We arrived at 8:28pm, not realizing they lock their doors at 8:30pm (although that explained the long line at the drive-thru). As we approached the front doors, one employee of the six we saw inside, a young man, probably 16 yoa, with short ash blonde hair, about 5'6", walked hurriedly to the door and locked it as we approached it. He was looking down, not making eye contact, kind of smirking. I knocked on the door to say it wasn't nice and also hadn't reached 8:30, but he locked the interior set of doors, still not making eye contact, but now just laughing. We drove into the lane to order. I said what he had done wasn't good service, the window worker, who dressed differently and looked like the manager, perhaps, wasn't aware of what had happened and just focused on taking our order (one medium blizzard). I asked for the owner's name, but was told they don't give it out. Had the male teen given customer service, apologized that he was just locking up and been polite I would've explained we were just ordering a blizzard and wasn't going to dirty their tables or anything. But I know it was the smirk, laugh, and eye contact avoidance that lead me to taking the time to leave this review. SMH. Whatever you do, don't use their online ordering system. You'll get to wait 40 minutes for a relatively small order (2 burgers, 1 fry, 1 drink & 2 blizzards) while the drive-thru pumps out orders like normal, to get lukewarm fries because they forgot 1/3 of your hot food items so you have to wait even longer. read more

We have eaten at this Dairy Queen several times over the last two years. We have never been disappointed at the service or the food. We order burgers, fries, onion rings, and Blizzards. Because Blizzards tend to take some time to make, we are usually directed to a parking place and a staff member, usually a delightful young woman, brings the Blizzards to our car. One small improvement is some way of indicating which blizzard is in the cup. Twice I have eaten my daughter's blizzard thinking that it was the one that I ordered. My wife and I agree that this Diary Queen Grill & Chill makes the best fast food burgers. We will continue to frequent this DQ. read more

Terrible Dairy Queen. This place has the worst customer service and they always say "well we're not corporate" when I ask questions about it. I don't understand why this would be reason to have poor customer service and restrict menu items. I asked for a grilled cheese and they curtly said "we removed those a year ago." When I asked more questions you'll never guess what they said..."well we're not corporate and they just don't want to make them anymore." I have requested extra ingredients in blizzards and they restrict that too. I ordered 4 chicken strips and 1 was full size 2 were about 2/3 and 1 was half. You don't sell half a chicken strip as a full one, you throw in as a bonus to make someone smile. Sounds to me like they're putting profit over customers and without customers you have no profit. What kind of management scheme is this to making poor unknowing counter service people disappoint customers repeatedly. Ice cream is supposed to be fun. We've never had an issue here until tonight. I started my high school job at DQ in Bend and understand customer service and can see when it's lacking. Tonight the Redmond location appeared to be struggling. Two cars in front of us in drive-thru. We order two small vanilla cones and she says "we will have them for you at the window" we come around to the window and they "park" the truck in front of us so when we pull up the young lady asks my husband if he ordered and he said "yes we ordered two small vanilla cones" her response to us was " you need to go around to the ordering box" that was all she said and she closed the window. I called and spoke to the Manager AJ who confirmed our car make and color and said "we thought you cut the line" -- when we were up at the window there was not a car visible behind us. So not only did it appear the young lady didn't put our order into the computer she also didn't remember taking the order through the box less than 4 minutes prior, and at that time with no vehicles behind us. I'm struggling to know what the benefits would be of cutting the line in the first place. DQ put up some cameras and retrain your staff (especially the manager on duty) in regards to customer service. I don't blame the young lady working the drive thru window as she's only as good as the training she was provided. However having worked in this business 25 years ago this was definitely not a busy spurt. Do better! Had I understood at the time why she was telling us to go to the call box again I would have asked what was going on and why we were being asked to drive back around. Instead the window was shut in our faces and my husband said "let's go this is ridiculous". It's okay to provide good quality customer service 100% of the time. I think I've been way too hard on DQ in the past. I used to think it was only good for ice cream (and I really never even thought their ice cream was *that* special anyway) but the last couple years I've really been digging their cheeseburgers. I don't know what they do differently, if anything, but they're really not too bad. Actually even enjoyable. Today I was craving chicken strips and remembered they had a chicken strip basket so I decided to pick some up, since it was my closet option at the moment. Those were also better than I had remembered! Didn't really like the dip that it came with, but the chicken strips themselves were pretty good. I will just have to request something else to dip them in next time. As far as fast food goes, DQ isn't such a bad option. Don't know why I thought it was for so long but I am happy that I've given them another chance. I bet I will be back in for more cheese burgers or chicken strips when I get that craving again. The food came quickly. They brought everything to the table, which was a help since we have a toddler. I like the flame thrower burger. Everything seemed to be freshly prepared. People are friendly and helpful. For example, they offered a drink carrier when they saw we had a lot of drinks. This is our favorite place for ice cream. read more

Special is a 4 piece chicken strip basket for $4.99; asked to upgrade to 6 piece and was told it would be regular price. Strike one. Received our food and the four strips were so skimpy and small that it was more like 2 1/2 or MAYBE 3 strips. Strike two. Husband went to the counter to ask for another bbq sauce and was told it would be an additional .35 cents!. May not seem like a lot, but really?! Anyway, that was strike three. I went through drive up at Dairy Queen today. I had fantastic service. But I was just wanting a really good hamburger. Usually I order French fries note out of habit than anything eat 3-4 and throw them away. Well not from here! I have never eaten here before. I ate every last French fry they gave me and wish I had ordered a large. They were the best French fries I have ever had in 48 years. And the fry sauce was delicious! The hamburger didn't disappoint either. Tasted like a superb backyard bbq burger. The lettuce was crisp and tomato was fresh and flavorful. The meat you could taste and was grilled to perfection. The bun was fresh and soft but held up to the condiments. I never finish a meal. Even when I cook for myself at home. I ate every last bite of everything. I never do that! So, this new Dairy Queen is located off of Highway 97 is not fantastic. Sure, it looks nice, it's a bit more convenient to get to than the old location off of 6th st. But, the quality of the Ice Cream is horrible. I had to order 4 blizzards for my family. All of them were under served, melted, and it took 15 minutes for it to get to me. The line was long (as to be expected), but when I saw that they set my order on the side, helped three other cars (two of which they made pull forward to wait for their order not counting myself), is when they decided to run out my order. We like to take our son to get dipped cones, and recently we ordered blizzards for ourselves. Found 3 hairs clumped together on one, they looked like eyelashes, and they were together so it seemed to have been done on purpose? We called and told them, the girl on phone said she would have to ask the manager about a refund. We said we were on our way back, we had thrown the melting blizzards away at home but had taken pictures. Got back, asked for refund. The manager acted like she was doing us a favor "she could get in trouble for refunding the whole order." It was a kids dipped cone along with inedible blizzards, and we had to drive back into town and no ice cream for us so why they were less than polite, I do not know. About a month later, I order a blizzard again, assuming last time was a fluke. Nope. There's a freaking eyelash-looking hair right on the top! Call and complain again, ask for the owner, as the manager has been rude and should NOT be in charge of anything. Are told the owner will contact us. Its been almost a week, so eff this place. I think someone is putting hairs in blizzards because they think its funny, I don't see how this could be accidental. Lady running the drive thru window, Mallory W., refused to give me more fry sauce, saying that she can't. I understand if I have to pay extra for it, but you cannot tell me you can't give me more. She sounded very unprofessional, very rude and did not seem to care about the customer. I paid $20 for food, the least she could have done was give an extra fry sauce so I can have one with my burger and one with my fry. I've never had a bad experience at this DQ until now.
