There have been so many things said about their selection - it truly has everything you need! But when it comes to quilting and so many other hobbies, It is the people and the service that they graciously give!! You truly can't put a price tag On service these days. I cannot express how many times they have taken the time to explain things to me that I didnt quite understand. I hate to drop names because then I might leave someone out because they are all filled with beautiful sunshiny smiles. We trust them especially with our purchases of Bernini's products like the 880 plus and the Bernina Longarm Q24 with QMatic. They never pressured us on sales while we took quite a long time reviewing it. They worked with us every step of the way, answering all our questions. Most importantly, with any purchase, you want to make sure they can service it - as far as that goes, it is top drawer service! I love all the ladies!!! I really do!! Disclaimer: This review is for the Old Town Spring location... Great selection of premium quilting fabrics from top brands such as Bennartex, Riley Blake, PBS, Robert Kaufman, and many more! With an abundance of notions and quilting/sewing kits and patterns, it's easy to get lost in all the fun of the craft! I've yet to leave with JUST what I came for, lol! Side note: This is a Bernina/Bernette dealer location, so if you're interested in that line or already own one - this is where you need to be. They frequently offer classes and educational opportunities, so you really can't go wrong. Why the lack of one star? Well... in my early stages of shopping here, I needed something that I couldn't get from a regular supplier and was promised they could get it and had ordered it for me. Several months (and I do mean MANY) later, and I never received a single follow up from my multiple attempts to reach out for status - nor did I get what was supposedly ordered... As a result, I'm not so sure I'll consider them for that again unless I'm in serious need and my trusty supplier can't get it...especially since the outcome only delayed my own project. To their credit, there have been some serious "supplier delays" these days so I wouldn't necessarily say they are to fault. Just for my needs, I could've used some follow-up. Overall, I wouldn't rule out shopping at either CQ location. The fabric selection is plentiful, as are the notions and supplies as I mentioned and the equipment selections are premium if you're a Bernina or Bernette fan. I cannot say enough good things about Cupcake Quilts. Truly a great local business that I return to often. Fabric selection is sensational. Quality of care from all employees is top notch. If you have a Bernina machine - this is the place to go. Not only did I purchase my second Bernina from this location, but I've been in multiple times for service on my old (30+ year old) machine as well as my new one. My latest trip was kind of funny, too, as the stitching wasn't correct and even and I was flipping out - my new machine! I knew something was wrong, so I packed it up. When I got to Cupcake Quilts, I was warmly greeted by name and Brad was retrieved to help me out. Within about 15 or 20 minutes, he had my machine back up and functioning as it should. When I asked how much I owed for his services, I was told, "Oh, nothing." Well, that sealed it for me (as if it wasn't already) -- this is a business that truly takes care of its customers. My wife and I purchased a used sewing machine from their Spring store and was told that it was in top notes condition and only needed a quick cleaning. It was transferred to one of their other stores, where I received a phone call and was told that it needed parts. They could not tell me when the parts would get there or how long it would take to fix the machine that I had just spent thousands of dollars on. Do yourself a favor and take your money elsewhere. I am disabled and use an EMV or wheelchair to get around. I went to Cupcake Quilts yesterday because I was in the market for a new sewing machine and for fabric for a quilt I am planning. Unfortunately, without access to the store, I could not shop there, although there is ample space to install a ramp. Someone did ask if they could help, but if you can't even get into the shop, there isn't much anyone can do! January 1, 2018, I made up my mind that if I could not get into a store, I wouldn't spend my money there. I also said that I would let others know so they wouldn't waste their time either. In today's society, we need to remember that everyone should be able to shop, even those who need wheels to get around! It may not be something all the stores in old Spring can do, but this is a large enough store that it should be doable. read more

After spending 0ver$300 for repair discovered that our Singer was not stitching properly. Called them and apparently they are unable to get Singer parts so we will now have to locate a Singer dealer for parts. Our understanding was that the machine should now be totally operational. We have dealt with them for several years but really disappointed! Do not take a Singer machine to them! read more

Most of the shops in old town Spring or not wheelchair accessible so for the person who gave this shop one star I'm sorry that you couldn't go in but that was very unfair to the shop I love that it's local and in business as many shops are going out of business. Loved this fabric store in Old Town Spring!! It doesn't seem very big when you first walk in, but it's a trick!! This store has tons and tons of fabric!! I felt like every turn I made there was more to look at! Prices are very reasonable and the employees were super helpful and very nice!! This is the cutest fabric store I have seen in a long time. So much fabric and organized. There is a room for thread and a room with machines. All the ladies I talked to were so sweet and friendly. 1-24-2021 - customer service today was not great. This store is cute and has so many things that I love. I normally shop the Humble location. Thought I would stop in on a Sunday and check out this new location. Cute store. Great selection. However the lady attempting to help me with my questions about purchasing a kit for a class was not very personable. Attitude and tone of voice go a long way. She was very condescending and borderline rude. I'll find another store that will accommodate my request for the Kimberbell kit. read more

I can't speak on the Old Town Spring location but I've went to the Humble location twice. Once on a Saturday and it was busy and one day during the week. During the visit during the week I was the only customer on the entire store and not one employee acknowledged or spoke as a matter of fact they went around me. The store has many selections and nice quilt samples and this is my second time going there as I have enjoyed browsing the first time I went there. Though my customer experience on my first trip there was nothing memorable, this time was quite disappointing. I did not have anything specific in mind to buy when I went so just really looking for a good deal. They have fabrics marked with red dot which according to the signs meant 90% off the price. I chose 2 fabrics and proceeded to the cutting table which I waited for a good 10 minutes before any one showed up with a customer. This customer probably had to hunt her down. No other employee in sight to ask questions so when I got to my turn, I politely asked the lady who cuts the fabric as I wanted to make sure the fabric marked with red dot was 90% off. I did not want to waste her time cutting it because I wouldn't take it if it is not. She responded that it was buy 2, get 1 free yard without looking at me. I acknowledged what she said by answering "oh, I thought it was 90% off because of the red dot" to which she rudely said again the "buy 2, get 1 free" and "look at your email, look at your email" like she did not want to be bothered. And why she assumed I get their emails, was just beyond me. Anyway, I did not take any of the fabrics and just thanked her. I had other items I was going to buy so proceeded to the cashier counter which was also not manned. I looked around after few minutes looking to get someone's attention, I saw a lady sitting in front of one one the display machines who looked like may be an employee but she did not look my way. She eventually got up and walked toward the cashier's counter but only picked up a clipboard from behind the counter without acknowledging me. So that was my cue that I did not belong there and left the store without buying anything. read more

Do not take quilts here to be quilted. The job is terrible. They don't start and stop and secure threads they just drag it across the back of the quilt so it looks terrible and will be ripped out in no time. I will have to rip the quilting out and take it somewhere else to have it repaired and requilted. Horrible, horrible. read more

Cupcake has SOOOOOOOO much fabric!!!! Quality and quantity in one store!! The sales staff is super friendly and knowledgeable on techniques and fabric matching! The atmosphere is so cute in Old Town Spring and boy is the location in Humble different from the way it was when it was owned by IAS. If you haven't been to one of the locations, you're missing out! When I buy a Bernina, it'll be from them! It'll give me reasons to go back for guide classes and scope out more fabric! ;) read more

I recently made my first purchase from Cupcake Quilts, and it will be my last. I ordered two different cuts of fabric, two yards each. I received a call last Thursday saying they did not have one of the the fabrics I requested and she didn't know if she could get anymore, as her Boss was in a meeting and she would call me the next day to let me know if she could get the requested fabric or refund my money. I did not here from anyone on Friday, so I called Saturday and had to leave a message to have them call me back and let me know, what was going on. I did not receive a call back. I called again on Monday, no one picked up the phone. I did not leave a message then, but called later that day and did leave another message. After I hung up I received my package with only one fabric but invoiced for two and no note or anything. Called right then and had to leave another message, asking for my money for the missing fabric to be refunded because did not receive the fabric and I again asked for a call back. I never received a call back. I then got on the web site and emailed them. I have not heard back. I do see on line they are closed on Monday, so I did not expect a call back, but after all the messages I have left and an email, I should have had a call back. Thumbs down on Cupcake Quilts. I will be Calling them again to get an answer and a refund. read more
