    Blood on sheets

When we arrived the towels in in our room were already used and covered in mud. We let management know and the brought new towels but left the old ones hanging in the bathroom. The floors and carpet were dirty, the refrigerator was leaking water, the sheets were covered in blood, and there were used shampoo bottle in the tub. The deadbolt doesn't lock.

    Leak from the roof/ceiling.

I've been wanting to see Cape Flattery and the Tatoosh Island Lighthouse for several years…read more  This summer, that's what my family and I finally did. We booked 3 cottages at Chito Beach Resort in Sekiu, Washington. My brother and his wife stayed in The Birdhouse (whose deck officially became our favorite hangout spot) We spent many memorable hours there, enjoying the ever changing views of the sea, wildlife, and spectacular sunsets. My sister stayed in The Wolf Den. I stayed in the cottage adjacent to hers, The Lighthouse.  I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the Lighthouse Cottage. The bed was soooo comfy. Water pressure was great. So much attention was paid to every charming little detail. Nothing was overlooked.  And that view!  On Saturday night the owners, Tamara and Matt had a little get together around the bonfire with all of the guests at Chito Beach. (There are a total of 6 cottages) They were wonderful and gracious hosts who served us beverages and DELICIOUS appetizers. They made us feel very welcome there.  After I got back home, I sorted through the MANY photos that I'd taken, and decided which ones to post on Facebook.  As gorgeous as some of them are, I think some of the pictures of the sunsets at Chito Beach are even more stunning than my photos of the Cape.  Especially on our last night there. Truly magical and almost otherworldly Our time there was an experience that our family will treasure forever.

So we went for a hike and to the nearest town. We returned late in the afternoon. They told us they were worried and had phoned us several times. We were there in the morning, we had some other plans, and already paid for the room. Why wouldn't we return if everything nearby was booked? There is no phone coverage. At least for us:( Their front desk is in the grocery store. So we followed the lady to the place where the rooms are. The room are tiny but cute. Like a little studio. They have tv and kitchen. Bring your shampoo and stuff because you won't find amenities. I don't know if these are cottages but they are rooms in something like a container. Although, there was a huge spider inside the bed and that the bathroom white luttke carpet was dirty, I think this was the best we could find in a very busy holiday :)

The place is creepy in the off-season. When my boyfriend and I arrived late on a January night, we realized we'd be the only ones staying in this secluded part of Sekiu. We felt pretty vulnerable, but obviously survived. 2. Room was freezing and took forever to warm up. I had called ahead and said we'd be staying there, but the owners didn't warm up a room for us. Instead we turned on the heating ourselves and spent the first four hours of the night there dressed in all the socks, sweater and jackets we had while cuddled on the bed. And the bedding is hardly anything on its own - very thin blanket and comforter. I eventually took a hot shower and then put all the warm stuff on again. By 2 a.m., we could finally take some of the clothing off because the room was finally warm enough. 3. THE CAT - the gaddamn cat. There's a stray cat that literally sat outside our door and meowed until we finally turned off all the lights and were completely quiet. So that was 3-4 hours of a cat meowing outside of our door. 4. Room itself is generally old/crappy as you can see in one of my photos. It definitely needs some renovation! So why did we stay here at all? A lot of places are closed in the offseason, but this one wasn't. It was also the closest open place to our hiking area near Ozette Lake. Everything else is about a half-hour more away. If I could do it again, I would have stayed in Neah Bay or Forks and just deal with the extra driving time.

When we called Butler's the sweetiest women in the world answered and without hesitation wanted to make us feel welcome and as comfortable as possible. As we're still 2 hours away, she offered to meet us upon arrival. While checking in we learned all the history and education about animals, hiking and sight seeing which was very helpful, don't miss the beautiful nature museum in the office . It was nearing 8pm which meant all restaurants we're closed, we're out of luck to find food, however, like an angel, she brought us warm fish to our door . It was so amazing, what a giving . Our room was bear themed which was nothing short of perfect, just steps from the door we noticed a few racoons eating some food our host had placed out, such an awesome experience, they're adorable. Highly recommend, you'll never find anything like it, not to mention it's the best deal in town for $65 a night (it was Thursday), the host is the sweetest lady ever, bring a smile and you'll leave feeling loved with great memories of this spectacular place

He had a lot of issues, and it was a rough trip. Afterwards my mom wrote the resort an email, and as an apology they gifted her a three nights' stay for free. My parents couldn't use it, so they passed it to my husband and I. I really wanted to love this resort. I really, really did. I also wrote the resort an email after my stay. As of today, June 3rd, they have not responded. I will paste it below. All the below being said - view was great. TLDR: if you have allergies to dust and/or mold, do NOT stay here. ---------- Hello, On May 29th - 31st my husband and I stayed at your resort in Room 17. I'm writing to be transparent my experience. My husband and I were excited to be at a resort for a couple days so we could have some quality time together with no responsibilities. We lead busy lives with our own business and had been looking forward to this for weeks. While there were many rules for your protected land to be respected, we did not feel that the space waiting for us was respected, or even cleaned, for our arrival. I've listed the issues we found below. 1. The jacuzzi jets left a disgusting orange film on the wall of the tub that I didn't notice until I was sitting inside of it. It looked like someone's self tanner had been inside of the jets and came out with the water. We had to fill the tub up and leave the jets on for a long time before this stopped happening. I took a photo after filing it up a second time, but the first time was much worse. 2. The window blind facing the water from the Jacuzzi tub was broken. So even after we cleaned out the tub and tried to use it, the blinds will not open, so we couldn't enjoy the view from it, which is the whole point of these apartments. 2. The fireplace did not work. I walked up to the office after trying to fix it for an hour. They told me that we should've been notified that all of the fireplaces have turned off because they are in transition mode. I had not been notified. The fireplace was one of the reasons I had chosen this room, so this was very disheartening to hear. 3. The heaters are FULL of dust. I am severely allergic to dust. As soon as I turned them on, I had a terrible allergy attack that lasted for hours even though I turned them off within 10 minutes. This kind of heater needs to be cleaned every season. Evenings were chilly with no fireplace and dirty heater. 4. The bedroom window had black mold on the bottom. I'm severely allergic to mold. We had to keep the bedroom window closed, and I struggled with a hives reaction the entire time we were there. 5. The lamp above the dining room table was full of dust. I could not sit at the dining room table without having an allergic reaction all over again, and I couldn't reach it to clean it. 6. Lastly, when I bought a fire permit at the front desk, they did not tell me we could also buy wood there. We drove all around in town to try to find houses that didn't just take cash (they were out), asked the gas station (they didn't sell it anymore?), and then finally went back to aske the desk, where they finally told me they sold wood. It did not include fire starter, a lighter, or matches. It was disheartening to stay here for quality time and to get away from my constant allergies, just to have severe allergies anyway, because the apartment was not cleaned for our arrival. My husband also suffered from a panic attack because within the time we had plans to not have responsibilities, he felt like he had to fix everything in the apartment before we could settle. I've attached photos of my claims. Let me know if you have any questions.
