Unfortunately, we unboxed our microwave on the 17th day after purchase. We thought we had 30 days. The microwave had a huge dent. I called the retail store and they refused to replace it. They said they could only give me a gift card for $40. Tom was able to use his contacts and the store then replaced the microwave. I also appreciated that Tom listened, gave suggestions and helped us with how I wanted the kitchen to function. Our family and friends still tell us how much they like the set up and style of our beautiful kitchen!

This concrete sealant or whatever you want to call it was apparently the first time this product was used by him which I would not suggest he do with anyone else. I believe he had a choice to use an industrial grade product (as I requested) since our request was to make the countertop "shine like Costco's floor" but this is what the product looked like after a few months. He guaranteed that he would redo the countertop to our satisfaction but he stopped working on this even though the final product came out looking like crap - and after the third attempt as well. Unfortunately Tom elected to no longer work with us after I pointed out some of his other shortfalls so just keep this in mind when getting bids. Tom often likes to use a guesstimate bidding versus providing a formal quote. Sure it cuts down on costs, but you might not get what you thought you were getting since nothing is in a formal quote many times. I could point out other things that just were not done very well like when our Sub-Zero fridge showed up and Tom's crew didn't read the specifications correctly so the crew could not install the fridge and Tom's crew had to fix the opening in the kitchen and then the Sub-Zero crew had to come back a week later. The instructions were clear and Sub-Zero has very detailed specs - but the crew didn't pay attention to them. Again, just things like that were a normal occurrence throughout the entire time we had Tom do our projects. His father's custom kitchen cabinets turned out ok - looked very nice, but some of the trim pieces were not lined up on other areas. Just little annoyances. Anyway, nice bunch of people, but not what you'd expect for the several tens of thousands of dollars we spent over a year.

I have a pretty good knowledge of DIY projects. I have installed tile and I have hired contractors to install tile before. The building is fairly old and I know the floors were not level. I am shocked that given the space they were tasked to work with, how they were able to achieve a final product with 1/16" grout lines and perfectly even tiles. I observed they used multiple very long levels and a tile leveling system (not just eye-balling it) and they take the time to make sure it is perfect. Communication was excellent from day one. They were responsive, transparent, and kept us informed throughout the entire process. Scheduling was handled efficiently, and the crew arrived on time every day, ready to work. The project was completed exactly as promised, with no surprises and no delays. I was not able to be there for the installation but you can 100% trust this company to do the job right, even if you can't be there. He sent me pictures of each step of the way so I could feel confident that they were doing what they were supposed to be doing (as I had not worked with them before). I saw each step each evening to see in person the quality of their work and it is exceptional. What impressed us most was their attention to detail and dedication to getting everything right. They treated our home with respect, maintained a clean work area, and took the extra steps necessary to ensure a perfect result. It is rare to find a company that combines technical expertise, outstanding customer service, and such a high level of professionalism. Mr. Lopez made some excellent recommendations relating to design (functional-using a decoupling membrane since it is a 2nd story condo as well as a esthetic recommendations). Many contractors are unable to blend design with esthetics, but Mr. Lopez excells at this. He was able to offer better options when my plan had items that could be done better. He even came back to the site on Saturday after the job was complete to help me put the stackable washer/ dryer back (not part of his job, but he went above and beyond simply to help me). The finished porcelain tile installation has completely transformed our space and far exceeded our expectations. We would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone looking for superior quality, expert installation, reliable communication, and an exceptional customer experience. It's not something I could have done by myself without taking a month off of work. They helped me go through an enormous amount of clothing, furniture, and old knickknacks, and sorted things into piles that were easy to keep track of. They also packed up some old china with great care and expertise. They even scheduled the local charity for a pickup! They were supportive, considerate, patient and fun throughout the entire time. At the end of it all, the formerly scary-cluttered house was perfectly organized. Old beds were broken down into mattresses and disassembled frames. I received a detailed construction plan and timeline, along with recommendations for highly skilled subcontractors. First Choice Tiling also assisted in procuring some materials at lower prices.
