Heard great things about the parlor and always saw there was a long line (figured it must be good if people will wait) so I decided to go this weekend. I got a scoop of cake batter and s'mores. The cake batter was decent, but the s'mores however, was EXCELLENT. The flavor, the marshmallow swirls and chocolate bites was just so delicious, especially on a hot, summer evening. We had to check out all the hype! They did not disappoint. We did wait in line for over 35 minutes this seems to be the norm since this place is so popular. They are known for their freshly made waffle cones so I had to give it a try. Not going to lie, not as sweet as I would have liked it to be, so not my cup of tea, but it was still enjoyable. My family tried a few different flavors; strawberry, strawberry cheesecake, oreo peanut butter, and oreo. All yummy! The staff was so friendly and patient with us as we read the walls full of menus. They had fun decor, consisting of collectibles filling the entire inside. Outside they had fun large cones you could stick your heads in. Overall it was good. Had a very bad experience tonight. Ordered a fluffernutter Sundae and received it with birthday cake ice cream flavor which did not go well at all with a fluffernutter. I had ordered it with cake batter flavor, which is very different from birthday cake flavor with the blue stuff (frosting?) that i dont like. But that was the flavor of the day so i figured it was an honest mistake as perhaps many people were ordering that today. I will never understand the hype for this place. The ice cream is fine and the waffle cones are good, but I can't get over how poor the system is to get ice cream and cones. The owner claims he has long lines because his ice cream is so good, but really it's because his staff is slow, he has no premade cones, and nobody is in a rush to get people in and out. I get the appeal is the fresh waffle cones, but maybe make it so that people have an option to get a fresh one or one that they make before the shift starts. I would be fine getting a premade waffle cone versus waiting an hour for the fresh one that melts the ice cream. I have so much more I could say but I don't want to bash the business too hard on here. Let's just say, there's more than meets the eye. read more

Ed and Bobbi G. We have been Polar Cavers since the beginning. We watched (and contributed to Shelby's College Fund) as it grew and grew and... Mark is one of the nicest people we have ever met. When our little grandchildren come to visit the first thing they want when they get out of the car is "ola cab". Poppi says, hey me and Nonni too let's go! Polar Cave after lunch and before bedtime bath. My older grands (who now drive) grew up on Polar Cave and always bring a few pints home. I am selfish enough to wish it was less popular but Mark, and his lovely family have done a wonderful job and deserve every kudo for their hard work and generous contributions to our community.
