new zealand style ice cream truck. pick your fruit of choice and they'll blend it for you.. (raspberry, blueberry, strawberry or marionberry) nice, thick and creamy large size is $8.50 (+$1 for waffle cone) or small cup for $7.50.. the large was the perfect amount to share between adult and child... ok may be it'll be better for 1.. who am i kidding?

Ice cream was amazing! Flavors were super fresh. We went on a busy Saturday night and waited about 5 minutes for our orders!

I highly recommend pairing the honey lavender gelato with a shot of espresso--it's a flavor combination that's both bold and beautifully balanced. The shop itself is a candy lover's dream, packed with unique and nostalgic treats from around the world. Every corner offers a fun surprise. You can truly feel the joy and passion behind it--the owner created this place simply because he thought it would be fun, and it absolutely is! Top-notch service, an endless selection of global sweets, and the most delicious affogato I've tasted in years. This place is a must-visit!

Then I wandered past epic niche character candies like Krabby Patties, Red Fox Animal Poo Cotton Candy, and gummy sushi setups. The back of the store amplified the original Willie Wonka movie on a big video board. The shop is stocked and tight, good that means more candy. There is ice cream and a chocolate/confections case. The girl working on the busty rainy Saturday was communicative and kind despite doing 4 things at once. This is a classic candy shop. Do you want to eat crickets? You can! But I'll settle for my colas. A Jones soda bottle cap was on the bench outside where I sat to write this review, the inside read, "you are worthy of good things." Cravin's made me believe that a little more. Thanks!

Hot summer evening, I walked into Ben & Jerry's with one mission: find something cold and…read moreunforgettable. Ended up with two scoops in a cup--Ultraviolet (yep, that crazy purple one) and Salted Caramel. Price was $8.50, which is definitely on the higher side (especially when I know the same size goes for $7.50 in LA or even Yellowstone). Still, I can't complain--the flavors hit hard. Ultraviolet tasted like summer in a spoon--sweet, floral, slightly exotic. The salted caramel balanced it out with that creamy richness and just enough salty kick to keep it from being overly sweet. Together? Perfection. Service matters too. The girl at the counter was super sweet, quick, and clearly knew her stuff. That's the kind of energy you remember. There was also a guy behind the counter who looked like he could've helped earlier, but instead wandered a bit before starting a milkshake. Maybe that wasn't his role--but it stood out. The place itself? Classic Ben & Jerry's vibe--bright, fun, colorful. Outside seating with turquoise chairs gave me that relaxed, summer-night-in-town feel. Perfect spot to slow down and people-watch. So yeah, it's pricier than some spots, but when the ice cream is that good and the service leaves you smiling, it's 5 stars. I'd come back just for that Ultraviolet scoop.

Between the exceptionally good food at Hook and Plow, a most pleasant hotel experience, and a memorable trip to the High Desert Museum; our trip to Bend turned out to be a pleasure instead of the miserableness I expected. We had the Steak Tartare, the Chef's Board, the Blackend Crabcake, the Pear and Burrata Salad, and the Bone-in Pork Chop. We each got the cheesecake for desert and split the other dishes. This was more than enough for the three of us and we left full, happy, and with three large to-go boxes. The flavors of the various dishes were amazing. While all the dishes were vvery good, the standouts to me were the steak Tartare, the Pear and Burrata Salad, and the Cheesecake.

We were greeted by the host and seated quickly. We started our meal with a delicious non-alcoholic drink and the Chef's Board: a charcuterie with an assortment of cured meats, rustic bread, and various spreads. That came out pretty quickly. Unfortunately, our main courses came out much, much later and lukewarm. Luckily, the food was good enough that it made up for the temperature. I had the NY strip steak. The steak and the Boursin mashed potatoes alone were very good. The pickled onions and chimichurri complemented the meat very well. The meal was supposed to include brussel sprouts but came with a grilled broccoli cauliflower assortment instead. My wife had the Scallop Risotto which was also a great recommendation from the server. In reality, The Hook & Plow deserved 3 1/2 stars but that's not an option on Yelp. It may have been an off night for the staff, so I will give them the benefit of doubt. We would be open to trying it again sometime in the future.
