I actually enjoy my appts with Dr Yang. She is always friendly, helpful and informative. She answers all of my questions, and more. I have better peace of mind about my eyes with her high-tech tests. The tests are quick and there's no discomfort. Even when the test results and the Rx doesn't change (compared to last year), I'm still glad I went! I leave knowing that my eyes are in good shape for the coming year. Dr. Yang is very kind and very thorough when checking my eyes for any issues. I had an appointment and there was a slight delay, but worth it as my past visit was very pleasant. The place uses very high tech machinery that detects if there's any issues with eyes, and Dr. Yang explains very thoroughly on how each machine works. I had some concerns for my eyes (someone flashed a laser into my eye for god knows how long) and Dr.Yang reassured me I was fine. She'll answer any questions you have and make sure you leave with all questions answered. Highly recommend if you need a quick eye appointment and prefer having some retina imaging to your eyes with someone who can explain it to you. Have VSP insurance stay away! Been a patient for several years. She clearly has a lot of business now, patient care has dropped. Wait for weeks to get an appointment, you are few minutes late, doctor does not want to see you even though she does not have any patients. I have waited everytime in the past. So no thank you for your understanding Not to mention the several times, i was told to get a retina scan because those expensive machines are not getting used. If you are looking for a convenient regular eye check ups give this a pass. Target insurance system is already bad, getting VSPs claim is hard. Because vsp has marked them as fraudsters. These guys are too busy now. No time attend customers. It's been 9 months I have been wearing lens of wrong prescription, when I complained about it and mentioned it's aggravating my dry eyes, she said nothing can be done. I wanted to change the brand of lenses as I felt it wasn't hydrating enough, again same thing- she said nothing can be done. I'm glad to have found a new/and different optometrist. My eyes are much happier now. I don't recommend this place-but you can risk it if you want to. read more

However, I did not received on the date it should be. I called them and they were super friendly and helpful to find another way to help me get the contact lens sooner. Her clinic office resides next to the optics/glasses dept in the Target on the right of the pharmacy. As a physician, I know great patient care when I experience it, and Dr. Christine Yang embodies it. I needed a change of contact lens Rx after my cataract surgery, and have an unusually challenging right cornea, which in the past has needed a special custom-made lens device costing thousands of dollars in order for me to see at all clearly. Dr. Yang had me try one lens after another and finally was able to fit me with both right and left soft contacts that enable me to see well. She and her staff are patient and kind, always responsive to questions, and 100% professional. Plus, the cost of exam and contact lens Rx, including as many trial lenses as I needed until we figured out the best resolution, was 1/3 that of the optometrist associated with my ophthalmologist's office. tldr; Need to get your eyes checked? Come here! I recently lost my vision insurance and needed an eye exam. Target had the best out of pocket price for exam and dilation, so I booked a 4PM appointment a few days prior. I checked into my appointment at the glasses store next door, and waited a bit for my appointment. She sounded very polite while trying to resolve an issue with the patient before me. Not sure what was going on, but Christine kept a very professional and customer-friendly demeanor. When I went into for my turn, she was very open and made great conversation. She also made sure to explain everything she was doing in detail, and why it was necessary. The exam was quick, around 15 minutes and another 30 for the dilation (including wait and exam.) Honestly, I haven't had an exam this quick in a very long time. My old optometrist kept us waiting for quite awhile. Christie's great and I highly recommend anyone who needs a routine exam to come here! read more

Dr. Shah is very nice and knowledgeable. She made my eye exam very easy and painless. She explained and helped me understand my eyes/the eyes in an easy way. It gets pretty busy, being that it's inside Target. But all the young ladies working next door (three of them) were really nice and helped everyone out in a timely manner. The frame/prescription for my glasses were a bit pricey, but it has to do with insurance coverage too. I'll have to shop around for my glasses. I may go back to get them though. We will see.... I've been going to her since 2015, and she's very professional, friendly, and the customer service her team provides is fantastic! (It's also a plus that she's located inside target, because I am able to do some shopping) Working with insurances and figuring out how much is covered is usually a pain in the butt, but her team is able to tell you you exactly what's covered and give you your best options. If after you are fitted with contacts or glasses, you feel like the prescription isn't perfect, she'll be more than happy to do a re-exam and issue you new glasses/new contacts (contacts need to be unopened). I also really like how her team will give you a reminder call before your appointment and after the appointment, she will give you prescription cards and will also email you your prescription. read more

I was looking for a new optometrist and asked a bunch of my friends for referrals. Then I decided to look on yelp and I couldn't believe that there was an optometrist in my neighborhood target! I read all the glowing reviews and decided to make an appointment. I have been to this target on a weekly basis since it opened and I never noticed the office. When I arrived at the office there was a sign to go over to the area where they sell glasses. So I walked over and Dr. Yang was there. She was very professional and friendly. She gave me some great advice re: my dry eyes and provided me with some sample contact lenses. She is very thorough and honest. I went home and raved about her to my husband. He says he will make an appt to see her next time he needs his eyes checked. P.S. She will be going on maternity leave soon so hurry in and get your eyes checked! P.S.S. Dr Yang's office is inside of Target, and may be considered out of network for VSP (check your plan!), but she's wonderful and worth it. She has high quality equipment, does the exams very carefully and is very present during the appointments (you can tell she's not just churning people through, she's really engaged, listens, & gives thoughtful feedback). She doesn't try to hard-sell or upsell. You check in at the Target Optical store-within-a-store, and then you see Dr Yang in her little office adjacent, then you can get your rx filled through Target. They have a decent frame selection; you're not going to find the very high-end designers, but they have Coach, Kors, Rayban, etc. You can also take your rx to be filled elsewhere. The folks at this Target Optical are pretty great too, very kind and helpful! read more

Feel like a sucker for spending $100 (after ins) on a pair of Rx glasses that are less helpful than the $35 CVS reading glasses I bought after finding the prescribed Target glasses to be useless. I didn't see Dr Yang but I found the other doctor to be friendly and sounded competent enough. The equipment here is less advanced than the last optometrist I visited in Santa Barbara a few years back (Eye & Vision Care) and I feel resulted in a less comprehensive exam than I was accustomed to. DO NOT GO HERE. THIS OFFICE BLEW MY PHONE UP ALL WEEK ASKING FOR INSURANCE INFORMATION. Like "are you fucking serious right now?!?" Ive given them the general Information of the type of vision insurance I have. But I didn't want to give them everything because I don't want them to gauge it and see what and how they can rob me for. I am a HR professional, I know my out of pocket, copays, etc... I have a appointment with them this week. All week, they've been blowing up my phone not asking for me to confirm my appointment but rather to give them my insurance information. The day of my appointment, some lady named holly (I think?) left with me message saying "call back with insurance or cancel appointment." WTF is that?!? Screw them. I have VSP basic and I've had it for years. I've been wearing contacts for years. And all I need is a basic optical health exam and a updated prescription. Am I not worth your time? So screw you and your staff. I'm taking my business elsewhere. Copays deductibles and out of pocket all together. That kind of business motto- you might as well just have a gun and just jump people for their worth. read more

Dr. Yang was very informative and informed me about the condition of my eyes that my previous optometrist failed to mention (Astigmatism in both eyes.) She was very thorough when answering my questions and by the time we were finished I learned how to better take care of my eyes and what steps I should take to prevent my eyesight from getting worse. After hearing my concerns and lifestyle she recommended a specific type of lenses that would cater to my needs. She wrote two prescriptions one for daily use and one for computer use and suggested the blue light filter since I sit behind a computer 8-12 hours a day. I also chose dilation during my exam but this was something I was dreading because light sensitivity is never fun. I also didn't want the rest of my day to be restricted to a dark room so I was happy to hear they have an alternative procedure in place of dilation. I opted for the alternative option which was this camera that took a close up picture of my eye while shining a bright green light. She pulled up the images and explained what she was checking for. She pointed out where you could see a bit of cholesterol traveling through the arteries in the eye, but reassured me that those were normal levels. She stated that my eyes were healthy and when I asked what else this camera can see and she explained that she also checks for tears or lacerations in the eye, cancer, etc. My eyes are usually something I tend to neglect (hence my poor eye sight.) but I feel like for once I'm informed and taking steps to take better care of them. I feel like I'm in good hands with Dr. Yang and I would recommend her to my friends and family. My boyfriend who also shares the same insurance will be seeing her soon. read more

Amazing! Called right before they closed on a Wednesday night and they were able to schedule me the next day! I have been doing annual eye exams for the past 17 years and had Lasik eye surgery 1.5 years ago- Dr.Yang is beyond impressive! She is quick, thorough, professional and gives great advice. She is truly patient-oriented and I really respect that. The Optic Center at Target is beyond convenient because of their location and who doesn't always need something from the store?! Also, they are open late during the week (7pm) so overall it is a must place to go to! They take VSP and make the process really easy. For anyone reading these reviews they are all legit! I know some places give kickbacks for a "good review" this is one of the rare times where I can say this is a 5+++ star review. My experience... I was busy at work so never got around to schedule an appointment for the eye doctor before year end. I decided to try something new that would fit in with my schedule and found Dr. Yang. Normally I wouldn't think of getting my eyes checked inside Target but after reading the reviews and thinking it be easy for me to pick up my contacts and glasses since I go to Target weekly! Scheduling the appointment: Didn't have to call (a lot of places only have that option). I scheduled it online (on Christmas Eve!) and I rec'd all the reminders and confirmations via email. Was very happy how easy it was to confirm and schedule, beats staying on hold :) The actual appointment: They were pretty busy so I wasn't seen until a little after my scheduled appointment. The entire staff was friendly and it was no problem for me... (I seen eye doctors who are behind an hour... this was no where near that). What was refreshing to see if that Dr. Yang was actually answering questions and cashiering herself. During the exam Dr. Yang was professional and personal. (really rare when going to the doctor!) No stress w/ all the test (most doctors I have been run that puff test 100 times). She was very detailed when figuring out my prescription since it was my first time there and I forgot what it was. At the end of the exam she gave me a sample of new contacts to try. She wasn't pushing them or anything (they were new to her) but just to see if I liked them. Post Exam: Got fitted for glasses took advantage of a Target promo. The optical staff was just as friendly. After I got home I had a question re: insurance and bill (doctor visit was sep. from glasses/contacts on invoice). I did ask a lot of question that were answered by the staff but they were for glasses/contacts. Dr. Yang replied and made sure I had all the information I needed. I want to say that I probably paid a little more out of pocket w/ my insurance (because of networks) however given the service and ease of the whole experience it didn't even cross my mind to check nor would it have impacted my decision to come back in the future. I absolutely hate calling places to make an appointment, so I'm glad that I was able to easily make an appointment online. You'll also receive a text message reminder! Dr. Yang is great! She's personable, sweet, and knowledgable! The entire exam was easy to follow, and I felt very comfortable around Dr. Yang. The exam area was neat and clean. She sanitized everything in front of me before I came into contact with it. The total for my eye exam was $55 (students get a $5 discount)! I didn't buy any glasses after the appointment, and Dr. Yang was completely fine with it. There was no pressure to buy anything at all. Dr. Yang is the best optometrist I have ever had the pleasure of visiting! I wish all medical providers could be as awesome as her. She was very informative, honest, genuine, & made sure that all of my questions and concerns were clearly answered. Excellent experience! I immediately felt comfortable with Dr. Yang as soon as I met her. Came in for an eye exam for my yearly contacts and glasses prescription. It was easy to make an appointment over the phone, and I came right in on a weekday (Fri). The price for the exam is super competitive to Costco's price. Also, the staff that work with Dr. Yang is awesome. She made sure to let me know that if I have AAA or certain types of insurance I can get a discount on my contacts :) I appreciate that Dr Yang took the time to educate me. She made sure not to overprescribe me as well. She also introduced me to an awesome new brand of contact lenses that make my eyes less dry. I would highly recommend her!! read more
