I NEVER had any trouble accessing my belongings here, HOWEVER one day (Thanksgiving Day) I wanted to make a fast run over to pick up a few items. I didn't realize they would be closed for the holiday, since you do it all yourself (self-actuated auto-gate access). Okay, so I pull up and there was a red SUV pulling in ahead of me and the gate was already opened. The SUV didn't move just stood there not moving, so I drove around it, which should not have been a problem. That's when the proverbial brown goop hit the fan. The creepy female in the SUV yells at me. I rolled down the window, puzzled, when she accosted me quite rudely. She said something about yelling at me, and I didn't listen, and then "DIdn't I know what day it was?" Well yeah it's Thanksgiving..so!! "Well we're not open!" Okay! "Then you have to turn around and leave." Okay bye, have a nice holiday..!! All this seems normal but the problem is the attitude of this woman (mid 30's, blonde, with dark rimmed glasses, and a marathon running suit complete with number). The sole issue I have was she's was treating me as if I was a child, and she was generally and considerably surly in her demeanor. It was like she had no patience or time for anyone trying to get around her, or access the place -- God forbid! Uhhh..How did I know she's the owner or the manager? It was as if I was supposed to somehow know it was her -- whomever it is she's supposed to be. I've lived in this area for 20 plus years and rarely or never have I been accosted in such a RUDE manner since I left New York many years ago. This female curmudgeon really thought she was something else, and I (or apparently everyone) was in some way beneath her. The attitude on this creepy bimbo really left a lot to be desired! If she owned the place she should know better. If she was in a manager's position she should also know better. A smile and an "oops.. sorry we're not open today because of the holiday," would have been really nice! For what it's worth, unless you like being unappreciated as a human being, and if you're looking for a rotten storage facility, this is not the place to store you belongings. The crazy woman in question needs her head examined in my view, if she thinks it's a good way to win a customer's approval, and/or gain new clients by word-of-mouth. I'm pulling my stuff out very very soon, and I'm telling my friends they'd be wise to do the same. The people running it -- in charge -- or in ownership don't appreciate their clients, or the fact that people are all human beings and nominal, common, courtesy is the order of the day, on any day of the year, even on Thanksgiving Day -- maybe especially on Thanksgiving Day. Don't go here. Find another facility where they know how to interact with the people they rub up against.

I was disappointed that a lot of the places I called either had nothing available or were charging somewhat exorbitant prices, for places that weren't in great shape. Fortunately Sunnyvale Self Storage not only had the size unit I needed, but also their prices are reasonable and they keep their spaces clean and well maintained. They're doing a nice job of keeping Covid-19 mitigation efforts implemented, as well.

My storage lockers were broken into three times, and their remedy was to increase the price of the monthly rental to include insurance, not giving you the option to choose insurance, and not compensating you for the loss of your possessions. Insult on injury. There is no staff onsite and there is no bathroom as there used to be when it was owned by Starlite Storage. The staff works remotely from Pacifica, in this area. It is also very difficult for me to place the replacement padlocks they gave me into the doors of the lockers.

These people come in and not even a month goes by and they automatically tack on 10 for renters insurance. When I first moved into the unit over 10 years ago, it was $70 and they never even raised my rent until like five years later. When they did, it was always like 5 dollars. When they finally left my rent was $85. So overall my rent went up $15 in over 10 years. These people come in and within two months my rent was almost 40 dollars higher. They did this in less than 2 months. The worst part folks? They didn't even have the audacity to notify me. They have my email address, my phone number, and my address and instead of just telling me like a decent human being would they just charged my card. When confronted about this. They said they sent an email but it didn't go through. So I asked them, You knowingly sent an email to the wrong address and you saw that it didn't go through and you still thought this was the best way to conduct business after this client has been with this facility for over 10 years? Unbelievable. I will not do business with people that treat their customers this way. I told them I will be taking my stuff out immediately and they told me I can sign the documents the following day at the facility which would've been a Tuesday. Nobody was there on Monday. They told me I have to give them 15 days notice before I evacuate. So now I have to sign these documents tomorrow or the fifteen days notice bleeds into September forcing me to pay more. The lady I spoke with, Victoria, tells me that someone will definitely be there on Tuesday to help me with the paperwork. After finding a sitter for my two-year-old and going down to the facility, nobody is there. These people are beyond inconsiderate. When taking my stuff out of the unit, I notice there is water all over my antique dresser and all over the floor. It's amazing how my stuff was in this unit for over 10 years and I never had a problem. These people come in for less than two months and all this..... Yelp, you need to make it so that businesses can get either zero stars and maybe even a few negatives. This place would get a negative star for sure. People, BEWARE !!! Do not do business with these people. I must mention that this is the facility in Pacifica. These are the type of people that will raise your rent to the highest possibility at EVERY opportunity they can. Be aware.

Diana the storage manager is a great woman I would say hello to when I was in the area, she even let me borrow a ladder I could use in my unit. The units are spacious with his ceilings. I only used the unit for about half a year but had a great overall experience, and would recommend to others. At time of usage, prices for their standard large units probably range from $400-500/monthly. (Your mileage may vary, as property in this area continues to go up up up) One great perk about these facilities is that they have power outlets (which is rare for a storage unit) and internal lighting. Also ability to nail shelves into the walls.
