This is an elevated general store shopping experience! I discovered this location while traveling, it is not close to my home but if it was, it would be my daily destination for "fresh!" They have a huge selection of meats, seafood, cheeses, wine, beer, fresh cut veggies for easy meal preparation. One thing that is hard to find is old fashioned candies. They have them at this location! I bought coconut haystacks. Yummy sweetness! Stripling's General Store is amazing because it has all the necessary items you need to cook and you could even buy a birthday gift, hat, t-shirt, card, or a grill! We noticed a car's hood was smoking because the employees came out to help the woman signaling to cut off her car. I am pretty sure their shift just ended because they all seemed to be closing for the night and multiple employees walked out of the building. The lady parked her car at Waffle House and they walked over to help. Their interaction with the customer was a breath of fresh air. One of the employees gave her a ride. It was such a kind and caring interaction and the world needs more people like them! We will definitely be trying them out in the future based on this kind interaction outside of their workplace.

In particular, I wanted to buy some oxtail! I called The Butcher Shop to see if they had any and the guy who answered the phone was so kind and patient. He took the time to answer all of my questions. They do sell oxtail for $16.99/lb. I arrived to the store and to my surprise, they have beef bacon! I LOVE BEEF BACON. It's so hard to find it now a days, but when I do find it I definitely treat myself! I can't wait to cook it for breakfast tomorrow. Highly recommend The Butcher Shop and I'll be back soon!

Swung by after dinner with the wife so I wasn't hungry After browsing the meats i pulled an 11lb beauty from the cooler. Grabbed a pack of their burger patties and the wife picked out some Popping Pineapple sausage. I threw the sausage on the grill at 300 the next morning with breakfast. I can't remember the last time I had some fresh pork sausage. This blend was awesome. It was a bit too spicy for my wife but my daughter had no problems with it so it' was medium heat. Great excuse to go back for some mild so the wife can enjoy some. I don't think I have ever had fresh bacon so that is on the list for next time. The boston butt turned out perfect after 13hrs on the smoker. I marinated it with some Notorious P.I.G rub from their shelves of seasonings. The burgers are a must try at least once if you like to eat hamburgers. I will buy it again. . Really hope to get a chance to try their dry aged ribeyes. That's why when I finally reach the end of the cycle and I take them to the butcher, I want to get as much for my efforts as possible. For the last few years we have been getting less and less meat back from Yoders and it's not a coincidence or an error in calculating weight. I know how much my hogs weigh, and I know how much final meat one hog will produce, I've been at this for 20 years. The last time I took (two) 225 pound hogs to Yoders and I got a whopping 125 pounds of meat back. That's a loss of 325 pounds on the hoof. Some of that was bone, fat and head, but NOT 325 POUNDS WORTH. I will not be coming back here again and I think someone should look into where all this meat is going.

It had been out of date since January 2025. I was visiting in August 2025. They have a known habit of taking bad meat and covering it in butt rubb before rewrapping it. The management in store is also very very poor. The country store road location posted a hiring sign, I called and was told over the phone "OK call me Monday and we will get you in the system and go from there", then the manager blocked my number and ghosted me. I have 24 years of experience in grocery stores specifically, so their is definitely something not kosher in why he suddenly changed his mind, especially given his comments about "the kind of people who work at Pic N Sav."
