Where to start with this one. I should have read the other reviews and booked somewhere else. So arriving at 7pm I figured things would be fine. They weren't. The top floor is so hot that you honestly can't breath. It's worse than being outside since there is no fans and it's just HOT stagnant air. Now I get into my room, or attic I should say. I'm 6ft. I could walk in 10% of the room. The rest I had to bend down or walk on my knees. The one same AC unit doesn't get over to the bed really so it's VERY warm in the room. Not being able to sit up on a bed is a huge red flag Now let's talk about the bathroom. I get it that it's key west. But when I am hitting the skylight in the shower cause it is so small there is an issue. I literally could only shower for a min before getting claustrophobic. You can't get ready in the bathroom cause it's so small you have to sit in a chair (cause of the ceiling) outside of it. Middle floors don't even have bathrooms in the rooms. You have to share one. ‍ The floors themselves are hardwood not treated in decades. Which means they are loud. How loud? I literally could give you a XXX play by play on what every room was doing. And they were "doing" at all hours. When I received the email about my stay I explained all these issues, nothing was responded to. Just check out instructions. Disappointed, Our room, #1, was tiny, only on of two lamps worked. Several items in disrepair, broken window in public area and door latch I fixed with a screwdriver I had. Never did see anyone there except room attendants. Sometimes there were tiny water bottles available but not always. If there was "breakfast" promised there was none except crackers and sometimes non were available. Location was good but parking was a nightmare. Not recommended. read more

Mixed Review -- see full review for pros and cons based on our recent stay. First, this is not a B&B. They do not serve breakfast. There is also not a host. It's essentially an 8 room hotel, without a front desk. It is owned by a commercial property management company. We try to stay at small, locally owned B&Bs when we can, especially since more and more are now owned by commercial property management and investment companies, particularly in places where commercial buy-ups are driving up the cost of living and market for small businesses to affordably own and operate. That said, if the property were nice, and well kept, and run with care I would have rated our experience higher. But you can tell that this place is only operating to turn a profit. It's neglected in in the name of "historic charm." We stayed in room 6 which was advertised as having a private balcony. In reality, it was just two plastic chairs under the side stairway. That said, not everyone shares our concern for corporate owned properties, so if the misleading branding doesn't bother you, there are some nice things about the property. They offer keyless check-in/out. You receive an email with access codes to your room and instructions on how to check out the day of your departure. The location is excellent, just a few blocks from Duval St, shops, and restaurants, but far enough away that it's quiet and residential. This is probably not the place to stay if you're looking for a party house. I normally reserve 3-star reviews for places I wouldn't re-visit and Curry House falls into this category. read more

Pros: The location is great and the room and balcony are very pretty. It's a shared balcony, but I did not find that inconvenient. My room did have a private bathroom. I could walk to everything and I did not need an uber once. Cons: There is no breakfast served on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. (That was not mentioned on Homeaway.com where I booked, and I felt that was very sneaky, as it was a selling point to me). You're given a voucher (kinda cool) that can be used at Harpoon Harry's nearby and fyi they only take cash. Overall, for the money I paid, I am disappointed there was no onsite weekend breakfast. It was something the partnered sites should mention. I would have picked another place to have the true B&B experience. read more

We accidentally stumbled into the bed and breakfast after our elopement. Although we were not guests of the bed & breakfast, we were greeted by Phil and Nancy who graciously invited my new husband and I in on our wedding day. Champagne and charcuterie board were given to us without asking. All the other guestseemed friendly enough to be neighbors. Everyone cheered our big occasion. Historically relevant and of great value the Curry House is a worthwhile attempt by Key West's League of Women to share with visitors facts about influential inhabitants of the island. We learned many interesting stories about the house and society in the late XIX. The League should be commended for the efforts put into preserving history and sharing it with visitors. Our first time to Key West and our first stay in a B&B. Adorable 3 story house just a few blocks from the hustle and bustle of Duval Street and the harbor = perfect location. We stayed in room 8 on the 3rd floor with a balcony overlooking the pool. Room is exactly as pictured, spotlessly clean! The only complaint I have about the room was the hard bed! (A foam topper would be perfect for it) Breakfast was served early, only caught it one of the mornings we were there - eggs Benedict, hash browns, and fruit, YUM! Sangria at happy hour. What more could you want?! I would most definitely stay here again next time in Key West!! read more

I was very disappointed with the Curry. They notified us the day we arrived that they were cancelling all amenities. No breakfast (supposed to be a bed & breakfast) and no cocktail party that were were promised. When we found the concierge she told us that she had been let go and as of 5:00 that night she was no longer employed at the Curry. We had no-one to resolve any issues that we had (one guest had a bad television). The pool was full of leaves and NOT HEATED!! If it was heated, they had the heat off to save $$$. We stayed at the Curry a few years ago and loved it but never again!! read more

The Curry house was a nice stay. The pool was great, it could use some maintenance of the pool liner - would not suggest sitting on the ledge with an expensive swim suite on. The grill was perfect and looked like it had never been used. This house was close enough to the store to pick up food and beverages. We enjoyed being able to make lunch at the house. We had no problem getting taxis or walking to most of our designations. We did rent a car for 2 nights and was able to find free parking one night and then a paid parking lot very close to the house. While it is labeled a B&B the breakfast was a bit lacking. Sometimes it was late being put out and then other times it would disappear without so much as a "last call". The first day they had everything out fresh fruit, cereals, milk, muffins, etc. By the last day of our 7 days stay there was 1 boiled egg left and a couple of yogurts. We had a group of 6 and I know other rooms in the house had guests, this would be my only major complaint. Our room (number 8) was perfect. The AC worked great, the shower was very nice, and had great water pressure. We did have to ask for fresh shower towels mid-week and the ladies cleaning were able to help us. Each day they did have fresh pool towels out. Over it was a wonderful vacation and we would stay at the Curry house again. read more

Had reservations for this weekend 10/12/19. Three days before check in I received an email saying it had been canceled due to a flood in the room that was reserved for me followed by an email stating they had overbooked. They refunded my money but now it's almost impossible to reserve another room even close to the price I had. I asked them if they would offer me a discount on a future rental for my inconvenience and I then got a reply email from Molly stating my money had been refunded and not addressing my request for discount on future rental. Bad customer service imo. Not even to offer a future rental discount. I guess I should be happy I got my money back after they cancelled on me. They just don't care seeing they haven't answered any complaints on yelp. Smh read more

For the amount of money we paid, Curry House was a disappointing experience overall. But let's start with the positive: great location. Within walking distance to everything and in a cute backstreet neighbourhood. Unfortunately, that's where it ends. First of all, it's very tired and unkept, mouldy floors, mildew smell... and your room only gets cleaned every three days. There is a breakfast included yes, but it's bad. We ate there one of our three days and then ended up eating elsewhere. A few slices of stale breads and pastries and our second day, the coffee ran out. I never write poor reviews but I felt this necessary because we relied on very positive reviews when booking Curry House. If you are going to spend the money, you can get your money's worth elsewhere. This place needs a serious revamp or to lower the prices to reflect the quality. read more

We have been to Key West many times but always stayed at the higher end hotels in the area. This time we wanted to try a B& B and decided on the Curry House. What a wonderful experience and great time we had! The staff was very friendly and courteous and consistently went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable. Every morning we were served a "real" breakfast, not the continental breakfasts that are served by most of the resorts. In the afternoon they had a happy hour by the pool that consisted of several different types of wine. The room was quaint and although the bathroom was small it was more than sufficient. There was a wonderful landscaped pool area and the pool was heated at night which is open 24 hours. My wife and I made a late night dip in the pool a nightly ritual and found it a perfect way to end each night. The Curry House is within walking distance of most things to do in Key West especially Duval Street and all it's "watering holes". We probably saved a couple of hundred dollars because we had no need to either rent a car or use taxis. Being frequent travelers, we know how pricey hotels and resorts are in Key West this time of year. The Curry House is a bargain for what you get. We loved it and plan on returning. We arrived at the Curry House around 7 pm on Wednesday, past the time when staff would be on site. Upon entering the room, the first thing we noticed was that a lightbulb was out. Another lightbulb was flickering in the bathroom. On the balcony there was an ashtray full of cigarettes and cigars on the table. We ignored these things cause we figured they'd be taken care of the next day when housekeeping came. When we arrived back in our room the next afternoon after housekeeping had come, none of the above problems were taken care of. On top of that, the dirty towels we used had not been replaced, the unused towels were also stained, there were leftover toiletries in the shower from the prior guests, the plastic water cups had not been discarded or replaced, the coffee cups had not been taken out of the room, the trash can had not been emptied, the bathroom had obviously not been cleaned, and lightbulb not replaced. The only "cleaning" that had been done was the top blanket folded back over the bed. Obviously not changed either. Spending just 20 more minutes cleaning the room would've made a world of difference but it seems like the absolute bare minimum is good enough at the Curry House. Annoyed but knowing we were leaving the next day we tried to make the best of it. Then later that evening the ceiling started leaking. Both in the bedroom and in the bathroom. We were on the second floor, this is not a leak from the roof. We ran downstairs, no one was around. We called the after hours number that was posted and there was no answer just a message saying it's past 6pm when they would normally answer phones. I pulled up the original Vacasa email and called them which again went unanswered. Emailed the address in the email which was unanswered for over 2 hours. Called a number listed on the welcome sheet. Again unanswered. At this point water is consistently dripping through the ceiling and we have towels and the ice bucket down. I even reached out on twitter to Vacasa to try to alert someone to the problem. We finally were able to get the innkeeper on the phone and she asked how bad it was and said to just put some towels down. She said it is a known problem and they were going to have someone out to fix it this weekend. Nothing more was offered. The last thing I'd expect to have to do on vacation is to deal with a dirty room with a leaking ceiling - all while paying over $200 a night. This has been an incredibly disappointing experience and I'll never book anything through Vacasa again. Customer satisfaction does not seem to be a priority to this company and you're better off looking elsewhere for lodging. We've since called and emailed Vacasa several times about this only to be ignored. read more

If you like getting ripped off, this is the place to book. For over $400 per night, you don't get much in term of amenities. Our room had a mattress that was probably 20 years old as it was sunken in on both sides and very uncomfortable. The only extra amenity was a refrigerator in the room with no freezer, no coffee pot, no extra toiletries. The room was obviously dated with floors that were not level as well as loose floor tiles. Pool? An 18 foot built in round pool with no sun until late afternoon on one side. Needless to say, I'll never be back there. read more

Curry House used to be a private house, owned by the Curry family, one of the founders of Key West. It feels just like that--that you are staying as a guest in someone's house. We loved it the moment we arrived. We had to share a bathroom with another room, but did not have any problem with that. Room is bright and clean, and the porch area is very nice. We rented room 9 in the curry house, that is a attic room with skylights in room and shower. Cute room very comfortable , it has a outside entrance and a in house entrance so , we were out late and we came up the outside entrance , very convent. This house was a good 3 blocks from Duvall st and there is absolutely no parking by house we were parked 1 1/2 blocks away. We walked everywhere , so we didn't lose parking spot. House was very clean , lots of towels and wash cloths, had a window air conditioner and well besides my husband hitting his head on the slanted walls a couple times , we had a nice time at the curry house. read more

I have stayed here 3 times in the past 2 years and will continue booking this house in the future. I can't say more about the service and hospitality the staff provides. "Sandy" who runs the place impeccably during the week serves not only as your concierge and info desk but as your friend really making you feel it's your house during your length of stay. I really don't think I would've continued booking the place if not for her. The communication with curry house was awful! I booked a room for $208 and when the price came up over $400 I canceled the reservation. I received the cancellation document. End of story, no. I got a call three days later that I could check in early. I told her we had canceled. She said ok. Today I got a text that I should have checked out at 10:00 and that the police were notified. They charged my credit card and wrote me a nasty text. I got ahold of the hotel and she said there was a mix up cuz another company does the booking. All is now good she said. I still have a charge on my card for over $400. I will never book there again. read more

I'm not pleased with this place. The location is definitely 5 Stars. However, the rest of it is not. Somehow I didn't see that this room has a shared bathroom! For $200 a night, I'd like to have my own bathroom. The first morning I didn't even have hot water to shower with! The room is small, dark, a little smelly and seems dirty to me. Several of the reviews talked about the friendly people who work here - but I haven't seen anyone working here. The breakfast is ok. I'd rather pay and get something a little tastier. This B&B was a bit overpriced for what it offered. On the plus side, the room was small but clean with nice sheets and decent towels -- but there was a nasty mildew smell every time we went in - which made us not want to go in. There was a veranda but it was not private. Maybe if they had run the A/C all the time the atmosphere would have been fresher in the room. The pool was pretty tiny. Breakfast was fine but nothing special. The location was good. In all, the website made it look better than it was. read more

I really loved staying here. It was very reasonably priced compared to the other bed and breakfasts in Key West, and a nice place. First time ever in key west and first time ever at a bed and breakfast. I would like to say this place way amazing. Very cozy, private, and with an old town feeling. We stayed here for 5 nights and had 5 amazing breakfasts. Table side breakfast with homemade food. Eggs, pancakes, omlets, fruit, and breakfast meats. Also 4 blocks from duval street and 4 blocks from the warf. Each room is equipped with a mini fridge and small tv (if that's what you want to do on your vacation). House also has a nice patio on each level. I would give this place 6 stars! The staff there makes the whole experience so much better with their kind hearts and knowledge of the local restaurants and attractions. Excellent job curry house! See you next time read more

This place sucked!!! And I don't complain much. For the money we paid we could have stayed in something much nicer. I don't mind old but they had not updated a thing. What a nice experience!!! I've been many many times in KW, and although most of the time had great experience, this place was special. First of all for the price, didn't expect much, but location is amazing, service fantastic and room I've got (w/ private bath) was remodeled and very nice... TV was very small, but then, who goes to KW to watch TV???? Louis, the manager is very nice too!!! Even a nice breakfast was included... Don't expect a 5 star luxury hotel, but if you want the best place for the money, this is it! Loved it!!! read more

This place is so nice. After booking the room with a little hesitation having not stayed at a B&B Before I was truly amazed. Louis and her husband John (I think)we're more then welcoming. They also helped us with recommending dining and fun tourist spots. The room we stayed in was room 7 and it was spotless! The room seemed a little bigger then the pictures and the balcony overlooked the pool which was also very well kept. The breakfast was really good too, bagels fruits and croissants. Took a chance (with so many possibilities) on the Curry house. We stayed in room 2. Nice shared balcony overlooks the backyard/pool area. Everything in the room was nice and clean. It's a little small, but you shouldn't be spending too much time in it anyway. Go explore! Sandy, the hostess is/was AMAZING! She was eager to give us tips, answer our questions, and was in a pleasant mood each morning. She even offered to book our activities for us. The only downside to this place is the parking situation. It's tough to find a spot. When you find one, I wouldn't move unless you have to. It was also spring break, so maybe that was it? But one day we spent a solid hour just driving all around the area looking for a spot. That's all I can say though. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Sandy made the place. Thanks again. We absolutely LOVE this place! We stayed on the first floor and had a door to the outside wrap around porch. It was so quiet even throughout the night. We never heard our neighbors unless we ran into them outside. The owners were so nice and helpful with recommendations. The breakfast was delicious and the pool was really nice! read more

When we arrived, the Innkeeper John was very friendly and offered us suggestions for attractions in the area. The room was quite nice, but we did have to share a community bathroom with a few others. There were no problems however. The highlight was receiving a hot breakfast the next morning, consisting of a ham and cheese omelet with a side of hash browns. When we would come down for breakfast in the morning she wouldn't have even say good morning and the man that cooked the breakfast didn't even look at us. Wonderfully quaint , historic old mansion half a block from bustling Duval Street. My girlfriend and I drove down to Key West on a whim and were lucky enough to be referred to Curry House by a Visitor's Center along the way. The staff were exceptionally helpful and we loved it so much, we stayed an extra day. Also when my gf complained about the remodeling noise they immediately moved us to a luxurious suite with king bed and quaint balcony. Both rooms had beautiful canopy beds which were very comfy. Also loved the pool with umbrella clad tables. A hearty breakfast of eggs or omelettes cooked to order and sausage, bacon, hashbrowns and several choices of breads, rolls or bagels, plus several juices is served poolside or on the expansive front porch depending on the weather. If we ever get back to Key West we'll definitely treat ourselves to Curry House Mansion again! Thanks to all the staff for everything! read more

My wife and I immediately felt right at home at The Curry House. Our hosts, Warren and Sue, were so kind and helpful to us as we visited Key West for the first time. We weren't surprised that so many other guests were repeat customers. Centrally located with a short walk along beautiful Key West streets to everything of interest. A real breakfast prepared each morning; we had french toast one day, omelets and eggs benedict the other days during our stay. A dip in the pool was a welcome relief at the end of each day and the Sangria happy hour was a perfect way to relax before heading out to dinner. read more

It was much bigger than we expected, and the high vaulted ceilings made it feel very spacious. Also, the location of the Curry House couldn't have been better! I celebrated my birthday soiree here along with five girlfriends who stayed here and another seven folks who came to party at this hospitatable B&B. The innkeeper and staff were beyond gracious and accommodating. The food plentiful and scrumptuously fresh. The rooms well-appointed. We took over the three rooms on the top (third) floor complete with veranda overlooking the lush gardens and pool. The pool was divine at 85 degrees. The lovely pool-side patio allowed us to spread out and enjoy each other's company in such tropical lushness. This is my second stay at The Curry House and the entire group agreed we'd be returning again and booking the entire place. Three blocks to the historic seaport and 7-8 blocks to raucous Duval Street. Perfect location. And just one block away on Eaton Street is a fresh seafood market where we bought out the stone crabs in season. Lovely. Staff was superb on giving us directions and recommending restaurants and tours. This is most definitely a five-star B&B. Enjoy. read more
