I hadn't been to the new location but was so wowed by my experience. My children got me a gift certificate for my birthday and included was a Red Light Therapy in their garden. My esthetician was Anita who was extremely talented and knowledgable about skin and how I should cleanse and moisturize going forward. She also gives incredible massages and seemed to know exactly where my muscles needed attention. I could not have been more happy with my visit and my esthetician. I have been to this spa twice. I have never been more disappointed with an owner of a business than at this spa. The owner was rude. After a massage you should not have to have a conversation about a discount that their system couldn't figure out. They offer discount days and make you explain why you are trying to receive the discount. Both visits were so unorganized and I would definitely suggest another main line spa that is courteous and respectful to the people coming there. It took me many years to realize that I was a person who felt best if I got some regular waxing (lip and brows). For years, I lived in Boston and cultivated a great relationship with an esthetician up there. Then I moved to Philly and was like, "Crap. Now I have to work ALL OVER AGAIN to find a person who does great work *and* whom I want to see literally once a month for the rest of my life." It was a delight to find Chrissy and Cure de Repos! She does an amazing job with the waxing. She's always happy to chat, and it's wonderful to get great service (she's a self-described perfectionist, which is... exactly what you want from someone doing facial waxing) from someone you have a wonderful rapport with. There are lots of products to buy there if you want them, and I appreciate that no one has ever done a hard sell to me. However, when Chrissy noticed me eyeing the deodorant they sell, she gave me a great personal recommendation, and I did wind up trying it out. It turned out to be excellent. Haven't had a facial in a minute. I came in for Chrissy's cure facial and I was NOT disappointed. Chrissy immediately identified my skin type to a T without me ever describing it. She knows her stuff! She also practically my put me to sleep with a luxurious 90 min facial... all the bells and whistles. I noticed an immediate difference in my skin and so did everyone around me! Had a great experience here! Started with an amazing massage from Geri. I have a bad back and am picky with massages- usually people don't get deep enough for me. However, she she surpassed my expectations! I booked a 60 minute massage and wished I went with 90! I will definitely be back for more. Following my relaxing massage, I was taken into another room for dermaplaning with Chrissy, the owner. She was very knowledgeable and informative throughout the process. I loved seeing the dead skin and peach fuzz all go away. My skin was super smooth and glowing- my husband even noticed the difference! I have never been more happy to write a review of her new establishment in Chestnut Hill as she is truly the best aesthetician I have ever been to. She is truly passionate about the work that she does and I appreciate how she gently educates you but never pushes you to buy things you don't need or won't use. I really wanted to try microblading to get nicer eyebrows. So I booked an appointment without knowing much about the process, which is actually tiny cuts in your eyebrows. I was a bit surprised to hear that they only accept cash. I don't make a habit of carrying 600 dollars on me. After doing some research, I realized that I wouldn't be able to get my eyebrows wet for a certain period of time. So I had to reschedule my appointment because I had several hectic weeks ahead. The Saturday before my appointment on a Tuesday, I leave a message asking for more detailed information about the procedure. I get 3 lines in response, telling me " it's nothing. No down time. " When I looked at a competitor's website and read their waivers and after care info sheet, I really felt like this place really didn't give a damn about me and my experience. So I cancelled completely. Somebody called that Tuesday but left no message. I will stay away from this place, at least for microblading!!!! This is in response to the business response: I was told in September that the "credit card machine was down and we only accept cash". Why would I make this up???? Secondly, ladies, you should know ahead of time what's waiting for you and what paperwork (waivers etc... ) you will be signing BEFORE the appointment itself, not in the 100 dollars consultation prior to the procedure! Just my 2 cents.... Finally, there aren't a thousand ways to microblade. Do your research is my advice to you. Peace! read more

I was sooo happy to see Cure de Repos, open in Chestnut Hill, there are no establishments like this in the area, what a fresh breath of air. The store has such a warm and inviting vibe, you feel so comfortable and at home. Some of the products I was uncertain of but Chrissy assured me they were the right choices. I ordered the Environ sebuwash and Babor Ampoule Concentrates, which are wonderful elixirs for your skin. They were all sent directly to my house in jersey with a personal touch, stating I hope you enjoy.! About a week later my skin was radiant and clearer than its been in a very long time. This place is AWESOME!!! I stumbled upon Cure De Repos while running errands in Chestnut Hill. When I first walked in I was immediately greeted with a big warm welcome from the owner Chrissy and her assistant Kelsi. They made me feel right at home, like we have been friends forever. I told her I would love to book a facial but wasn't sure which service to choose from their menu. Chrissy told me don't worry, that she would take good care of me and customize the facial just for me. Later that week I went in for our appointment and she ended up giving me the swiss arma-lift facial along with a light peel and OMG my skin looked AMAZING!!! I was thrilled with my new glowy, youthful and firm face! I went back several weeks later for a massage and bars session with Geri, and was equally impressed with her services. I went for a facial with extractions with Geri. She was warm, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience relaxing and fun. This was my first time going for a facial and I was nervous that I would be shamed or pressured to buy certain products, and my experience could not have been farther from that! I had the most amazing facial at Cure the other week. I saw Geri who is tiny but mighty! She is not only an esthetician but a licensed massage therapist as well, so her hands are MAGIC. Cure is a small spa with a very warm and welcoming staff and look. From the moment you arrive you are treated like they WANT you to be there -which is so unusual these days, especially at spas. Geri immediately took me back and had me lie on a heated bed - she dimmed the lights and had me just close my eyes and relax. The room was the perfect temp and I was close to drifting off a few times! Her facial was AMAZING -she removed all of my blackheads and worked on relaxing me and rejuvenating my skin. Facials can sometimes be painful if the provider isn't skilled - with Geri I never felt a second of discomfort, even as she excised all of my blackheads, some that were deep under the skin. She didn't try and engage me in mundane conversation like so many clinicians do - instead she let me set the tone if I wanted to just lay and relax or chat a bit. Afterwards, she got me water and let me really relax until it was time to get dressed. My skin was GLOWING. The best compliment I can give her is that when I got home, my husband did a double take and said "jeez your skin looks really good!" I will absolutely be back! Thank you Geri!!!! read more

Had a lash lift & tint with Charlene at the end of November and waited several weeks before posting so I could speak to longevity of the service. First, Charlene is caring, kind, has great hands and is fun to talk to. And the lash lift was a total game changer for someone as lash-challenged as as I am. It's been nearly 5 weeks and my lashes are as lifted/defined as day one (they tell you to expect it to last 6-8 weeks). Just had another tint done to make best use of the lash lift! Geri did great work my first session with a Swedish massage. I went in for a second time with the recommendation for cupping on a Thursday. The day after my 30 minute cupping session, I woke up with severe neck pain and couldn't move my neck for close to 48 hours. It was very scary. I called Friday to speak to Geri about it and didn't hear back til Sunday evening. There was little assistance or possible solutions offered. I ended up canceling my third appt because of the lack of follow through and will unlikely be back. Very disappointed. read more

Chrissy is a gentle, experienced aesthetician who is conscientious about following beauty, healthcare, and dermatology trends. She will listen to and address your concerns which made me feel that the experience was unique to me and not a one-size-fits-all treatment. I always feel comfortable in her spa as she has created a serene environment in a small space - the treatment table is warmed, the lighting is soft, and the music is subtle. I most appreciate that there is no pressure to buy specific products and that I have received samples, when available, of products to try. The skin care regimen Chrissy helped me to design is simple and has drastically decreased my breakouts. Pricing is in line with other establishments.
