I came here for the first time after realizing this was on the way between home and my gym, which is good to know if I want a quick treat *every now and then* (since the gains come first). I like the nice open space for seating, which had some half booth seats along the wall, some regular tables, some benches or single chairs, and some slightly partitioned areas with tables. I think with this, just about all the desired seating options are covered. Ordering at the counter is done for service whether it is sit-down or to-go. I had to take mine to-go at my visit. I got my partner an iced mocha and blueberry muffin, and he said he really liked both. I got a graham slam latte, which had all the s'mores flavors topped with cold foam, graham cracker crumbs, and chocolate drizzle. Yum! It was a very rich drink but very worthwhile. I also got a Dubai chocolate cake, which is very decadent. I'm sure I'll be back again! read more

Stopped by early morning. Sadly, bathrooms weren't open cuz they share with the restaurant next door and they weren't open yet. Tried the Yemeni chai and the cardamom latte. Not bad. But the chai was better. It can't be made dairy free I think? We were the only ones there so we didn't wait long for drinks. But we got a few empanadas, which they warmed up for us. The beef and the potato one. Decent. Really great place to check out in Indy. read more

I am so happy to have finally visited this coffee shop. It is located in a strip mall off 38th street. There is no outside seating however there's plenty of seating inside. It is a large and open space with different sitting areas. The person at the counter was nice and was a great helping in deciding what drink I wanted and I ended up getting the iced mango matcha. It was delicious, just so creamy and the mango was a good combo with the matcha. read more

You must be patient when you come here. There is only 1 person working and each order takes time. You order, she makes. I always feel bad for them being alone. I'm happy to have nice coffee shops on the west side since it seems everyone opens one out north. read more

I'm Always looking for cozy coffee shops in the city to get some work done. This one was perfect for that. They had work cubbies that really helped isolate me from the crowd, I appreciated that. The barista wasn't the friendliest but I'm going to give her some grace because she was the only person working & it was pretty busy. Their steamer was down but I was okay with that because I was getting an iced drink anyway. I had the Strawberry Cupcake latte w/ oatmilk & it was sooo delicious! Do I love strawberry coffees?? I'm starting to think so lol. I also had the blueberry crumble muffin, I asked her to warm it but that made it harden. So I would pass on that when I go back. I also didnt care for the restroom, it was a little smelly & needs some TLC. The coffee & workspace made up for everything else that was lacking. I'm going to try the Fishers location as well. read more

I've been having meetings at a lot of coffee shops lately and this spot had THE BEST COFFEE so far!! I walked in and was greeted with a smile and welcome. She was very patient with me seeing that this was my first time there. I ordered a caramel latte and it was amazing!!! Not sure what she did but it was perfect! I had a meeting there and it wasn't very crowded. Although it's in a mall strip it was still quiet and cool. The pasties looked very good and parking was plentiful. I will definitely be back and you should definitely try it out for a good cup of Joe! Highly recommended. read more

We had heard so much about the iced chai from MOTW and were excited to finally give it a try. The drink itself was good and definitely worth experiencing at least once--it didn't disappoint in that regard. That said, the service could use some improvement. When we walked in, the staff didn't greet us, and it felt a bit uncomfortable until we initiated the order. A little more warmth and attentiveness would go a long way in making the experience more welcoming. I'm glad I had the chance to try the chai, but overall, it wasn't quite memorable enough to make me want to return. read more

The best space for coffee in the southwest part of Indianapolis. Their Biscoff lattes are THE BEST!!!!! I drive from all over Indy to find the nearest MOTW location because they are so consistent with top notch lattes. They are a little bit more pricey than most other coffee shops, but they are absolutely fantastic!!! read more

Love this place. Grateful for this addition to the west side. Coffee shops are much needed in this area. This place is another consistent banger. The empanadas are great my favorite is the spinach and chicken pot pie. I love the strawberry matcha as well as the Biscoff latte. In terms of service it is quick as there is only drinks and a few ready made snacks. There is plenty of seating with tables and booths. Will be back! read more

This was my first time at this coffee shop. The barista taking our order was super friendly! We started with the baklava pistachio which was tasty, but very small. I got the Biscoff pumpkin pie seasonal latte. I got a small with decaf espresso and it was so delicious! The cold foam made the drink creamy and paired perfectly with the drink. I will say it was a bit on the pricy side in my opinion. They charged extra for the decaf espresso and the small was over $8. My husband got the monster matcha which is another one of their seasonal drinks. He really liked it. It was an iced matcha with white chocolate topped with a blue raspberry cold foam. Had the strawberry Matcha latte, and also tried the chicken pot pie and ground beef samosa, - finally some halal snacks with coffee and which I enjoyed, service was fast too! However, this place needs to work on its ambiance though, the walls are white but has a lot of shoe prints on the walls near the tables and benches and the ceiling full of pipes just look a bit ugly, loved that they have a small corner to pray but just probably needs to repaint and decorate the place a bit more. read more

Delicious and cozy! The tables are spaced far enough apart to afford privacy for conversations, and there is a prayer and meditation room available as well. The halal beef empanada was truly delicious, and they also offer bacon, egg, and cheese; chicken; spinach; and samosa. Their iced chai with honey is so refreshing, and pairs nicely with their selection of milk cakes. I tried the wonderful pistachio, but there is also Biscoff and caramel. read more

MOTW Coffee & Pastries is such a great find. Their coffee is genuinely delicious, I got the Oh Honey Honey iced coffee, and it was amazing. Smooth, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Easily one of the better specialty coffees I've had in a while. The staff member working was friendly and handling a ton of orders at once, but she moved quickly and did a great job keeping everything flowing. Her positive attitude made the experience even better. The atmosphere here is super cute with a warm, cozy vibe. It feels like the kind of spot where you could relax, study, hang out with a friend, or just enjoy a good drink and pastry. Everything is clean, inviting, and thoughtfully decorated. Prices are fair, the quality is high, and the overall experience was fantastic. Definitely a place I'd come back to, and a spot I'd recommend to anyone looking for great coffee and a chill environment! read more

On my way to work, I stopped inside MOTW to grab a latte. Parking is free and plentiful. When you walk in, you will feel right at home! Everyone is so friendly. I grabbed a bonfire latte which tasted amazing! I'd definitely get it again. They also offer a variety of pastries. MOTW has plenty of seating, nice lighting and even a prayer space. I just needed coffee on a Friday afternoon and I saw MOTW near me. I forgot I visited this branch a year ago but one step in and my memories came back. This place isn't just a coffee shop, it is a haven for book readers, college goers, friends, professionals and just about anybody from all walks of life! I ordered Americano and a pastry. The pastry was bundled with coffee cake in one tray and I mistook the name for one with another. The barista realized this after billing and she gave me the date pastry I wanted for free. I appreciated that thought and gesture. The coffee was mind blowing as always. Tinker coffee has never disappointed me. This place is a keeper. I frequent MOTW around once a week. I actually visited twice this weekend! The staff and the drinks are the reason I keep coming back. The baristas always are kind and engaging. Usually it's pretty busy and too loud for me to work but the past couple times I have come in, the vibes have been perfect! I really enjoy the inclusive environment and I am so glad that there is a great coffee place off 38th street on the west side. I will say their coffee is a little steep if you add a milk alternative. I have been lucky enough to have some baristas hook it up for me I recommend the cafe miel, spanish latte, and the vanilla latte! The miel is my overall favorite. read more

I love MOTW coffee. I no longer go to big chain coffee shops, and I've switched completely to awesome places like this. This location is not as big as Carmel, but it is the closest for me and actually this is a cozy space for me for not being too spacious. Many coffee shops closed in the afternoon like 2 or 3pm- but MOTW is open later. And I want them to know I really appreciate that about them. I like their latte because they have many flavors to choose from. It's always hard to pick one. The service ranges from very friendly to not friendly at all. It really depends on the person on duty that day. But regardless, they are more than just a coffee shop and I support their mission and like the community. Highly recommended! read more

I pass this place during my morning commute and have been wanting to try for a while. I'm so glad I finally decided to stop. I've visited 3 times within the last 30 days and each time I am happily greeted by a staff member. The restaurant is very spacious and a great environment to meet up with friends or family. They have a variety of tea and coffee drinks to choose from. I'm not much of a coffee drinker so I prefer their teas. I'm not too familiar with their menu so I've asked for suggestions each time I've visited and they have not steered me wrong. They have a great Yemeni chai. They also have a variety of pastries that I have not gotten the chance to try yet. I look forward to making this a routine stop on my way to work. read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed yet! I've visited a few times over the years (location is nowhere near my normal route). This is the original location, as they just expanded to 2 more shops on the NE side of Indy. Plenty of seating and diverse options. There are 6 tables seating 4 in the center, comfy benches at the back, traditional 2-seater chair + bench options along the wall, 2 private-ish rooms. Plus a room for prayer and meditation. They sell a local bean, Tinker Coffee, which I love. Plenty of latte options, and my fave is the Lavender Latte although I've liked the others that I've tried. Their bakery casa is highly unique compared to other coffee shops, featuring Arab/North African delights. Some you've heard of like baklava but a few (if you are not from this culture) you probably have not. Prices are okay - honestly the bakery items are a bit rich for my blood so I only occasionally indulge. There's always music playing but never incredibly loud, but loud enough that if you are talking to someone you don't feel awkward making noise in a quiet room. Location is a strip mall in the International Marketplace so it's by many many excellent diverse restaurants. read more

I am constantly impressed with MOTW. I have been to both locations multiple times and there are a few things that have blown me away with both: 1. The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly. They truly want to get to know you and help you feel welcome. No wonder there is such an amazing community feel around this coffee shop. There are so many ways MOTW has given back to the community such as COVID vaccine drives and fundraising for those in need, hosting events and just genuinely doing good in the community. 2. The decor is stunning. I stared at the artwork while sipping on my coffee and felt inspired. I especially love the Muhammad Ali painting on 38th street. There is also a prayer space which is beautiful. 3. The pastry selection is fantastic. They have Arabic and French sweets that go perfectly with a cup of coffee. I tried the biscoff latte which was decent but preferred the Yemeni chai. I know they added a few more food items to their menu recently! Lastly, I've been able to work so well in this space. It feels so open and welcoming and there is always a mix of people working or studying along with those catching up over a nice latte. If you visit here, head to Saraga International Marketplace and grab a delicious meal. In the past my one complaint would've been that the a/c is turned up pretty high and I get cold often but I haven't had an issue after visiting again recently. I love it here! I highly recommend a visit to anyone who hasn't been. You'll feel right at home. read more

The cutest little coffee shop! The minute you walk in you can't help but take in all the fun decor! Major plus is that they have plenty of parking out front and that they have these individual rooms where you can study! (Will definitely be back to get some work done!!) I ordered the Biscoff Latte (per the barista's recommendation) pictured and it was delish!! It had just the right amount of Biscoff flavor without being too overpowering. Before leaving to go back to California, I just had to have another Yemeni chai. MOTW delivered! This time I tried it hot and it was still delicious. MOTW has definitely become one of my favorite cafes because of the Yemeni chai. But I also appreciate how it has a part of the cafe for meditation. I was able to enjoy some time to relax in the space and the vibe was good. I have never had honeycomb before and usually my boyfriend doesn't like pastries so I wondered what was so special about this. I soon found out with just the first bite. Let me tell you.. the honeycomb is a MUST TRY! The bread is flaky, moist and soft. There is cream cheese in the middle and the honey drizzle/sesame on top just brings it altogether. I used the bathroom here and it shared it with the restaurant next door. It was dirty and the trash cans were overflowing, but I don't think it was at the fault of MOTW. The bathroom does not reflect the cleanliness of the rest of the cafe, I'm just warning you. read more

What a fun and lovely experience. I was in the 38th Street/International Marketplace area for a doctor's appointment and pulled up Yelp to see if there was anywhere new for me to grab a coffee and voila, MOTW Coffee & Pastries popped up only having been open for 6 weeks. MOTW stands for Muslims of the World and this business is a sister business to also popular on Yelp, Al Rayan, next door. The hip and bright vibes inside MOTW remind me of Chapati (also in the area) and it was so fun to see the artistic nooks perfect for coworking and soaking in a cup of Tinker Coffee. I was short on time but enjoyed my brief encounter with the women at the counter and grabbed a Tinker drip coffee and what I believe was a Kataifi - although this one seemed drier/less soaked? It was served with a syrup to pour over and boxed beautifully for the road. A tremendous addition to the area and can't wait for more folks to discover MOTW on Yelp. read more

I stopped in last week, as I work from home and needed a change of scenery. I came into MOTW Coffee & Pastries & was initially impressed! The lady working the counter was super kind. She welcomed me and helped me navigate the menu. I ordered a decaf vanilla latte and it was very good! The ambiance is very modern and there is lots of space. I first chose to sit in a semi-private nook, but moved closer to the window. There was a speaker with somewhat loud music, that I politely asked if it could be lowered, but wasn't. So, I moved closer to the window to take my meeting. There must've been a gap in the wall. I had to put my jacket back on because it was freezing! I also asked for a bathroom during my time there, and the coffee shop itself doesn't have a bathroom. It is shared with the next door restaurant and it was not clean at all. This is a good place if you're looking to stop in for a quick cup of coffee, pastry, or a meetup with friends. Wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a place to work. read more

Cute little coffee/tea shop. I tried the Yemeni Chai which is a *fantastic* authentic chai option (definitely not your Starbucks Chai Tea Latte). It reminded me quite a bit of Qahwah House/Haraz Cafe in Dearborn, Michigan. Cute decorations and very kind upbeat staff. I hope they consider expanding their menu to include more Yemini coffee, tea, and pastry options in the future! Would love to have a full mini-Qahwah house in Indy. :) read more

I came here with a group a few nights before Christmas. There was one you g lady working and Im not sure if she expected to be that busy on a Friday evening. For the number of people it was she moved quickly and was friendly with everyone. I had the elderberry tea and lemon muffin. They were both good. We don't have too many local coffee shops in my neighborhood so I was excited when this one opened up. I haven't been disappointed with the coffee and pastry selections. I've already left a review of this AMAZING cafe about 3 or 4 months ago.... But I'm back with another review lol. OUTSTANDING service, Amazing playlist, coffee perfection- PERFECT work space. Today was my first time working inside of MOTW and it was wonderful for my job given that it isn't a phone job (the level of music and chatter could be a bit distracting to those that have maybe a remote call-center type job) for me, it was TOP TIER because I work independently and hate sitting in silence (libraries or the office) when I work from home - I can easily be distracted by tv or my pup.... Thank you, Yelp search engine, for introducing me to this beautiful new business! Locally owned and operated MOTW (Muslims of the World) has been nestled on 38th St for only 4 months! You would never know how new they are because their coffee and pastry game is STRONG!! The gentleman at the counter immediately greeted me, and he so generously took the time to explain their founding history. (I wouldn't do it justice if I tried to repeat it here.) Not only do they offer coffee, juices, and little treats, but they also offer their own merch. The pics I took today do not do this place justice! The interior is flawlessly tidy with a bright white and black pallet featuring notes of Middle Eastern inspired decor. The paintings are also beautiful works by Muslim artists. Seriously! This place is worth the drive from downtown Indy. We came here on a Sunday and it wasn't super busy but it picked up as the day went on. I got the lavender honey latte and it was really good. We were chatting with friends and playing board games so I also got a black coffee and that was good too. If you are not a fan of coffee then they also have some really great tea options to choose from. They carry my favorite brand called Rishi and it's fabulous. The staff was super friendly and had some good recommendations. There are a lot of seating options and even a prayer / meditation area inside. Cookie Monster is the #1 flavor for me and I can't wait to catch Pineapple Upsidedown in stock.

And I felt like I needed to replenish my vitamin K reserves, so I got the sesame kale salad, which is kale, thinly sliced radish, red onion, cilantro, jalapeño slices, a sunflower and sesame seed crumble, and a sesame-ginger vinaigrette. It was delicious! You can add an egg or chicken or salmon, but I don't think it needs any of those. If I had to do it all again, I'd ask for light dressing, because they were a little heavy-handed with the dressing on this salad. Isn't that always the way?! Restaurants need to cool it with the dressing, in my opinion. To be honest, the booze situation at Rize is a little anemic, but I don't think Rize is really the place to order anything alcoholic beyond a mimosa or bloody Mary. I got a screwdriver: freshly squeezed orange juice and vodka, and I'm still wondering where the vodka went. It did not visit my screwdriver, I tell you what. The seating inside Rize feels like it's at a premium, because depending on when you visit, there is very little of it. When I visited, almost every table was occupied, and the place was echoing with conversation. I chose to sit outside, which I'd recommend, if you can! It's so nice to sit and eat a good meal outdoors. How many times do we get to eat outdoors in Indiana? Just go outside, if you can.

It's one of the best breakfasts I've had in the last few years. Just spot on! A touch of tobasco perfectly accentuated the sausage gravy over homemade biscuits. A perfectly cooked sunny side up egg topped it off. My wife had Eggs Benedict with heirloom tomato slices swapped for the English muffin. It looked amazing. One tip... coffee is $5, but so is cold brew or a cappuccino. They may not be bottomless, but we both upgraded from the drip coffee for the same price.
