I had a lovely grab and go visit here yesterday morning to grab coffee for a walk and talk meeting. Tucked into the heart of the Wholesale District, Cups Coffee Shop appears to thrive on downtown employees and especially those who pour into the "bigger" buildings of downtown. They have a handful of inside tables, assortment of baked foods like muffins and four to five coffee selections on hand as well prepared drinks like lattes and cappuccinos. I wasn't able to see who provides their coffee beans or if it was local. While there, I learned that they have a second location a few blocks away near the Repertory Theatre. The young lady working the counter was friendly. My only suggestion would be spicing up the interior space and the counter display and offering a few more local treats/ingredients. Overall, a great spot to grab a no frills cup of joe. read more

This place is always open bright and early and provides good service. They have every type of coffee you'd want but they also have the ability to make it murderously strong if that's the kind of thing you are into (which I totally am). You'll be paying downtown prices for it but this coffee shop is well worth it. I usually do a cappuccino with a red eye poured in and it still tastes really good. read more

Cups is in the main level of the building I work in. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about the coffee options. I love the rotating menu and always keep an eye out for the Highlander Grogg. We don't stick around for long but it's an aesthetically pleasing little cafe in the lobby of our building. Cups Coffe Shop is awesome! I visited recently to grab a quick cup of coffee with a friend and ended up staying and sitting for a while. Their coffee is delicious, and pretty moderately priced compared to some other coffee shops in the area. It's also about a 15 minutes drive from campus, so not far at all! I had an iced oat milk latte and I would highly recommend it. They have a huge variety of coffee flavors from Blueberry Crumble to Hazelnut. Cups has a daily flavor and a weekly flavor and they are always different which is great if you're interested in trying new coffees but aren't sure what to get. The barista that served me and my friend was very polite and joyful! She had great recommendations for what flavors we should try when they are in rotation. It's a very warm and welcoming environment. With the tables inside, it would be a great spot to set up and do homework. I will definitely be doing that soon! I like that I have somewhere to go besides on campus. I really like that it's locally owned. There are 3 locations in the downtown Indy area, all owned by the same couple. Cups has a plethora of baked goods every day and every item is so tasty. This particular location offers more of a coffee shop feel, from what I've seen, the other 2 locations are more of a grab and go situation, but you can also get that here. Masks are enforced here, and it seems like they take every precaution to make sure your experience is as safe as possible. I really appreciated that! read more

Cups might be the most underrated coffee shop downtown. I'm a huge fan of their almond milk chai latte, topped with cinnamon. Their house brews are great, as well. Staff is always friendly and service is fast. You won't find any fancy cold brews or kombucha here, but they do have an old-school customer loyalty program using index cards. read more

I didn't know what to expect walking into this unassuming shop, but I was pleasantly surprised. The iced coffee was really good (just the house coffee poured over ice). The apple strudel was average, but the service was fast and friendly. read more

What a quaint little coffee shop in the heart of downtown! I've been wanting to drop in and finally got an extra push when I found out my dear friend Katy is a barista here! Cups has a daily flavor of the week and Friday's was my all time favorite: cinnamon blueberry crumble!! It's just like a blueberry muffin in your cup! The prices are very very reasonable. It was just over $2 for my large. That beats paying the $5 for a venti at Starbucks... Also note that they are only open on week days so plan your visit accordingly. I'm excited to stop in on another day of the week to try another fancy flavor and a breakfast pastry! Those muffins looked delish! read more

Yikes. As a new resident of downtown, I've been loving the different coffee shop options. I was hoping this would be good (love supporting local businesses), but it was one of the worst iced lattes I've ever had. I don't know if the espresso was particularly weak that day, or the vanilla syrup too sweet, but it was watered down and cloyingly sweet. I should have tasted it before I left, because a few blocks away, I ended up throwing it in the garbage and getting Starbucks instead. May try it one more time, because this was likely an odd day. Sweet little spot that I can across walking downtown Indianapolis right off of the Monument Circle. The staff was so friendly and smiling for being an early morning - changed my mood! I ordered a crunchy, nutty, maple-something fresh coffee! Whatever the name, it was full of flavor. I knocked one star because they don't have many food options: mainly granola bars, bananas, and pastries. The store was also a little cluttered. A small little coffee shop in the South Tower of the 5/3 Bank Building. Stopped here for a quick coffee while meeting up with the hubs. The barista was very polite and it seemed she knew the regulars as she was making polite conversation with the person in front of us. The shop had some chairs and a small selection of pastries to accompany your coffee beverage. It wasn't anything special but it was nice to grab coffee downtown at a local shop instead of going to a Starbucks. So now I know it exists, I will come here. To sum up, a good spot for a quick cup of jo if you're downtown worker. I should also add that they are only opened Monday-Friday so this isn't a place you can stop on the weekends since it's in an office building! read more

I prefer this spot over Starbucks any day. Locally owned, with several downtown locations. The staff is always friendly, and you can tell that the owner (can't remember this name) loves his business and keeping his guests happy. The downside is that they don't have many breakfast options aside from pastries, and often times they run out of them early in the morning. read more

When I started with my new job a few months ago, I was told to familiarize myself with Cups. If you are off of Ohio and Pennsylvania, you should do the same. Don't come here looking for triple venti mocha latte frappucinno something or other - that's what Starbucks is for, walk down to the Circle. If you want a great cup of brewed coffee (including not horrible tasting flavored varieties) or basic bevvies like a mocha latte, this is your place. Customer service is always great, and they also have a 3x5 index card loyalty program for the regulars. Cups also offers food, however I am unable to speak to it. Snack offerings are abundant, and pricey ($2 for a KIND bar, for example) but convenience does come at a price. Make sure to have a few singles - cash tips only for great service :) read more

Nice place located on Pennsylvania St. just north of Market. I hit this Cups location (there are several others in town) several times a week and have never gone wrong. Usually I have the dark roast with a shot of espresso and it always gives me a nice boost in the morning. Pretty good for lunch as well -- they have some tasty sandwich selections (chicken/egg/tuna salad) to go with your mid-afternoon coffee. Great and less expensive alternative to Starbucks.... highly recommended. read more

Espresso was okay but not memorable. I need my espresso to have a strong, distinctive personality (in any interesting flavor direction) ... and this one simply didn't have it. Not bad, just not remarkable. If you like a more midrange, coffee-like espresso then you might really love this stuff. Served by a friendly barista who was more than willing to make me a true Italian double macchiato for just 2 bucks and change. Nice deal. Still, I'd probably instead try a regular coffee next time I'm nearby and searching for caffeine. read more

Service and environment were great. Quality of the coffee is mediocre. The supplier is Ronocco and its subsidiaries. The result is something on par with a Starbucks, but can't hold a candle to some of the local Indiana roasters. read more

Love this place. Good quality coffee, friendly people, mom & pop feel. Love the frequent customer program which consists of color coded 3x5 cards in a recipe box. If you want good coffee at a reasonable price, this is it. I get a short (which is the same as a tall elsewhere) for $1.85 all in. Can't beat it. read more
