Both the doctor and front desk women have rude attitude, and their comments often times offensive. They are so impatient even if you are paying big for bare minimum time of their service. I'm surprised people still going there, they have poor service and things they sell have poor qualities. I asked if they would adjust my frames as a walk in. She said yes, spent 30-45 sec making the temple pieces symmetrical, on the table, and handed them back to me. This made the adjustment worse. She went to a table in the shop to help a customer I assume had an appointment, and wouldn't listen since I needed further help. Wow, I am impressed! My buddy raved exuberantly about her shopping experience here many years ago and I just experienced something similar. First off, prescription is a breeze. I like that you can opt out of dilating your eyes. The gentle doctor asked for my old glasses to take prescriptions from, and she thoroughly examined my eyes efficiently with care. And off to picking frames I go. The selection is immense. I said what I like and the hostess immediately grab a bunch for me to try. We did this a bunch of times and I found the pair I like. She is proficient at picking what I like and showing me what they have. So just let them know what you like, price range and all. This turned out to be the best eyewear shopping experience I have had. Their prices are better than most optometrist. You could find better prices online, but I love the selection here. read more

They really take the time to work with you and get what you want. My sister took about an hour to find what she was looking for and they were very helpful. They gave great recommendations and made us feel as though we were family. They have quite the selection of glasses, but we went with the usual Ray-Bans and luckily they had them. Walked in less than a month ago without an appointment and walked out having had an eye exam as well as a contacts fitting. My VSP usually doesn't give me many options for frames, especially frames I like, but I found really cute Burberry frames here that were 100% covered by insurance! Yasss. The optometrist took his time with me; never once did I feel rushed or like I was bothersome with all of my questions. If anything, he was the one keeping up the conversation! Very knowledgeable, approachable, and funny. The staff were very patient in helping me try on dozens of different frames. When I found Gucci frames I really wanted but couldn't afford, they asked me what was my second fave brand and assisted me in finding a similar style for half the price. 5 stars! read more

This review is for my terrible experience when looking for sunglasses here. My sister and I stopped in as it looked like they had a pretty decent selection of sunglasses. My sister was pretty set on purchasing that day as she was tired of her current sunglasses (scratched up) and she couldn't find the sunglasses she was searching for. A salesperson helped us with trying on a number of sunglasses. She wasn't very personable, but that was fine since I was providing review commentary to my sister on each pair of sunglasses. :) After my sister settled on a pair that she liked, she asked for the price. She had noticed that some glasses had price tags and others didn't. The average price tag showing on the other D&G glasses were around $200. The salesperson helping us started to look for the price and the other sales person who had hung out near us to watch all of this said in chinese really quietly: "Try $300". So then the first salesperson puts on an act by grabbing for the calculator and randomly punches in a bunch of numbers for a while and then announces to us that it would be $300. We are astounded by the fact that they were so brazen in trying to cheat us. (My sister and I are Chinese and although we spoke in English, this does not mean we don't know Chinese). So...my advice to you is to RUN for another store instead of trying to buy anything from this place. You'll probably be ripped off here. read more

Hm I've never had any problems here. I can see how the environment can be intimidating for non-Mandarin or non-Cantonese speakers, though. I'm so bad with my glasses that I'll always toss them around, step on them, etc. and I've come here on several occasions to get them fixed, and they always did it on the spot, cleaned the lenses off, free of charge and no questions asked. When I've shopped for glasses or sunglasses, I'd always try on a gazillion pairs all over the store and they've always been really friendly and patient, giving constructive input as I can be so indecisive, and I always ultimately walk out paying below retail. read more

Rude, unprofessional and costly 1. The doctor checked the eye and told that the power has increased, so we ordered new glasses, but the power was not required and started giving headache so I returned and ordered again with the original power. 2. The staff keep speaking in chinese amongst themselves, which is very rude for non-chinese audience like me. 3. When picking the glasses for second time, I asked if they can give me the box to take it, as I do not want scratches. They said they only give one box which they gave when picking up originally, which is true. Then I asked for at-least a cloth so that I can wrap up the glass in that, for that also they showed so much hesitance. 4. I used to visit an optometrist in San Jose, but due to some appointment requirements early I visited them, but found out that the frame they gave was quite costly. I found the same frame online and when showed them that the actual cost online is almost half, they did not seem happy ( expected ) but said they cannot do anything to lower, but I can get my own frame. The contact lens he gave was not even comfortable. I have suffered with it for a year. This year, i went to another Optomety and there they confirmed that Bi-focal is not needed for me. I love everything about Cupertino Village Optometry. From their Covid protocols (limiting capacity, wiping down all frames after each try, scheduling appointments, etc.) to the selections of glasses. It's a beautiful, upscale store with great, exclusive designer brands but also a variety of budgeted selections. I was being seen promptly by Dr. Ma and she was so professional in getting my eyes checked as well as reviewing my history; she did the same for my two sons without feeling the rush to get their examinations done. My older son had perfect eyesight, so he picked out a pair of sunglasses from the ray-ban collection. My younger son had to get a pair of glasses for the first time, so it took him particularly long to try on something that he would love and feel comfortable with. The expertise of the staff is awesome, and Sue also helped us---she was friendly and very helpful to find a frame. Because they have such a large selection of frames, we spent almost 3 hours in the store. They were so patient with us as we were trying on the many frames until we found the pair we absolutely love. For myself on the other hand, I was eyeing to get a pair of Lingberg glasses. They have one of the largest collections with a variety of colors, shapes, and styles. Even though I was kind of distracted by all the other brands they have there, but I finally decided on a pair of Lingberg glasses that I love so much. I cannot wait to go back and get another pair. Btw, a week later, I needed an adjustment to my glasses. Dr. Ma was able to help me get that fixed and even swapped out the nose pads to make it perfectly comfortable for me. Put it simple, DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE!!! UPDATE: ALERT: all 5 stars reviews are probably added by staff themselves. Someone leaving 5 star review (already removed as spam) even send me private message and call me a 'loser'. (I have screenshot for ref). My 3 true stories here: 1: I want to buy a sun-glass at this store. After eye checking and making the payment, I got the glass but feel dizzy and uncomfortable, but they tell me that's normal, and should be comfortable with that within one week. I try almost one week and I can't tolerate, it makes me feel headache, I come back and they check the glass, find the pupil distance (or some other terminology) incorrect. They promise to send it back and repair it soon. It's surprising that it take 1 month to return the glass! They always push the responsibility back to customer. 2: This happens during I adjust the sunglass frame in the store. An unprofessional and unqualified service guy (I am not even sure he is legally authorized to work since he said he was still a college student) help me to adjust my frame, he keep bending the legs. I ask whether that's safe, he said yes, and every glass can be easily bent. He then take my own glass(not purchased from this store) and play with it. Suddenly he cracked the leg of my own glass. That's the only one I have for everyday usage. I feel very offended by what they do to me. 3: The most disappointing one is recently I find my sunglass totally blurred and can't wear. I come to the store directly on Tuesday Sep 27th, they told me it's because the lens melt in a heated situation, like in the car. Firstly, there is another sunglass in my car (also Rayban sunglass) all the time and still good to use, why this one melted? Is that the quality problem of the lens itself? Secondly, I wear the sunglass during driving, and putting it in the car is pretty normal and I find most of my colleagues have this behavior. Why only this one melted? Nobody either doctor or service guy told me about this 'sunglass-car-exclusion' idea when I buy it and get it, at least it's their responsibility to give instruction and warnings for this. They said they will help me to ask the manufacturer, and will call me back on that day or tomorrow . I wait for a whole day without getting any response, and have to 'enjoy' the inconvenience of diving without the sunglass. I called them at around 6pm, they said they talk to the manufacturer but they have no reply. How do people have no reply if you talk to them? Did you actually call? Then they change the words saying they said the manufacturer haven't seen this situation before and can't make decision now, and need to wait before someone higher level making a decision. They suggest me to come and get back the glass and wear it for driving. I feel annoyed because driving with that 'mask glass' is like murdering but obviously they don't care!!! They refuse to give me an estimation of when and how can this issue be solved. I called them again, stating my points clearly that I want a clear response by Sep 29th. I am too naive to wait another whole day, nobody call at all. I leave work early and go to the store directly, they said they call the manufacturer but since their schedule is so full, they don't have enough time to call me back and tell me the response. I can't imagine how busy you are and how many more days they will delay if I didn't come to the store directly. They said they call the manufacturer and they refuse to repair it. I stated my points clearly that the quality of the lens is uncertain and subject to question, and also they can't provide me about the warranty information about the lens or the extra coating. What's more, their attitude is so rude, they talked and laughed to each other without paying any attention when I am talking. I ask to talk to manager directly, they refuse to connect me and ask me to come back tomorrow. I don't have time to come tomorrow, and I feel it's reasonable to escalate the issue to manager if you can't solve the issue. After arguing a while one of them agree to call their manager, but she come to a private room and close the door. I feel extremely fooled, why can't you talk in front of us and describing all the story to manager? Is there any word you don't want me to hear and try to bias the manager? After I stating these questions, she refused to make the call but instead threaten to kick me out and call 911. I feel extremely humiliated because she told 911 that I am 'harassing' the store and stopping them close at 6:00pm. I am just a customer trying to escalate the issue to manager level without any other choices, and I come at 5:30pm, why do you kick me out and close the door before resolving my issue? Then 911 come and peace the thing off. The store claimed to refuse to provide any further service for me and I have to contact vsp myself for any further issue. read more

Mind you I am a -10.00 without contacts and my Mandarin isn't great so I really had no idea where I was going. I stood there in confusion and she literally yelled at me to follow her. Excuse me? Still stunned at her nerve, I blindly figured out which door she actually meant. She couldn't have been more rough when moving my head to fit the machine and was barking out commands the entire test. We decided to ask for the manager, but the receptionist said that the if we waited for 30 minutes we could talk to him when he got back. No thanks, I wanted to leave now. read more

Worst human treatment. I have got a glimpse of communist camp after dealing with them. I took my glasses in for replacing the lenses. They told me to come back after 2 hours. I strolled around in the mall for two hours with blur vision. When I went back with enough headache, the store was already closed! Office Hour was not even over. I couldn't drive home without my glasses. Had to call my husband to pick me up, but could not leave my car over night at the mall either. Had to also call another friend to drive my car home. Conflicted feelings -- they have a large selection of frames (5 stars for that!) but their staff don't really know how to adjust frames (I'd take my glasses and adjust them somewhere else). I have not had an eye exam with them so cannot comment on that. There have been some new hires, for whom it's understandable that they're new at adjusting frames, but their "experienced" folks are no good either (at least the two I've chanced upon in the last year). I'm quite disappointed. I just picked up my glasses today and the lady didn't even look at how the glasses sat on my face, she just adjusted based on me saying "it's loose". They are super-nice here. I go to the optometrist here, and when I broke my glasses (or rather, my husband ran over them, but that's a whole other story...) Philip totally hooked me up. He tried to salvage the frames for me (even though I didn't buy them there), and when that didn't work, he put my lenses in a new pair I bought on ebay (since they didn't carry the same frames there). He only changed me for labor, since the lenses ended up needing to be ground down slightly to fit the new frames. He really went above and beyond. read more

I've come here twice on a walk-in basis. Never had any problems with them. I even referred my sister here, although her experience was different from mine and she has vowed never to go back (she saw a different eye doctor and had different front office help). It is on the expensive end even with my eye insurance. But the two doctors I saw did their job, and the front office was patient with me as I tried on many many frames, and were jovial and professional overall. They had a decent collection of frames for people with delicate features or small heads, but few that would fit my big head. Poor equipment (had to kick the peripheral vision equipment to get it to work), horrible unskilled front desk staff with poor english and general communication skills. The Optometrist, a young oriental girl, although raised and educated in US (probably), was cold and had below par communication abilities.
