Just bring your unneeded clothing, shoes and purses and who doesn't have that what they do is have these tables and racks to hang and layout your clothing where we are allowed to browse and see the potential item you like to add to your wardrobe. Also there is The Skin Institute with students ready to provide a consultation on your skin condition and products they'd recommend to treat it. I had a delightful student Esthetician named Sstarr and went over my skin which I assumed and the course of products she recommend, along with a coupon for 10% off facial is a great start to a glowing complexion. I did find a shirt but wasn't really looking for a swap like so many here were delightfully enthusiastic just to see it going somewhere that will be loved and appreciated than the trash or lost in the donation bin, which isn't where what's left is going to a non-profit...fabulous! Once the swap was basically done I did get to browse around the area which looked like a fun lofty vibe with different pods and seating area and kitchen is super cute! A free pop-up movie in Honolulu...at Impact Hub!…read more Amy found a free movie through Eventbrite and I was so excited to go! I've always wanted to see "Won't You Be My Neighbor?" and this was it! Yay! Thanks, Amy! I actually parked for free right across the street at Whole Foods. Impact Hub does have it's own parking lot, and you can get validation. Inside, the workspace (available for rent) is clean, colorful, and spacious. There are restrooms, showers, telephone booths, desks, chairs, tables, a kitchen with microwave, and a plain white wall for projections... This is where we gathered and watched the story of Fred Rogers of the television show, "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood". This venue was perfect for a casual get together. Tonight's event was sponsored by PBS. There was a good variety of snacks - and water was available in reusable cups. Afterwards, I realized that I had been here before. My friend's wife graduated from esthetician school at this place! Wow...it's a versatile space!

HSO Lunar New Year 2026 Year of the Horse…read more I purchased tickets in row E, seats 46-44 on the right-hand side of the balcony as these seats gave us an unobstructed view of the stage and the performers. This was a very eclectic program, with music from China, Vietnam, Korea, as well as compositions by Liszt and Rossini. The guest artists were Lin Cho-Liang (violin) and Sophia Liu (piano). We got to our seats at 7:20pm and were dismayed to find the concert hall less than half full. Where is everyone? Perhaps they couldn't find parking as there were two other events at the complex. The HSO was in fine fettle and conductor Dane Lam was especially animated. Excitement was in the air! After music from China and Vietnam, Lin Cho-Liang came out to perform He Zhanhao's and Chen Gang's composition, The Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto ... fabulous! However, the highlight of the evening for me was 16-year-old Sophia Liu playing Liszt's Piano Concerto #1 in E-flat major. It was a bravura performance! She returned later to perform the penultimate piece, Xian Xinghai's The Yellow River Piano Concerto. Those of you that failed to attend this concert missed out; she is someone to watch. The HSO ended the evening with Rossini's William Tell Overture. My SIL and I loved every minute of this concert. All I can say is ... WOW! Highly recommended! Let's all get out and support the HSO!

What I got instead was a frustrating, misleading, and frankly gross experience. I arrived 10 minutes early, but it took 15 minutes just to figure out how to get inside--no clear signage, no instructions, nothing. Once I finally entered, there was no one at the front desk, and I had to wander the space on my own. There was no room labeled "podcast." I eventually found a door marked "film room," which looked nothing like the photos online--just a cluttered storage closet with some lights shoved inside. No one around seemed to know where the podcast room was, either. I waited 30 minutes into my scheduled time before a passerby (who didn't even work there) finally helped me find the space. Surprise: the podcast room was, in fact, that sad little closet. Tiny table, no real setup, no podcasting equipment in sight--unless you count the pile of random gear tossed haphazardly into a nearby closet. I genuinely feared opening it would cause an avalanche. To make matters worse, the room was filthy--clumps of human hair on the floor, cheap materials, and absolutely not the "fully soundproofed" space advertised. I tried recording, but the background noise from other rooms bled clearly into my audio. This was a total bait-and-switch. Unlabeled, unstaffed, unsanitary. If you're looking for a legitimate place to podcast or record, do yourself a favor and stay far away. Hawaii Coworking is not ready for professionals.

This bold stone former public works building has the distinction of being designed by the same architect of the luxurious Moana Hotel (The First Lady of Waikīkī), Oliver G. Traphagen. The Community Center is open weekdays only from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. They do offer services and programs dedicated to the seniors, their families and community. They feature class programs which one can sign up through annual membership of NKM (Nā Kūpuna Makamae) and classes are held on Tuesday through Friday. They offer classes such as Hawaiian Language, Culture & Literture, Tai Chi for Arthritis & Fall Prevention, Lauhala Weaving, Qigong Mindful Training, Pua Culture/Lei Making, Hanafuda, Hula and Yoga & Sound Bath. They offer programs to acquaint the elderly with the digital age so they can overcome their "fears" or hesitancy to learning something new. There are programs geared for the more tech savvy, too. Annual membership to NKM costs $20/single or $35/dual (2 per family). However, as fans of Farmers' Markets, we made note of the schedule that Jessica posted and it was our plan to check it out. The Farmers' Market is held monthly on the 2nd and 4th Friday from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM (as supplies last). We walked through the open parking lot where there were 5 food vendors who pitched their tents featuring various foods. I suppose it was because we were there just at noon, there was just a smattering of customers who also were discovering this senior center. The vendors that we saw were: - Olay's Thai Express - Aloha Beef Chips - Papi's Empanadas - The Pig & The Lady - Hawaii Sugarcane Juice We walked into the air-conditioned building and found more vendors selling baked goods, fresh fruits & vegetables, lip care products, local fragrances and cosmetics and press-on nails. There was a Community Center worker who graciously provided us with brochures and informed us about the upcoming programs that they hold in this building and membership to NKM. NKM is expanding its campus and even offers this historic site as venue rental. We purchased a couple of fresh papayas and eggplants for only $5 from the gal who was stationed at that table. I considered purchasing a hand of apple bananas but I thoughtfully considered the fact that my husband would be the one carrying our purchases so I didn't want to add more weight into that bag as we walked to this Community Center. As we stepped out of the building, there were more customers (nearby workers from other businesses or other residents) who were buying their lunches and beverages from the vendors in the parking lot. It was good to see more people exploring the Farmers' Market and this Community Center. We're looking forward to becoming members of Nā Kūpuna Makamae and taking part in some of those classes.

I've been here twice and my opinion it was fun but very interesting place. Recommended by my older brother who frequents Cafe Den Mau often. Located at the Yee Hop Plaza on North King Street, same building as Hawaii Dim Sum & Seafood, (after our dinner there) we went straight up to the 2nd floor. Note getting to Cafe Den Mau is a little sketchy, scary in the building but once you arrive its not as bad after all. hehe. You will enter a long corridor, the 2nd floor looks abandoned, old, but there are other businesses in this plaza. The size of Cafe Den Mau is small but perfect, there are a few tables, even a stage with disco lights, drums, and piano. Kind of like in Vietnam although I haven't been but this is what I heard from another customer. husband Jimmy and wife team runs the karaoke spot from 9-2 am nightly. ( best to call if you plan to visit, have questions, or would like to reserve a table or private party.) limited drinks, mostly beer and wine are available, free to bring wine with a fee. ( $20.-30) per bottle. We brought 3 bottles during my first visit with my siblings. You can also bring pupus. Selecting songs are easy, all digital. All songs are available, both our visits, seems like we all were happy with selecting our song choices. We all enjoyed ourselves, first time experience. We even went up to the stage to sing, dance and receiving fake colorful flowers with $1.tip. Fyi, If you do receive flowers with tip, that will belong to the owners.
