Rachel is incredibly kind, friendly, and an absolute powerhouse when it comes to cleaning. She made my home look spotless -- every surface gleamed, everything smelled fresh, and her attention to detail in the main cleaning work was fantastic. It was such a relief walking into such a fresh, tidy space. That being said, there were a few small things that could be improved. For whatever reason, I felt like she was very rushed. The trash was left right outside the apartment without a new bag in the bin, and the dishwasher wasn't started -- small touches I've had with other cleaners in the past that make a nice difference. I had also paid for organization, originally planning to do the guest room and kitchen, but when she arrived I decided to just do the kitchen. The charge stayed the same, which I wish had reflected the smaller scope. Overall, Rachel's cleaning skills are truly excellent, and she's a joy to work with. Not because I had a use for the items. Some of the things had made multiple moves with me and were never unpacked! The backstory: I paid a moving service to pack and remove, then store my house so I could put it on the market to sell. The company did not do a good job at all. They were rough with delicate items and I ended up with broken glass, marble, and ceramic items along with stretched and torn artwork on canvases. Many things were broken beyond repair, and the storage looked like a junkyard when I opened it to retrieve some items I had asked not be packed. I couldn't even step inside the storage when I first opened it! Andre came to help and within a couple of hours everything was taken out of the storage and organized into different categories. He didn't ask many questions. I was happy to not be very involved in the initial removal of the items as it was almost traumatic to see the things I owned carelessly thrown on top of one another. It was such a relief to see everything packed back into the storage unit and taking up less than half the space that the movers had originally left completely full. If I would have known of Andre's service, I would've hired him to come in and help me before I hired the movers. That way all my important stuff would have been protected and cared for better. We hired Tailored Closets to design and install four closets in our small home in Clairemont, and…read morewere glad we did. We also met with two other local/national companies to back up our ultimate decision. One of those was easy to let go of - the person who visited our house had strange personal habits and felt comfortable sitting on our bed and brushing pencil eraser bits onto our pillows. The second one came really close, and it was a hard final decision. They offered a different approach than Tailored and there were strong points to both. In the end, the connection we made with the designer, Nick, and his willingness to dive into the challenge, won us over. With our input, he came up with really great custom concepts including an entryway closet that had a couple elements that they don't typically do. One was an area where mail could drop from the mail slot, and the other was slide out shoe trays. We still look at those and smile. The on-site installers were great. The lead installer Cassidy was our main point of contact and did a great job. We'd done some other renovation prior to the closets, and our expectations for communication were formed by those other contractors. He was respectful throughout the install, patient with our questions, and always let us know what to expect. Personally, I also appreciated the way he worked with the other installers, too. He looked like a good mentor for the others. Kudos to him and the rest of the team, Luis, Kevin and Ismael. I'll be surprised if Luis isn't in a leadership role there soon! The installation was so professionally done, with plumb walls and level shelves, that it revealed how unlevel our flooring is. When that left some gaps, the company recommended a solution to mask that without changing the original design. Cassidy came back out, assisted by Victor, and made those updates in just a few hours. Overall, this was a great experience, and we recommend the company.

The installation itself was completed on schedule, but I was left to clean everything up afterward. The crew did not clean, and after I pointed out a few issues, they did come back and address them. That said, there were quality concerns, such as using gray nails on a black garage component and not installing an edger. I also added an item that their installer did not complete. When I later requested a quote for two additional closets, I was upfront and transparent that I planned to get three quotes. I was then told I would have to pay $100 for a quote because I had used a competitor for other projects in my home. I found this unreasonable and unprofessional.
