After following Cupcake Charlie's on Facebook for a long time, I was very excited to try it. The pictures of their cupcakes always look great and they try many different flavors. However, I think they should start working less on presentation and more on the taste of their cupcakes We got red velvet and Oreo and were extremely disappointed in both. "Gourmet" tasted a lot like "boxed cake mix". They try to cover this up by adding too much frosting, which isn't too great either and is overwhelming. My standards may have been high after looking at all their pictures, but it does not meet those standards. Or even come close. Stick to taking pictures. read more

I had one fantastic cupcake at Cupcake Charlie's. It blew all Boston cupcakes out of the water. There were many different options that appealed to me - chocolate mint, chocolate peanut butter, oreo, pumpkin spice - but ultimately I went for the Hostess with the Mostess. This lovely concoction was a high-end take on that convenience store staple, and oh did it deliver. It was fluffy and moist and DELICIOUS. And it was covered by a shiny chocolate ganache shell, with a tasty creamy surprise in the center. Cupcakes don't get better than this. read more

I almost don't want to write this review, because I want to keep this place a SECRET! But I guess the more people that go, the longer they'll stay in business, so, go here! I've eaten a lot of cupcakes in the last year...Magnolia and Crumb in NYC, Sweet and Kickass in Boston, and nothing compares to Charlie's! The cake is delicious, the icing is perfect, not too sweet...they must put crack in these things, they're so good. I like them so much that I just ordered 60 of their cupcakes for my wedding in July. It's just another generic cupcake store. My cupcakes tasted like supermarket cupcakes, e.g., Stop & Shop, and the frosting tasted as if I just had a cup of confectionary sugar. Maybe it was just a bad batch, but it was not in anyway worth the $6 for two. read more

I honestly didn't find there to be anything special about this place. My family got a few different types of cupcakes and none of them really liked them. I wanted to go because they advertise their gluten free options online, which ended up being "gluten free Fridays", which I found to be a little ridiculous. I LOVE Cupcake Charlie's! Having been around the country trying cupcakes, I still say Cupcake Charlie's is the best. They were a HUGE hit at our wedding reception this past summer. Perfectly delicious in so many ways. Moist, flavorful. Mmmmmm. Of course they're sweet, they're cupcakes!! I will admit that their quality has declined a bit since they first opened. I think that's usually what happens though, especially once you've built a name for yourself. As they open more stores, I hope they'll focus on the quality and continue to prepare amazing cupcakes as opposed to cutting corners to cut down on costs. Best cupcakes I have ever had!!! When visiting Mashpee in the summer, I make a point of stopping at Cupcake Charlie's. Every cupcake here is simply amazing, but the top two are the Hostess with the Mostess and the Lemon Drop! The cake is very moist with the perfect amount of frosting. I can't say enough great things about this place. I have brought tons of family members/friends to try their delicious cake and everyone loves them! I'm not the biggest cupcake fan, but CC's is your go-to place for cupcakes on Cape Cod. Typically, I bounce between the Peanut Butter Pleasure and the Funfetti cupcake. Other members of my family get the Hostess With the Mostess, Oreo, and the Lemon Cupcake, respectively. Most of the options you cannot go wrong with. The girls working the counter are always pleasant to do business with, and will certainly help you if you have any questions or problems. The cupcakes are a little expensive (around $4 per cupcake) but worth it-- they are special cupcakes. read more

Yummy cupcakes!! in a great location at mashpee commons!! Went there yesterday with my husband and stepson..its probably our 5th time there and we love it!! I always get the chocolate raspberry or the orange creamsicle..my husband always gets the oreo and reese's peanut buttercup. Great thing about them is some have a cream filling on the inside too which only makes it better!! I gave it a four star because the only thing i would change is to just have a little less icing on the top and it would be perfect!! Every time I visit the Cape I get cupcakes here. Let me say this, I have bought comparable priced cupcakes elsewhere (4 different places) and NONE compare to here. Their prices are the same, a bit on the upscale side, but... if I am going to pay $3.00 for a cupcake, it had better be the BEST creation in cupcake land. Well, this place takes the cake ... the "cupcake"..... they are far superior to any place around. You can tell that a lot of love and pride go into their creations. Oh my! Just cupcakes. Raspberry, peanut butter were both big hits. Choc meets vanilla and Hostess with Mostess were just ok. Costly dessert - over $11 for 4! The cup cake was just a bit on the dry side and the frosting was like biting into a mound of sugar. I have never tasted such a disgustingly sugary frosting. It overpowered the flavor of the cup cake. We ordered Cupcake Charlie's for our wedding, and we were so impressed with how perfect they all were! We worked with Samantha, who was so accommodating and wonderful through the whole process. From the moment we tried the cupcake options at the trial, we knew that the cupcakes were the best choice flavor wise and financially to serve at our wedding! We ordered 175 cupcakes of six different flavors (including some gluten free and vegan), including the adorable bride and groom cupcakes, as well as a cutting cake and was impressed with their taste and presentation- and so were our guests! The cupcakes are not that tasty - they compensate by overloading it with frosting. My daughter actually used the frosting to sculpt with and it wasn't melting! My friends and I were horrified. I must admit I have a huge sweet tooth! However, because of this I have eaten A LOT of different desserts and over time I admit my sweet tooth has gotten more... shall we say... refined? I did not think it was possible! Rarely if ever these days do I find a supermarket cupcake that I truly enjoy after that first few "oh but it's a cupcake" bites. Now, after eating at Cup Cake Charlie's every cupcake since has paled in comparison (even in some of the bakery type shops)! CupCake Charlies are delicious, with great quality cake, as well as, very rich and sweet icing. It is hard to fill me once I begin eating something this good, my sweet tooth overrides my tummy quite easily so this is something for me to say...but if you are able to pause properly after eating one of these ;-) you will likely be filled after 1, people with less appetite even a half (however it is hard to stop eating because it is so good). These are perfect for parties where you want to offer a variety and there is just something so fun about big cupcakes like this. My family often splits them in half or even quarters to share and try different flavors. Top picks: Oreo, Peanut Butter, White on Chocolate and Carrot Cake.
