Joey waited on me, and what a kind, thoughtful representative he is. He listened carefully to what I was looking for and took the time to explain the best deals and the best value for my money. Because of his knowledge and patience, I ended up purchasing more than I expected -- and I felt good about it. That's the sign of someone who truly knows his products and genuinely cares about helping customers. I also want to thank Manager Kris, who stepped in to assist since I'm a medical patient. What an asset he is to Curaleaf. Professional, courteous, informative, and with the personality of someone who represents a successful business with pride. Today I was very disappointed and concerned. It's 1-25-2026. The harvest date on the flower is 12/27/2023. AI: Cannabis flower's shelf life is typically 6 months to 1 year for optimal freshness and potency when stored properly (cool, dark, airtight), but it can last longer, potentially up to 18 months or 2 years, with significant degradation in flavor and effects. After a year, expect a notable loss of THC, with around 16% lost in the first year and more thereafter, alongside fading aromas and tastes. Signs it's gone bad include mold, a harsh smell/taste, or a dry, crumbly texture, requiring careful inspection for safety. It was packaged in a plastic jar with a plastic lid. Nothing airtight about it. I think it should be a requirement for the budtender to tell you the harvest dates. I called the store to see about getting an exchange. They told me that it was safe to use the flower. And that I should make a note of asking the bartender the harvest date. The manager told me also once you leave the dispensary there is nothing they can do. I called the cura leaf main number and got there customer help center lol. She put me on hold and checked with the other employees before transferring me to the store. And told me they shouldn't be selling something that old. She wasn't even going to transfer me to the store she said I would have to go back down there to talk to the manager and it would be up to his discretion. I'll be sure to ask the bud tender next time what the harvest date is especially on sale items. Trying to make money anyway they can by selling flower that's not even sealed airtight in a plastic jar with a plastic lid. Smh I tried to upload photos but it's not letting me. I will return the Cannabis the next time I go to the store. I don't really feel comfortable using it. Let me rephrase that I will take back the flower cannabis and give it to the store. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, and they know the products very well and are able to answer any questions. we've been assisted by everyone at some point but today we were assisted by Sierra, (aka CC) CC took her time with us and showed us all the deals and discounts available. My 77 years young wife uses cannabis for pain management for her arthritis. She usually buys enough to last a month. I've been to Curaleaf before but not this particular location. The staff is friendly, the back is clean and they're organized from what I saw. It was a little bit loud there but, it's ok (I also need to learn to speak a little louder). We ordered some flower and some sugar wax and wow, that hit the spot. The bud tenders there were all nice and knowledgeable. It's a little far for me but close to my S.O.'s place so when I'm there, this will definitely be my new spot. I am a loyal customer here and spend a great amount of money each time I am here. I go into the store yesterday and got a Bogo Stizzy deal and got the flavors I have gotten before. I go home to open one of the carts and it tasted like peppers. Jalapeño peppers to be exact. I have gotten this flavor before, several of times, and it's never tasted like this. I go in today and they cannot do anything for me due to "flavor profile"? What? This strain never tastes like this. and then goes to tell me that some flavors have earthy taste to them... i know that? i've been smoking for six years now and actually enjoy the earthy taste in strains. She made me pay for a whole new cart, and only gave me a discount. after coming in yesterday to get a buy one, get one deal. I was completely screwed over in a sense. And then she goes to say if I've had problems with their stizzy carts before, which i have. Twice, and both times the carts were leaking. However, with defected ones they will exchange it for you but for some reason will not take the default product back from you. She questioned me as if I was simply just coming in to try to get a free one, which was not the case and I asked her a few times to even take the pepper flavored cart back. But she "could not". I use to like this dispensary but then they screwed me. I purchased their in house brand CBD drops & repeatedly asked if it was safe because I had to take a drug test that month. I was dealing with back pain & needed any relief I could get. The budtenders repeatedly reassured me that I wouldn't fail any drug test taking their CBD. I failed my drug test and lost my job. When I returned and complained. They offered no apology, assistance, and definitely no compensation for my loss. All they could say was "It's impossible. No way you failed." I did fail and I didn't smoke for over a month. I only took their CBD. When I did online research of the details of their CBD products, their drops did contain THC. Swells has set the bar very high due to the quality of the product, friendliness of customer service, hours of operation, and location access (on grand ave). Swells was the first dispensary I visited since obtaining my card for lower back permanent injury pain. At first, the simplistic process had me believing that this was the standard process for this business line. At Swells you get to see what you are buying; literally. There is no "display" medicine here, which you typically smell and hope it is what you want ( 7-10 times I've smelled an old sample and got something totally different). At Swells, the jar in the shelve is YOUR medicine. If it targets your needs based on feedback by the crew, you get to smell-see-and get feedback on exactly what you are purchasing (no touching for hygiene purposes duh) . The meds go into your med container as per measurements and it's done. There is no smell this and this chick goes around back and brings you a nug in a space suit (wth is that all about, it's not radioactive is it? Lol). Overall super old school method of buying medicine. If you can purchase any meds of any kind and know exactly what you are getting you either grow your own, or buy from Swells. Perfect process don't change that at all. Fresh meds every time. Price wise? I have never patronized this store. I live in N. Central Phoenix and have been trading at the Camelback and Midtown Curaleaf stores for several years. I have always banked the "frequent flyer" earned store credit, and typically use it at the end of the year, usually around $100. On my last visit to Midtown, I was informed that a bud-tender in the Youngtown store had given my $48 store credit to someone else. The manager of the Midtown store refused to honor the credit, and told me I would have to go out to Youngtown to "see if they will refund it". Very, very disappointing, when you can be screwed over by a store you've never even been in, because the company can't control their own record-keeping. I am sure this was probably an honest mistake by the bud-tender, but it should be easily and honestly addressed by a competent manager, NOT like the fellow at the Midtown store. I would sincerely appreciate a response from Curaleaf, but will not be holding my breath. read more
