Chef Teena and her staff are amazing! I've come in 3 times for team building offsites and had the best experience each time. The menu is completely flexible (Italian, Indian, Mediterranean, etc.) and with big groups we've always had a few dietary restrictions that they're able to accommodate. Chef Teena is very responsive over email/phone, which makes logistics so easy. Chef Teena provides aprons and all the tools you'll need for cooking, as well as beautiful table to enjoy the meal. You're also able to bring drinks to share. She gives an overview of the menu and will assign different tasks to everyone to make sure it's a very hands on experience. We've always made an appetizer and main course, and the team brings out a delicious desert as well. The menu is based on foods that are in season and it always turns out so good! As part of a team building exercise I took a cooking class with my colleagues at Explore Culinary Arts. I have participated in several team building classes/activities in the past. Most of them were average to good. This class was great and so I felt compelled to write a review. There were a few things that really set this team building class apart from the others. The atmosphere was fun, energetic, and inviting. The class was very well planned from start to finish. Chef Teena was very engaging and friendly. She taught us how to make several Indian dishes and made cooking seem relatively easy (even to a novice like me). Our team really bonded as we cooked the evening away. Even some of the introverts in our team came forth and engaged with others a lot more than they usually do. We enjoyed a very nice sit down delicious dinner after the class. I wish we could have also learned some Bhangra at the class. I would take this class again in a heartbeat, especially if my company paid for it (just kidding) :) read more

Months ago I made reservations for a private event with a cooking school that my husband and I had taken a class from in the past. This reservation was the main event of a big surprise birthday celebration. - Four days before the date, I was informed that my event had been cancelled due to staffing issues. Panic! I combed the internet for a suitable replacement. Teena and Explore Culinary Arts saved the day. Teena organized staff, helped me plan an awesome menu that had some special dietary restrictions, and readied every detail. The best part was how easy she was to work with. The "surprise" was a success. The venue was amazing as was the staff and all of the preparations. We all had the best time, cooking, learning and laughing. Our meal was delicious -- We are such good cooks ;-) I cannot say enough about Teena and Explore Culinary Arts. We now believe it was a stroke of luck that the original place cancelled on us, which allowed us to discover Explore Culinary Arts, truly a cut above. 22 of us from Reach Analytics (a local Redwood City tech company) held a cooking/dinner party last night with Chef Teena and Chef Tony (and Teena's Mom, and four other awesome helpers). From the planning, to the pricing, to the training, to the surprises (a prize and dessert too), to the awesome meal we enjoyed there...it was really a great team event. Everyone was ebullient and the accolades are pouring in from the team this morning as well. We're a very multi-cultural team and I wanted to do a party for them that would honor that and bring us together in an active way. The meal was seamlessly prepared by the entire team because it was organized strategically for efficiency and the most collaborative fun. I recently yelped cooking classes for our work team building event and found Explore Culinary Arts. I reached out to a few people, but Chef Teena was so great in her response time, which made me feel excited to work with her. She was able to accommodate our team of 24, which a lot of other places weren't. Chef Teena provided us with several menu options to choose from and even said we could provide her something we were interested in if not on the options she provided. Very accommodating. Our group decided to go with an all Indian Cuisine, which appeased to both the vegetarians and non-vegetarians. She requested a 10% deposit prior to the event, which was very reasonable and payment options were very easy to work with. When we arrived at the location yesterday, it was beautiful. She had 2 tables set up for the group with wine glasses ready for us and the kitchen we cooked in was top of the line. It's inside Atherton Appliance, which is a show room of high-end cooking appliances. Because we were such a big group, she hired a few assistants to help her as well as a special guest Chris, who showed us how to make Naan bread and Chicken Tikka. She started out with a nice ice breaker and then we were divided into several groups in stations around the kitchen. Some made chutney, some made naan, some made chicken tikka, and others made a chickpea dish. Everything was clean and fun to work in. Once we all finished, we sat down to feast on our labor. Chef Teena and her assistants all brought out beautiful plates of our meal that we prepared and served us. She provided water too. You are able to bring your own beer & wine to enjoy during the event, which we did. After we had our nice lunch, we all gathered around the wood fire oven to watch a demonstration of flambeing bananas, which was cool. We were provided with a chai tea and our dessert which consisted of a pear cake and bananas foster. Another cool thing is that Chef Teena hired someone to take photos of our entire team during the day. I haven't seen the photos yet, but they are coming. It's nice that we have something to help remember the fun day we had. Overall, it was an amazing day. The team loved it and it brought us all together to do something so fun. We will definitely come back to Chef Teena in the future. I would highly recommend going to her for your team building events. You will not be disappointed. Absolutely great! We had Chef Teena cater a dinner for 9 at our house. She worked with me on the Indian vegetarian menu and it was all delicious. From the appetizers (vegetable fritters) to the dessert (pineapple upside down cake) it was a flawless meal. They also left the kitchen spotless and were incredibly professional and helpful. We were so excited about our cooking class with Chef Teena. Both of us have long been curious about Indian Food but the recipes in our Indian cookbooks were so overwhelming. Teena's recipes were easy to follow yet the flavors were so intense. Her preparation made everything so simple and we particularly liked how familiar we were with all the spices by the time we left. She also explained how we can make simple substitutions at home when lacking some of the more obscure ingredients. We can't wait to replicate her recipes at home.
