We went there for a birthday party, we almost went to the wrong place thinking of the veteran hall off sand island. This one is located in the salt lake area and the name is Oahu Veterans Center the other off sand island is the Disabled Veterans Center. We were surprised when we got there it has a park and large parking area. The hall is air conditioned and the hall was clean with large restrooms located outside of the hall. They brought in their own food and pupu and they had shave ice, pop corn, cotton candy, pork hash and full bar! Restroom was clean and handicap accessible. read more

Celebrating the graduate... After much discussion this is the venue decided and can see why with lots of free parking on site and the rooms are very spacious as well with about 20+ tables for close to 200+ occupancy it was nice and spacious along with Photo Booth and buffet setting, stage for the MC and slide show fit all perfectly. There was also a bouncy house for the kids outside is a nice touch. I had a great time and liked this venue it's so nice though with a full house did get quite hot, cheers to the Class of 2025! My sister them rented this place for a party, the lady there was all in our buisness taking her job very seriously, a little to serious. On top of that she helped herself with our food ??? Which was interesting??? I don't recommend this place if you're having a party and want to party and deal with a lady who won't let you guys have fun or be loud. read more

The the space SURE! Worth the price & for what comes with it too! However, it's always booked. You'd have yo book MONTHS in advance. Our mistake every time. But we've been here for meetings, parties, events & it's a really good location for everyone, kids included. They have open grass lawn area for the kids to run around if needed. They have parking. Street parking if needed. They're also located in a residential area so... although they have music loud noise, party must be done by 10pm or 8pm (Sundays) out by 12 (midnight) or 10 (Sundays). Not bad! And that's a good time too! These all nighters can be a bit ridiculous at times. Cops end up coming yo shit down the party. So yeah... this is a good place for everyone. read more

This was the perfect place to hold my Father's Celebration of Life. The staff was easy to work with and very accommodating, especially Holly, she was very sweet and kind and was attentive to our needs throughout the event. The space was definitely worth the price we paid, air conditioned, quiet spot, good amount of parking, clean hall and clean restrooms, easy to find and grounds are well kept. The elderly lady that runs the place, her name starts with a J, made our celebration party very unpleasant. Our kids constantly complained to parents all night that they were getting scolded because they were noisy. But Oahu veterans center allowed a bounce house for then to play in. ??? She has a foul mouth too and told the DJ, "I don't give f**k" when the DJ tried to play a last song for the celebrant because she wanted the music to stop but it was 9:55pm and according to contract the music stops at 10pm. This is a very nice place to have parties but if you have kids, I would not recommend having kids around a lady who runs the place that scolds them and then uses foul language when she feels her authority is challenged. Our group having many Vets opted to have our group Christmas Party here. I thought it would be too small. However, after a visit I could see it would be more than adequate. We took Ballroom 1 which could be combined with Ballroom 2 to double the size. We did not need to do that. It can hold up to about 140 people, built-in audio system with 2 handheld microphones (CD, radio, ipod), podium, large screen for presentations, wireless internet interface, Kitchenette and restroom on the premises. Check the website for restrictions, booking and rates with contact information. We were allowed to bring our own food, but more importantly our own holiday spirits. I was allowed to tape a couple banners to the wall using painters tape. That made my job very easy instead of using grids to put up themed background banners for selfie picture taking There's a couple handicap parking stalls too. Parking is limited in the designated lot but there is plenty street parking for free. In the end, our club had a wonderful Christmas Party and will consider this location for many of our events. We highly recommend these rooms to everyone too. To get the rate and to find room would best fit your event go to their webpage, dial their number to get that information. I didn't know that this place existed until yesterday. They had some event for veterans and I went with my husband. It was the Vet Aid '16. They had booths to inform the vets of their rights and benefits. Thanks to all the sponsors. They provided snacks, drinks, and a bento lunch. My husband also got the help he needed. This place is located at Foster Village. There's quite a few parking spaces. The rooms are huge and clean with AC. I believe that you can rent out the place for your function. This venue is well kept and maintained. It's really easy to find. Directly across Radford high school in the residential area. I've already been here on 2 occasions and would consider this a venue for a future birthday party or graduation. So much grass around for the kiddos to run loose with a playground on a hill. Parking lot can get jam packed during any party occasion thrown here. Plenty street parking available just be courteous when passing peoples houses quietly. OVC is conveniently located in Foster Village near Radford High School. They have different size rooms to fit your event needs. Each room comes equipped with AC, chairs, tables, screen, and pretty much all your needs for hosting a professional event to hosting a party. Their rates are super affordable. They are booked up fairly quickly so calling and booking ahead is highly recommended. I'm really unsure how to rate this place as I've never been there. However, I was very much apart of this center growing up in Foster Village when this was a community center, with a pool, snack/grill area in the late 1960's & early 70's. Good to know it's being used for our Veterans!! Just got to question WHY wasn't any of the Hall's named after any local/Hawaiian Veterans?! As there have been SO MANY LOCAL/Hawaiian and part Hawaiian women & men that have served our in SO MANY of the wars ... WW II, Korea & Vietnam. Where to begin with the oahu veterans center!! Let's just say the office ladies are amazing! Go and see Joy she was VERY helpful from beginning to end for my baby's 1st birthday party! VERY ACCOMMODATING and ORGANIZED! Must I not forget she was super nice and open about any questions or concerns we had! OVC was amazing since the very beginning! We were having our party in July and wanted to book our vendors early because of graduation season. I looked around quite a bit and settled on OVC because they were the perfect package! They have three halls available for you to choose from, all with different capacities. They offered REALLY really good prices and discounts for military, of course. Their halls were air conditioned, which I knew would be appreciated because our party would take place in the afternoon, in the middle of the summer. They provided the tables, chairs, and cleaning supplies. It had a small room towards the back of the hall that was used to store the tables and chairs, but could also be used for the food tables. This allowed us to add in more tables for guests. They post their hall schedule on their website, which was definitely helpful in looking for an available opening. I was torn between a few dates and gave Claire (executive director of OVC) my options so she could help me figure out what date to choose. I actually asked about one specific date, but it was reserved for another party, but not confirmed. Claire contacted that party to confirm with them, but as soon as they backed out, she contacted me to let me know that the date was available for me! I went the next day to fill out paperwork and pay the deposit to secure the hall. She took me and my bf on a tour of the hall and we instantly fell in love with the place! Since we booked it so far in advance, Joy called me to remind me that the payment due date was coming up, which was SO helpful. It was honestly at the back of my head because I was so busy party planning! The day before the party, Joy called me to go over how tomorrow would go down and answered any questions I had. All in all, I completely recommend Oahu Veterans Center, hands down! Amazing and prompt service from the team. I will definitely book them again for our future parties. read more

It's time to celebrate good times. I have been here twice and each time parking is tough. It's seems to always rain when I park on the grass. And the reason I have to park on the grass is because the Center always seems to have all three of their halls rented at the same time. The veterans center is a great place to rent a hall. In this case, I was celebrating a 1st birthday. The particular venue we occupied is fairly large and my best guess is it seated about 200 people inside. There was also outside tables and chairs covered by a canopy. The rental comes with tables and chairs and a large prep room for the food. It's bring your own food and drinks and utensils. Coolers and frig are provided. You can use of their speaker system but you do have to bring your own projector and audio equipment. The audio is very good and very crisp. Not like those airline announcements where you give that confused look and your inside voice goes "What that???" All the rooms are separated and the only time you will see the other patrons from different parties is in the lanai or in the clean restrooms. That night there was another birthday celebration and an AA Meeting. I felt guilty drinking a Heineken outside. TIP: Drink responsibly and have a DD or you'll be going to the AA soon enough. It's pay first and clean up to get your deposit back deal. TIP2: Leave early so you can avoid the rush and not feel too guilty about not helping clean the up. Or just be drunk and hide outside (after the AA meeting). Overall four stars. Building and surrounding areas are clean and well maintained. Use of the audio and prep kitchen plus. Use of chairs and tables plus. Parking ok and ability to get to the lot ok. All this writing has made me thirsty. It's just before noon. Time for a drink. I meant water. Perfect place to hold special events! i've been here many times on many different occasions for family and friends and this place is perfect. there's a lot of parking space, lots of space outside of the building, you can either have the doors open or closed and there's also a stage for entertainment as well. i love this place and if i ever decide to host an event, this is def another place i would highly consider! read more

I attended a conference here. I want to say that the space was appropriate for a smaller group. We were completely packed like sardines in the room. No space whatsoever to even pull your chair out completely. I blame that on the state for setting us up that way. Parlking is also limited and had to park in the residential area. THEN to top it off...during our conference they had to announce that cars wer being ticketed by the police LOL. Again, this place would be great for a small group of people...about 75 I would say. This place has its own restrooms for men and women, a parking lot, grassy area (if you want to have a bouncer), a kitchen area connected to a large room (food was served in here for my friend's party), the huge party/meeting room area, and there's a separate small room where they store cleaning supplies, mops, brooms, and have a sink. Claire was a godsent for us when we decided to rent out the Mauka Hall for our wedding reception. We did multiple visits to OVC to keep looking at the hall and figure out how to set things up. Looking for a decent size hall and price for your party planning? This is a venue to definitely look at. Located in Foster Village, Oahu Veterans Center is a fantastic location to hold your organization event or party. This place is very cleaning and accommodating. They provide trash bags, lots of tables & chairs, and a small kitchenette (Mauka & Ballard hall), & lots of parking (you can park on the grass now). Also since it is in a residential area, there are open street parking. They have their own VERY CLEAN restrooms (2 women & 1 men restroom), grassy area for bouncers OR tents (just make sure to use weight rather than stakes), and a separate room where they store cleaning supplies, mops, brooms, etc. This venue is open to the public. Military and Foster Village residents at a discounted price. They have 3 separate halls. Mauka Hall with a capacity of 280 Ballard Hall with a capacity of 235 Makai Hall with a capacity of 65 Make sure to call and see if your preferred event date is open. This place is known to get booked real fast. A deposit required (if I remember correctly it's $300) & if you have a party here, and you got to make sure you clean everything to get your deposit back (sweep/mop, pick up trash, empty out the trash bins, etc.) We just threw my daughters 1st birthday here which was originally set for September but had to be rescheduled in October due to Hurricane Lester, overall everything went well. What I like the most is that there is no need to have officers on site for a party. They have their own party monitor to see what's going on. Jenny and Joy are very welcoming and accommodating. Being the only party at the venue was a plus. We were able to use the outside area as well. I would definitely recommend this venue spot for any event. read more

This place is okay to hold a small event. Make sure you don't overbook too many guests for your party because it accommodates about 280 people(as the sign says). I've been here for several parties and they had too many guests. For daytime parties, it gets too hot and uncomfortable. With too many guests, it's also hard to pass in between tables to get back to your seat. read more

We had a memorial service for my father in law at OVC this week and we were so happy we went with this venue. Great location (in Foster Village area) away from town traffic, the staff (Gerry & Joy) were ABSOLUTELY wonderful to work with, venue is clean, ample parking and reasonably priced. The large room accommodates 250 people. There is a smaller room that accommodates around 60 people as well. I highly recommend this place! read more
