I came here with my family after my brother-in-law's graduation. It was a great spot. They were able to accommodate our big group. The food was also spectacular. They keep the selections well stocked. I'm pescatarian, and they had a yummy fried fish and plenty of vegetarian options. The staff were sweet too. I'd come back if I were in the area.

Umesh and his crew are working hard to iron out the kinks during their soft opening of this Indian cuisine meets fancy diner vibe restaurant. We were warmly greeted and treated like honored guests as we scanned the menu of many time-honored Indian dishes. He was kind to offer some suggestive help- but this wasn't our first foray into Indian food so we got to ordering. The starter of vegetable Samosa was very nice and the homemade sauces were very good. The Lamb Rogan Josh was tender, a good light heat with deep flavor and the vegetable Korma was aromatic and yummy; the Garlic Naan and Rosemary naan were spot on. We do miss Clove which was our go-to Indian place and the high standard but which we often judge other Indian restaurants. I would say Spice Route is very close to excellent but lightly misses on umami and spice depth. That said, I would eat here again and often. I would recommend that Spice Route consider cold, filtered water as what was offered was clearly straight tap water and not enjoyable. Additionally the very bright fluorescent lighting is a bit "loud" and uninviting. Overall Spice Route is certainly a place to try and somewhere we will return, if only to grab some takeout.

Excellent choice if you're in the Allentown area. Lunch Buffett for those who are new to Indian food. Great service. The staff are incredibly friendly and the atmosphere is simple but nice.

Went here for the lunch buffet today. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. They had an extensive selection of appetizers (eg, samosas, kachori, pani puri), entrees (eg, aloo gobi, baingan bertha, dal, naan), and desserts (jalebi, gajar ka halwa, and kheer). I'm vegetarian, but my husband who isn't, said all the meats were yummy and cooked perfectly. Their buffet is every day except Saturdays. We plan to go again soon!!

To get you to try new things, they'll even toss in freebies on larger orders and those never disappoint either (and it works, I've ordered those things other times). I'm glad I found this gem of an Indian restaurant in the Lehigh Valley.

Cumin 'n Eat serves excellent Indian food. The food is consistently hot, fresh, high-quality, and…read morevery well seasoned. The flavors are clearly prepared with care. The people are also friendly, which makes the experience feel welcoming. That said, there are a few things that would make the dining experience much better. On our last visit, our group waited nearly 30 minutes for the food to arrive. During that time, the table was completely empty except for water and place settings. When food is going to take longer than usual, it would make a big difference to bring something small to the table, even pappadums or another light starter, just to keep guests happy and occupied. It would also help if someone came over to apologize, give an update, and let guests know how much longer the food may take. Also, the cold plastic plates should really be upgraded. They feel cheap and tacky, and hot food should not be served onto cold plastic plates. Real plates would immediately improve the presentation and overall dining experience. The main dining room could use more warmth and charm. Right now, it feels a bit sparse and not especially cozy. But the room you first enter is in much greater need of attention. Honestly, it feels rather depressing to eat in that area. It would not have to break the bank to make it warmer and more inviting. A little decor, better lighting, warmer colors, or even a few thoughtful touches would go a long way. Right now, it just feels like very little effort was made in that space and that it's just a path to the cash register. One final suggestion: when it is time to pay, please do not stand over guests while they review the bill and decide on a tip. It feels uncomfortable. Either leave the device on the table or bring a paper bill first, then return when the guest is ready. Overall, the food is very good and the people are friendly. With a few service and atmosphere improvements, Cumin 'n Eat could offer a much better full dining experience. Our family really loves the food so kudos to the great chefs!

I lived in Northampton many years ago and I couldn't believe such quality Indian food exist in that town. The restaurant is small, but very clean. The manager that is always up front has a great personality and is very friendly and accommodating. I have tried the food here six times and never disappointed, but I believe the food is even more delicious than my first few visits. I had a problem calling the Allentown location in error. When I walked in at the time they close between lunch and dinner I was so disappointed what I did and felt bad I did this to them. The manager called the owner and in no time, I was leaving with delicious Indian takeout, which I never asked from them. Definitely give this BYOB Indian restaurant a chance and you will be very happy you did. For this order I had chicken tikka masala, a lamb wrap and garlic naan. Everything was delicious but the lamb wrap really surprised me how good it was!
