The addition of a small basketball court, a swing, and the Margaret J to explore added to the enjoyment. We didn't want to leave our newly renovated cabin, it's expansive views of the Straight and fun fire-pit for evening s'mores and story-telling.

I want to affirm the other 1 star reviewer, Kimberely S., in expressing disappointment in the…read moreattitude of the ownership at this otherwise beautiful property. The geographical location is excellent. HOWEVER, travelers might want to know: 1. Apparently their strategy is to list their property on 3rd party booking platforms (AirBnb, Travelocity, VrBO) in order to fill their vacancies. However, they take no responsibility for how their property appears to customers on these platforms. The owner Rachel told me she had "zero control" over her own business, in spite of paying these platforms for their services. When I sent her screenshots of what I had experienced through Travelocity, she dismissively replied she "had done all she could to help me". 2. Travelers should also know that GPS leads you astray. I drove into the Beachcombers area by mistake and was met with some clearly annoyed, but ultimately kind neighbors who got me going the right way. There is some signage, but it still felt very unclear and confusing for me and I'm on the road quite a bit. (Especially when Google Maps is not telling you to turn). Evidently they do send out an email with instructions when you book, but when you aren't aware of this and book through Travelocity, the email got lost in my junk email filter. 3. There is no cell phone signal at the site, and no check in procedure other than to call/text Tim or Rachel. This is obviously difficult if you don't have any reception. 4. The hosts manage the property remotely, despite what they pretend. I know this from my own lack of in-person interaction with them, and while spending time at my site I was approached by a couple who had been driving all over the grounds trying to find help. They said they had repeatedly attempted and failed at getting in touch with whomever was running the property. They asked me if I knew how they could get in contact. (Sadly, I had to tell them the truth). 5. Expect to be 100% on your own for orienting yourself, aside from a passive-aggressive sign they inconspicuously post on the side door of an unofficial looking house. (See pic) 6. They list amenities (like showers) that that do not provide, and make no attempt to hide they never, in fact, intended to do so. 7. Because I booked with Travelocity, I inadvertently booked the ADA site. The listing had no mention of this, and which I had no way of knowing until I arrived. Based on my experience, I am convinced this is intentional on their part, so they can book it, but claim no accountability when you're forced to illegally park in the handicapped spot. 8. Site 5 (the ADA site) is the only site that has a port-a-potty, which you will smell for the entire duration of your stay. As other reviewers have said, the geography and physical location itself is stunning. Were it not for the hostile, and condescending vibe created by Tim and Rachel, I would whole-heartedly recommend staying here. There are ways to approach running a business in the hospitality industry. Empathy, common courtesy, clear and courteous communication. Unfortunately the current owners have instead elected to treat their customers as if giving them less than the bare minimum is something their customers should be grateful for getting. P.S. If you see a retaliatory response from the owners, go also read what happened to Kimberely S, and how they handled it. It should tell you all you need to know.

The beds were extremely comfortable, ours slept 5!! which is wild for the price. Two in the loft in twin beds and a twin bed and a queen bed below. The bathroom was immaculate! In fact, the entire cabin was immaculate. There was a Kurig coffeemaker, a mini fridge and a microwave. There were two other Cabins facing the water #1 & #2 I believe, one has a small kitchen in it and the other a kitchenette (I think). They are only slightly more expensive and worth more than what they are charging. There is also a rooftop deck facing the water that any guests can use, which was lovely, especially since we were not in an ocean view cabin. I can't believe how affordable these places were!!! The host was incredibly nice and hospitable, as well. I would absolutely stay here again. My only tiny constructive critique would be for them to add shampoo AND conditioner rather than the one tiny bottle of two in one. I'm sure we could have requested more, but we didn't notice till the morning super early before anyone was awake so we couldn't all take showers. Bring your own or request shampoo/conditioner if you have more than one person staying over.

So we went for a hike and to the nearest town. We returned late in the afternoon. They told us they were worried and had phoned us several times. We were there in the morning, we had some other plans, and already paid for the room. Why wouldn't we return if everything nearby was booked? There is no phone coverage. At least for us:( Their front desk is in the grocery store. So we followed the lady to the place where the rooms are. The room are tiny but cute. Like a little studio. They have tv and kitchen. Bring your shampoo and stuff because you won't find amenities. I don't know if these are cottages but they are rooms in something like a container. Although, there was a huge spider inside the bed and that the bathroom white luttke carpet was dirty, I think this was the best we could find in a very busy holiday :)

The place is creepy in the off-season. When my boyfriend and I arrived late on a January night, we realized we'd be the only ones staying in this secluded part of Sekiu. We felt pretty vulnerable, but obviously survived. 2. Room was freezing and took forever to warm up. I had called ahead and said we'd be staying there, but the owners didn't warm up a room for us. Instead we turned on the heating ourselves and spent the first four hours of the night there dressed in all the socks, sweater and jackets we had while cuddled on the bed. And the bedding is hardly anything on its own - very thin blanket and comforter. I eventually took a hot shower and then put all the warm stuff on again. By 2 a.m., we could finally take some of the clothing off because the room was finally warm enough. 3. THE CAT - the gaddamn cat. There's a stray cat that literally sat outside our door and meowed until we finally turned off all the lights and were completely quiet. So that was 3-4 hours of a cat meowing outside of our door. 4. Room itself is generally old/crappy as you can see in one of my photos. It definitely needs some renovation! So why did we stay here at all? A lot of places are closed in the offseason, but this one wasn't. It was also the closest open place to our hiking area near Ozette Lake. Everything else is about a half-hour more away. If I could do it again, I would have stayed in Neah Bay or Forks and just deal with the extra driving time.
