This is a small, Indian restaurant in a strip mall in Dorneyville. It is essential to have a reservation if you plan to eat there. They recently added an event room next door. The restaurant opens at 5. They have many choices on the menu, but we go there for the dosas, which are presented in many different iterations. They never disappoint. This restaurant seems to have a very active take-out business. The service is always good and accommodating. This is hands down the best Indian restaurant in the Macungie/Allentown/Trexlertown area. Super friendly service. I've come here a lot of times in a short period of time. This place just opened up right before COVID19 and I honestly hope they stay around. It is only a small spot in a strip mall with a few small tables so it is mostly take out. BYOB if you do stay. Big Menu. A little hard to understand but basically you pick your base, you pick your protein, and you pick the way you want it cooked. I've come here many times for my own. I told my co-workers about it and convinced them to get lunch from here one day. I don't believe they do catering but we called the evening before to place our order since it was big and they were able to get it done, on time, and exactly how we like it. Be sure you tell them how spicy you want it. Truth be told - make sure you differentiate between "Indian Spicy" and "American Spicy" because there is a wide difference. Amazing customer service and delicious food. We came here about a month ago and opted for outdoor seating, which was only 2 small tables and a couple of chairs. We ordered the garlic naan, lamb vindaloo and chicken tikka masala. I had the level 3 lamb vindaloo and it was spicy! But that just made me want to eat even more. Everything was so delicious that we ended up ordering more food. We added to the order the butter naan, a masala dosa and a mango lassi. Omg the dosa was gigantic!! And so fragrant and crispy! We had originally ordered for take out but decided to eat in the outdoor seating area. The employee came out and asked us if we needed anything several times and even gave us extra plates and napkins. When we ordered our second time, they offered a free soda. I am beyond delighted that this side of Allentown finally has a great Indian restaurant! I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, Channa Korma, Chicken Curry, and Shrimp noodle all in mild spice (I'm a baby). Firstly the spice level was accurate! Just right! The channa, curry and masala were all super flavorful; generous portions with thick hearty sauce for soaking up delicious rice and naan. I have to say the surprising star of the show for me was actually the Shrimp Noodle. Little red bits of shrimp in a noodle dish bursting with delicious fresh vegetables and spring onions! Wow! This is, by far, the BEST Indian food I've ever had. The greatest thing is they are so consistent... I come so often and I've never had anything that wasn't beyond delicious! Today, i had Chicken and Paneer Tandoori Pulao seasoned with coconut... it's the first time I've tried this and I can't wait to have it again!!! Our server recommended getting a sauce with it because it's a dry dish - ended up going with the Chettinadu (which is my favorite). So, I've eaten at Biranyi City. I noticed, it wasn't what it used to be. It wasn't bad, just not what I first remembered. Then, I came across Cumin N Eat. I learned the owners used to own BC, which might be why I have my suspicions. This is a new independent joint and my oh my, we have a home run folks. Had the Lamb Korma and wife had the Goat Biranyi. Shared Samosas. I could have gone up another level of spice. The naan for dipping complimented well. The best part is that when I called to order, they were so busy. They were backed up. The next day, they called, out of the blue to apologize for not answering. What customer service! While I felt it was a little pricy, I absolutely loved the Shrimp Fried Rice. This is no side-take on the famous Chinese cuisine... this is Indian street fair and very different and far more amazing. My wife and I were in Allentown yesterday and we searched Yelp for Indian restaurants and found "Cumin N Eat" so we called to ask about hours and a few questions about their menus. The woman who we talked to on the phone was pleasant and knowledgeable. She told us they are small with limited seating so we left our name and asked for a reservation. We went to the restaurant and indeed it is small but inviting. We ordered an entree and a Dosa. Amazingly great. The food was first rate by any standards. Delicious and generous. The restaurant itself was spotlessly clean. (Including the both bathrooms) We were so pleasantly surprised by this small gem of an Indian restaurant. First time ordering today for me and my wife and the food was amazing! The flavors were incredible (just make sure you let them know if you like your food spicy, mild or not at all) It's made spicy by default which is fine by me, but may catch someone by surprise if there unaware. Customer service was top notch, took time to answer all my questions and offered curbside delivery and door to door delivery. My only complaint, and it's a minor one was we ordered lamb Doosa and chicken Doosa and there was about 5 dipping sauces and all we needed was extra Doosa to dip. Because now after all the Doosa is over we have all these sauces left over. read more

We had ordered chicken noodles, chicken fried rice, spring Dosa, gobi Manchurian, chicken sukka and paneer chili... each item was authentic and great tasting. Questionable name I suppose, but the food is absolutely fantastic. As of now they're only allowing indoor dining by reservation so be aware of that. Take out is available, and you can buy mango lassis if you just walk in. Simple decor inside but nice and clean. Lots of appetizers to choose from. The entrees follow the general rule of choose a protein, and then choose the type of preparation that you want. Vindaloo, Chettinad, masala, etc are all available. We had a mild chana masala and a medium chicken chetinand. Flavors were great! Very different from each other and tasted vibrant and fresh. A good helping of chick peas and chicken in each dish respectively. And the price was excellent for the amount of food you get. For bread on the side we had two orders of Barrota. Haven't seen this elsewhere and they were excellent. Nice and flaky, not too oily, and just delicious. Staff was very nice, even as my compatriot was being very unreasonable about ordering food to go when the kitchen was supposed to be already closed. This is the best Indian place anywhere. And believe me, I've tried nearly all of them from reading to Allentown before i found this place. I eat here far too often, getting a new thing each time. Delicious and nutritious! Spicy and delectable Indian quinine with the friendliest staff I've met in a long time. The service was efficient and my order was cooked to perfection. My wife and I have been DYING to try this place for some time now as it has an amazing reputation on here. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Makhani. The portion sizes were great except for the naan....other Indian restaurants give you way more bread for $4. The reason for 3 stars is because there were little to no spices in the sauce on BOTH dishes. It tasted like tomato soup and it was VERY sweet and the 'medium' spicy was more like mild. The staff however was super friendly and I like how they call you to let you know the order is done. I'd give em another chance, maybe it was an off night? ...My wife and I eat Indian cuisine once a week and it's never tasted like that before. I expected much better from a 5 star rated restaurant!! Add those delicious spices in there next time! Update: Any restaurant who gives you a call to appreciate feedback always gets another chance! Look forward to trying your food again. I got chicken biryani and a golden milk, they both sucked and were thrown out, it had this weird spice to it that tasted terrible and I got mild and no it wasn't spicy and no i'm not scared of spicy food. First, do not plan to eat in - definitely a takeout spot. They kindly made room for us, but they have very few tables, and you must have a reservation to get any of them. The food was wonderful, and the customer service was impeccable. I would order the channa masala again. The rice was cooked perfectly. The aloo gobi dosa was delightful. Since it was my first time ordering, I wanted to interact with a person so I stopped in. The woman behind the counter was incredibly patient and helpful (I have a dairy allergy). There are numerous options for those that eat vegan! I got the samosa (not greasy!), pakora, a plain roti, and the mixed vegetables in the chettinadu sauce (gravy?) at a mild spice level.
