My husband and my dad were just as impressed, and we all regretted ordering the small size because it was that good. One thing that really stood out was how thoughtful they were with the vegan option. They thoroughly cleaned the machine before making my coconut-based ice cream, which I really appreciated. It's a small detail that says a lot about how much they care. The person running the cart was very friendly and patient. If you're looking for a shop with 30+ flavors, this isn't it. A friend introduced us to Bend Cookie Company delights when she brought us a bag of their oatmeal…read morecookies "just because". She's something of a cookie aficionado and thought they were great. We think she's right! We'd indulge in Bend Cookie Company (BCC) delights once in a while and buy them at Newport Avenue Market (our favorite independent neighborhood grocer). Then serendipity! Mom and daughter owners now have the booth right next to Bonta Natural Artisan Gelato at the NW Crossing Farmers Market (Sat 10 - 2). It makes it very easy to pick up a bag to go, as we did last Saturday with Snickerdoodles to tuck into a picnic basket to introduce friends to Bend Cookie Company treats this week. (I report, with mixed emotions, that while I have been making great Snickerdoodles since I was eleven years old, the Bend Cookie Company's version is greater!) BCC's original claim to fame comes from their shaped, beautifully iced and decorated sugar cookies, suitable for about any custom occasion like for wedding favors, or for baby showers, or to celebrate birthdays or graduations. Or as a business gifts. Come to think of it, that's a great idea! We just had delivered some pretty spendy patio furniture and the place we bought it from included four plastic glasses with their logo on them. Ha! Think how much more impressive it would have been to get a nice box of "thank you" Bend Cookie Company cookies to enjoy with iced tea while sitting in the new furniture! ;-) BCC also makes the drop cookies we prefer like the aforementioned Snickerdoodle. Or cranberry cinammon. Or toasted pecan and toffee. To name just a few. Sometimes a wonderful, home baked, buttery and just sweet enough cookie is just the ticket. And with Bend Cookie Company's help, you don't even have to get out a bowl or turn on your oven. How sweet is THAT?
