This party venue was absolutely amazing!!! Here are the many reasons why I would highly recommend: * I planned an entire party from the mainland and Burt (the point of contact) was wonderful to communicate with, even with a 6 hour time difference. He was very thorough with his information and what my expectations could be *multi level garage with FREE parking *the venue...oh, the venue!!! It was huge. Our party was for about 80 people, but it can easily hold triple that. The venue supplied all tables and chairs...you get to bring everything else. Being able to pick my own caterer, decorator, etc...was perfect. Burt coordinated with me to get all vendors in on time and allowed me to store things a bit earlier if needed. *the bar tenders were phenomenal!!! My drink was never empty and so many guest had great compliments for the waitress and bar tender *the in house DJ was excellent. He had the entire group, from 25-75 years old, dancing *the price was ridiculously inexpensive. B Side is truly there to provide an amazing venue for ohana to come together I want to move to Honolulu so I can do more parties here

Graduation Celebration in Honolulu, Hawaii... Remember the good old days when we used to go to Ryan's at the Ward Centre and enjoy each other's company? Well... You can create more happy memories at the former Ryan's... Consider BSIDE lounge + venue for your next event! My sister is a fantastic party planner! She just needed a venue to make her ideas a reality! She heard of BSIDE lounge + venue by word of mouth. Her caterer, decorations team, and set up crew were all in place and ready to go! Good points: * Free covered parking, but low ceiling for taller vehicles * Clean, convenient restroom * Efficient bartender also operated the sound system * Two security guys at the door carded guests, applied appropriate wristbands, didn't let minors go in and out without their parents, and helped us clean up * Servers were efficient and helpful. They removed used plates and wiped tables down when we were leaving * Lots of tables for receptionists, gifts, supplies, cake, party favors, etc * Spacious enough for our party of about 150 people, but can go up to maybe 200? We arrived at 3pm to set up for the 5pm start time. The numerous tables in the front served as our assembly line to create the unique centerpieces. We were able to place the centerpieces on high top tables for two, low coffee tables, and long tables for groups. The variety of seating areas accommodated couples and families alike! The competent bartender doubled as the sound system guy. He turned out to be the manager - and also the guy who unlocked the door for us when we arrived. Sam is the jack of all trades! The food station was manned by my brother-in-law, some friends, and my nephew. They refilled the Hawaiian cuisine from the warmers. The food was catered by Kanak Attack Two. They provided all of the serving spoons and tongs. If you don't have a caterer, BSIDE will give you a list of suggestions. Burt Kawasaki is the gracious and friendly owner of BSIDE lounge + venue. He, his wife and children stopped in to congratulate my niece on her accomplishments! Thanks to Burt and his staff for a very successful Graduation Party! My family and I highly recommend BSIDE lounge + venue for your future party needs! Note: we brought our own tablecloths, party favors from Paradise Kettle Corn, utensils, foil, ziplock bags, napkins, takeout containers, and paper plates.

I'll admit, it was a little confusing to find at first, but after asking around, we finally made our way there and I'm glad we did! FOOD Lobster Gyoza Four delicious pieces served with gyoza sauce. Each one had a nice sized piece of lobster inside, and the flavor was spot on. The gyoza had that perfect savory bite, and the sauce brought everything together beautifully. Open-Faced Baguette Three pieces topped with creamy burrata, prosciutto, and sun-dried tomato pesto. The combination of creamy, salty, and slightly sweet flavors made these a really enjoyable bite. DRINKS Mojito Hands down, one of the best mojitos I've had! It was crisp, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. The bright citrus and fresh mint made every sip incredibly refreshing without being overly sweet. Definitely a drink I could happily sip on all night! Espresso Martini I normally don't order espresso martinis because, honestly, I haven't had many that impressed me. But THIS one completely changed my mind. Hands down the best espresso martini I've had! Smooth, rich, and delicious with just the right balance of coffee flavor and sweetness. I'd absolutely order this again. DESSERT Kona Espresso Tiramisu Of course, we had to end the night with dessert! This tiramisu was absolutely delicious. It came out in a fun, unique ball shape rather than the traditional presentation, which made it a little more interesting. The coffee and espresso flavors were rich and delicious, and every bite was so good. My only complaint? I wished there was more of it! All in all, a really good way to finish the meal. LIVE MUSIC Live music starts at 8:30 p.m., and who doesn't love a little live music with their cocktails and pupus? The evening featured a talented duo with a piano player and cello player, and they sounded fantastic together. The combination of piano and cello created such a beautiful, mellow atmosphere. It added just the right touch of elegance while still keeping the lounge feeling relaxed and comfortable. It really elevated the entire evening and made it feel like more than just going out for drinks and food. SERVICE Our waitress was extremely attentive and on point throughout the evening. She made sure we were taken care of without being overbearing, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Lewer's Lounge turned out to be such a great find! From the delicious food and seriously impressive cocktails to the attentive service and beautiful live music, everything came together for a really enjoyable night. And as far as date night goes, this place definitely gets my vote. Whether you're looking for a relaxed evening with someone special, cocktails with friends, or just a place to enjoy some great live music, Lewer's Lounge has the right vibe.

There's no: "Moonglow" (Benny Goodman) or "That was my heart" (honor to Ella Fitzgerald), so I asked for my favorite aperitif, "Dubonnet" , no. But, they came up with my other favorite, sambuca Mist. I have to agree with another reviewer that the French baguette served with the charcuterie was hard as could be and inedible. I did not enjoy the choice of cheeses as they were both of the same hard boring tastes, unimaginative, mix it up. They olives should be pitted. The tiramisu dessert was very delicious, even though very small, but expected--after all its fine dining. I have no other way to tell new manager to up their game in the food and beverage department. Just wouldn't expect Halekulani to slip in these departments. Also, manager never came around or was seen checking in his or her patrons, not very 5 star there. Just being honest. The complimentary valet parking was exceptional. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.

That's a shame because it has the potential to be very good. When you start with a cocktail concept that is deliberately kept low key with no signage, and a drink menu that rotates and evolves, you have a pretty good floor to start. Having a cozy place to settle in and being able to enjoy food from Chris Kajioka should give 430 Pkwy a high ceiling. If you like an espresso martini try something a little different. Their Espressing My Love batches espresso with Averna, black walnut bitters, and a unique monkeypod syrup. Unfortunately, there is no espresso machine so you cannot get fresh drawn espresso to make a Carajillo the way Cafe Miro use to. The ahi brioche is a carry over from all Chris Kajioka places. The grilled cheese is excellent. Hotdogs are kicked up - it used to be a black truffled miso chicken sausage but the current one is a little different. The problem is the food preparation totally undermines the whole place. Without a separate kitchen you have frying being done just a few feet away from where cocktails are made. If you sit on the right side of the bar you will quickly understand why this doesn't work. I would come here more frequently if i didn't have to smell like cooking oil afterwards. Fix that problem and this place would rock.

Apparently you're normally supposed to put a coin in to open the secret door, but it's broken right now, so the whole vending machine just swings right open. Slightly less secret, but still very cool. Inside is where this place really shines. Moody lighting, a giant orange tree in the middle of the room, Japanese hip hop playing in the background (I want to steal this entire playlist), and extremely cool and friendly servers and bartenders. I've been to a few other attempted "speakeasies" in Honolulu, but most are basically just dark bars with a fun door or code word. Wild Orange actually has the VIBES to make the whole concept work. Definitely worth coming just to hang out and chill. They have a full bar and an extensive specialty cocktail menu. Tried the Purple Dragon, made with ube liqueur and coconut cream. Very sweet--a little TOO sweet for my taste--but tasty and pretty. Probably should have listened to the menu and kept it as a shot, but I wanted something I could sip on for a while and chill. The Umeshu Highball was also very pretty and tasty. My friend who works as a sake distributor was impressed with their selection of good sake, so of course we had to order a bottle. Our server brought it out in an ice bucket, kept it off to the side, and completely served it for us throughout. Very classy. The food menu is fun and creative, but unfortunately not really for me because it's entirely vegan. Most times, but ESPECIALLY when I'm drinking, I want MEAT. Tried the Wild Musubi, a vegan Spam musubi. I'm not actually sure what the "meat" was. Possibly fried tofu? Whatever it was, it was definitely a passable alternative, but would have been 100x better if it were just plain old Spam. It also falls victim to what I find is a common problem with vegan attempts at Japanese food: anything teriyaki ends up being way too treacly sweet without actual meat or seafood to ground it in reality. Also tried the Char Siu Tofu Bao, fried tofu in a red Chinese-style char siu sauce on fluffy white buns. Again, fun and certainly not bad, but these would be 1000x better with actual pork. If Wild Orange had this exact same creative food menu but carnivore edition, this place would probably be 7/5 stars for me. That being said, I know being vegan will actually be a huge draw for some people, and I appreciate that the food is creative rather than just the usual sad vegan afterthoughts. Parking is pretty easy by Honolulu standards. It's inside Hawaiian Brian's, so there's a large shared parking lot. That being said, you might still have trouble finding a spot during peak gym hours since you're competing with all the 24 Hour Fitness customers. All in all, I LOVE this place. Definitely a fun stop--first, middle, only, or nightcap--on a chill night out. Will absolutely be adding Wild Orange into the rotation of places to bring out-of-town guests when I want to impress them with something cool and different. The vegan menu probably means it'll be a couple-times-a-year place for me rather than a regular haunt. But for drinks, service, atmosphere, and pure VIBES? 20/10.

So, if you are expecting a full buffet, lounge chairs, sleep pods, full bar, and showers... you will be very disappointed because there is absolutely none of that. To my surprise, on a Sunday evening after having dinner nearby at Maze, my wife and I walked over to Bar Leather Apron and we were able to get seated right away! In fact, around 7:30 p.m. when we stopped by, there was actually a ton of seating available in the bar. Who would've guessed. If you're in the same boat as me and are unable to find a reservation for your upcoming visit, I would encourage you to stop by and try a walk-in. The first page of the menu lists a wide variety of whiskey based cocktails. Most -- if not all, of the cocktails are pre-fixed with BLA (Bar Leather Apron), and represent a collaboration with the named distillery. If you're fan of whiskey, you'll definitely have a difficult time picking only one. I ultimately ordered their "Take Warning" -- 2021 BLA Knob Creek BLA Single Barrel, Cynar, Carpano Antica, Mezcal, Bergamot Salt. Drinks here are not cheap -- averaging $20 to $25 per drink. Although my drink was very spirit forward, it still felt very well balanced. I appreciated the hint of smokiness from the mezcal that rounded out the end of a sip. Service here quick and friendly. When we received the check, a cute small chocolate snack was brought over as well, borrowed from the menu at Maze. Overall, I can see why Bar Leather Apron has earned so many accolades in its field. Definitely worth a stop by if you enjoy the art of mixology.
