underatood at times. Showed blue mold on Mac and cheese and girl at counter still try to charge me....I explained again....very nice girl but didn't get it. Ice coffee has small scoop in ice bucket where hands on scoop and watery ice cubes, not sanitary. Lots of blue collar workers in for lunch crowd and don't know where hands have been. See employees obsessed with cell phones on, sometimes thinking I am interrupting them from their business. I grew up with the motto...if you can lean, you can clean and they could use it! read more
