What can you even say about Curries? It's a great little restaurant with fantastic, humble employees who do their best and produce some incredible food. We came for the lunch buffet; we haven't found many good buffets in the Seattle area so we were very interested in finding a good Indian buffet spot. Happy to say that it lived up to our expectations and then some. Loved serrano chilis, onion, lettuce, cucumber etc being available with the mint chutney and raita, delicious tandoori chicken, pakora etc. I'm not taking off stars but if you are reading this review Curries in Everett, please consider the following points: 1) The naan is neither buttered nor is it garlicky. If this buffet had garlic naan, I would rate it a 6 out of 5. Please, please think about it! 2) The mint chutney wasn't very minty. I had my first experience with Indian food in Western Washington at Curries. It still stands up as the best even after I discovered a love for this cuisine. The staff were very friendly and happy to explain a few things I wasn't too familiar with. The goat biryani was so aromatic and delicious I think of it everytime I get near Everett! I come here often for the lunch buffet with co-workers, and I would say they have the most options for entrees in the lunch buffet than other buffets in the area, but the thing that would make this 5 star for me would be consistency with how hot the buffet food is and if the chicken could be more tender. Excellent lunch buffet! We enjoyed the standard butter chicken and naan, but also loved trying several unfamiliar curries which were equally delicious! Very friendly and helpful staff, and they didn't charge us for the kids (ages 7 and 2) at all, so it turned out to be a more affordable meal for our young family of 4 than I was expecting. With one bite I fell in love. I was intrigued by pictures of the coconut chicken and reviews said it was a must try. Toward the end I was scraping the sides of my plate trying to get every drop of curry! It's spicy, creamy, and the chicken is so soft the to go utensils easily cut through. One dish is definitely more than enough for two people if you add a side of rice and order of butter naan which is a must with any dish if you ask me. Chicken coconut is $17, butter naan $3, basmati rice $3. What really blew me away was the masala chai. I'm a fan of chai anything and when I saw it was only $2 I was very happy and had to have it. TBH I wasn't expecting much for $2 and the first sip was different then what I'm used to, no syrup or loads of sugar thank goodness! The chai flavor is the star as it should be and it was such a great treat! We ordered a side of samosas and were too full to try them immediately but so glad we had them. Some of my all-time favorite Indian food, anywhere. Their curries are truly amazing. I love their Indian Salad and their Tandoori dishes are delicious. Portion sizes are good, garlic naan is delicious, and the methi murgh is among the best curry I've ever consumed. Butter chicken and banno kabab have been a little inconsistent, and I wish they'd add a bit more "dressings" for the salad (they give a tiny bit of raita and chutney), but overall fantastic experiences. read more

This place is awesome. I had never had Indian food before. Came in on a Thursday night and took a suggestion from who I believe to be an/the owner. She suggested the Lamb Korma. Amazing curry! I got lamb vindaloo extra spicy, as most places don't have a vindaloo I find spicy. This was really hot and really tasty. The piece of naan bread you get is huge, too. It's usually quite good. The spiciness seems to vary a bit from visit to visit. While it isn't the best Indian in Everett, I personally believe it to be the best value. You get more meat for your money than other places, but some places have very slightly better flavor. I like to get takeout here at least once a week, and don't visit the place closer to me because it costs more for less food. read more

I picked up some carry out NYE. I got the Samosas, Chicken Tikka Masala and Paneer curry. Everything was very good and flavorful. The best Indian food in Everett! The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is inviting and pleasant, and the chefs really know what they're doing! My husband is from the UK and he's eaten at some of the best Indian restaurants in London, and he's told me how happy he is that we've got such a delicious Indian restaurant here in Everett. You won't go wrong with ordering basically anything you want from the menu, it's all made very well, with depth of flavor, love and care. We've become regulars here and we're happy to support this local and delicious restaurant. My wife and I stopped into this place after reading good reviews and unfortunately regret it. The food was brought out a decent time and was decent. We had chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. After a couple of bites, my wife began to feel a little off. Turns out the food has cashews in it and my wife is allergic. I ran out to grab her some Benadryl. When I returned we asked if any of the food had tree nuts in it and the waitress was able to say the butter chicken did but she didn't know about anything else. After checking with the kitchen, she confirmed that the butter chicken, tikka masala, AND one of the chutneys from our appetizer all had cashews in them. Mind you NONE of these had a warning of tree nuts or cashews on the menu. At the end, they made us a chicken tikka masala without cashews. The manager (I assume) told us that there were cashews all over the kitchen and just to "let them know you don't want them next time" like we were supposed to know this somehow. Overall, we won't be going back and I'm surprised this place passed a health inspection. We and the restaurant lucky my wife's allergy is not more severe. read more

It's hard during the pandemic for restaurants to keep open. They are forced to close down their dining and only do delivery or take out. It has resulted in a crisis in the restaurant industry, forced to lay people off, or even close their doors... Unless you are Curries, or a restaurant like them. They are the best Indian food in the area. It's not even close. I don't like indian food..the smells and spices are too heavy most often, makes me feel claustrophobic. Everything tastes the same to me. I LOVE curries. I picked up take out the day before yesterday. They are not hurt by the pandemic it seems because there wasn't space in their parking lot for me to park and get my food. It was like a well oiled machine of people going in and out to get their food. Its Indian food as the gold standard. Everything is flavorful and spicy. The employees are friendly. There is not a dish i've tried there where i didn't like it. Since there are too many dishes for me to describe in detail about how good they are i'll describe their dish that I probably like the least. Butter Chicken: They use large hunks of chicken breast in this dish. When you look at it, it's so nicely covered in sauce you'd think they are serving you braised sweet potatoes or large chucks of carrot. Don't let your eyes deceive you my friends, that's CHICKEN. I don't like it as much as other dishes because the chunks are large so the marinade/sauce doesn't really penetrate. This makes the chicken dry. The sauce though you could ladle it over rice and i'd be a happy man. That's it. That's their worst dish to me... My favorites: Lamb Briyani, Tiki Masala Stay away from nothing there.. Yaaaas, that curry and naaaaan for days! :) Came here with a coworker for lunch and left the place in an epic case of food coma. For those who are fans of Indian food and in particular curry, I highly recommend checking out this place. During the week, the lunch buffet does offer a solid selection of various curries, naan, rice, and light options such as fruit and salad. Prices for the buffet is pretty reasonable, given the high quality food. Of the curry options, the butter chicken and veggie masala = DELICIOUS. So so good. As for the other options, they were pretty good too but my love goes to the butter chicken and veggie masala. One fun tidbit about the lunch buffet that I found out from a staff member: Sometimes, the options offered at the lunch buffet may not even be on the menu! Also, the food are made fresh, and the refills of food are constant. :) So don't worry about eyeing the food constantly if things run low. Everything was very delicious and tasty. Apparently the spicy levels were a little too much for my kids on the biryani. The proprietors were very nice and friendly. Curries is sooooooooo good. This is a regular spot for us when we have a hankering for Indian food. I highly recommend the Murgh Shorba soup, palak paneer, lamb vindaloo, any of the naan breads, achaar, and ras malai. Everything we've tried has been tasty and generously portioned with two exceptions below. Shout out to the guy who answers the phone and collects payment. He's always so nice--cheerful on the phone and very friendly in person. If you have any questions about the food or preparation, they are always willing to help out. Now for the downside, which is why this is a four-star review for me. Every time we've ordered--and I mean *every. time.* I request less spice. I can handle a reasonable amount of spice, but I like my palak paneer mild. I always add a polite note requesting this. And each time I receive an order, it's exactly the opposite. The last palak paneer I had was so over the top spicy that it was almost inedible, which makes me wonder if they see the notes and add extra spice just to make a statement. If this were a Seinfeld episode, this would be on the level of "spite" spice. Even my husband, who is used to eating extremely spicy food, commented on how incredibly spicy it was. Secondly, we ordered the achaar (pickled vegetables) and received about a 1 tablespoon. For what we paid, we were surprised to see the amount, which was in a much larger container than necessary and made me think that we got the last of it for the night. Will I keep going back? Yes. Will I keep ordering online? Maybe. (Go to their website to order if you'd like to pick up. Or you can use Door Dash or UberEats.) What's more likely is that I will call so I can speak to someone and emphasize that I don't want spicy palak paneer. Otherwise, this neighborhood restaurant along an unassuming strip of Evergreen Way is a winner. read more
