Delicious Dirth Bomb after 30 seconds in the microwave - note the delicious buttery cinnamon oozing on the plate!!!
    Margot D.

Imagine that a donut and a muffin walked into a bar, fell in love and married.... and then they became the Dirt Bomb. These are the marriage between a donut and a muffin with a nice bath of butter... this must be heaven! It had been years since I had them, and fortunately my neighbors brought some home this past weekend!

A classic, American bakery with their specialty: the dirt bomb! It's essentially a semi-fried cinnamon muffin. Very rich, but quite delicious (I could only eat about half, so good to share with friends and family). Other desserts were similarly classic American: slightly too sweet for my preference but my mom loved. Not sure I'll return when I'm in Cape Cod next, but mom probably will

Yelp helped me identify Cottage Street Bakery as a bakery to visit on a recent Cape Cod Trip. It's a small bakery not far from a windmill along the water. Service was friendly. They have great stuff. I ordered a beautiful and tasty chocolate-covered, Thanksgiving color-speckled, coconut macaroon. My wife called her brownie (eaten before picture) a 10 out of 10. The pictured "dirt bomb" was also delicious and soft-textured. Cottage Street Bakery is deservedly a well-loved place. Five Stars

Quaint + cozy. Cottage Street Bakery serves incredible on-the-go pastries and desserts. Two stools inside to sit but other than that, you'll have to opt for a picnic bench out front if you wanted to "eat in".

While here on the Cape we heard some people talking about these "Dirt Bombs" and how they were the most amazing things they have ever eaten. So of course we needed to track them down and they did not disappoint. And of course we had to try a bunch of items this great little bakery had to offer. Such an amazing hidden gem in the heart of Orleans.

So cute and so tasty! We ordered breakfast sandwiches and the famous "dirt bombs", we have had dirt bombs at other places in town but came here when we heard this was the original! Hands down the best dirt bombs! For breakfast sandwiches the veggie sandwich is delicious! We will be back!

Extremely responsive and helpful! Called them on the phone to discuss the vision for this cake and they delivered. Thank you so much! Absolutely delicious. Everyone was blown away by the quality and taste of this cake. Will order again next time!

When I come back to the CAPE the first restaurant I go to is SUNBIRD because they always have new twists and local ingredients for old FAVORITES. There are always some new faces at the front counters but each year they are younger and sweeter, more intelligent, and well informed about the ingredients of each menu item. The kitchen is attentive to every little nuance making foods healthy but sumptuous and tasteful. I was starved when I arrived on a redeye from LA and I ordered the Kimchi breakfast tacos and the quinoa porridge. The Kimchi spiced up the corn tortillas, egg and cheese with savory and tangy fermented cabbage. The porridge was "heartwarming" quinoa steamed in coconut milk and topped with berries, dried apricots. If you want to save time you can call in your order or book on-line. EATING WITH YOUR FAMILY? SUNBIRD will prove "yummy" and "healthy !!!!! I KEEP COMING BACK BECAUSE ITS GOOD FOR ME!

I enjoyed my iced latte that I got, but I'm not too picky with my coffee. The sandwich had a nice runny egg, thick bacon that was well-seasoned, and toasty, buttery bread. I put the mayo on the side, which I think was a mistake, because it was a little dry (but that's my fault). Overall, yummy meal!

The second I walked through the door, I knew we were in for something authentic. The air was filled with the unmistakable smell of fresh sauce, garlic, and quality ingredients. The vibe? Warm, casual, and confidently no-frills in the best way. When my boyfriend's mom asked for mayo and was kindly offered a side of house-made marinara instead, we knew we had struck Italian gold. I ordered the Caprese panini, and while I didn't love the bread at first glance, it surprised me--it was light enough to let the real stars shine: creamy, fresh mozzarella and that incredible homemade pesto. I actually finished the whole sandwich (a rare feat when most leave me full of nothing but bread). My boyfriend (and his parents) devoured their sandwiches without a word, leaving only a few crumbs and a slightly smug expression. We also split an arancini ball for just $5--and it was hefty. Flavorful and golden, though the cheese inside could've used a bit more melt inside. Still worth it, especially at that price. Cibo offers both made-to-order paninis and a full spread of pre-prepared Italian dishes that looked straight out of Nonna's kitchen. Think: lasagna, pastas, cold salads, and a take-and-bake section with house-made pasta and sauces. The gourmet coffee bar smelled like heaven and used fresh ingredients--no plastic creamer pods in sight. Even the dessert case looked like it had stories to tell. Aside from some Cape Cod chips and bottled Coke, everything here felt distinctly and proudly Italian. This is a spot that knows exactly what it is and does it well. 10/10 would detour for this place again.

Unfortunately I was quite disappointed when I went today for a panini to go. The paninis used to be amazing and a true treat. Today's Italian panini had exactly one thin slice of ham, one thin slice of salami and once thin slice of mortadella on it. For a $17 sandwich, I would have expected way more meat and the bread/meat made me barely taste any protein. Hopefully the new team can adjust and do better in the future.

We both ordered coffee and it was delicious! I ordered the eggs Benedict with a side of the root vegetable hash and my son ordered the buttermilk pancakes with a side of bacon. My Benedict was very good. The hash was actually the root vegetables in full size, so it threw me off a bit thinking it would be small vegetables all mixed together. That being said, I did like it.
