Curtis Liquors is where Atlas Liquors once was and I would say it has a decent selection for a local liquor store! It's definitely not as big as Total Wine & More but it gets the job done. Prices are fair and very similar to other liquor stores around. If you're looking for popular big brands like High noons, bud light, corona, Hennessy, etc, they will have it, however, likely won't have smaller brands. I was in here checking to see if they had Corona Refrescas that I swear I saw them have before but couldn't find them anywhere unfortunately. Parking: they have a free parking lot w/ a good amount of spaces; usually doesn't get too packed so you should be fine with parking if you decide to grab something from here. read more

Been coming to this liquor store for years, before when it was atlas and now when it's Curtis! Staff usually has been really chill overall. I'm not in there very long as i usually pickup the same certain liquor bottles, hard seltzers and the like. They have what I'm looking for in wine, cognac tequila or the cans. The look of the store inside hadn't changed too much over the years but they are easy parking, has the Liq and also sells bags of ice (found outside the store). Prices are competitive from what I usually see around, not the cheapest but competitive. Be back next event. read more

Really good 'packy' in Quincy. Atlas is actually bone of the best. They boast a very nice beer selection, domestic, foreign and microbrew, as well as aa great selection of wines and a nice scotch selection too. From average to expensive, blends to a single malts. I purchased a 12 pack of beer here that was spoiled and management refused to offer an exchange or refund. I pressed him on it but he said no way. Considering how infrequent and unlikely it is for a pack of beer to be spoiled, as well as how little money we're talking about, I find it ridiculous that they refused to budge on this. There are too many alternatives in the area with as good or better selections. My business is going elsewhere. read more

I had no idea this place had some real good deals on certain liquors and super amazed at the extensive wine collection! Very impressive indeed. My neighbor asked me to get some stuff for her since she can't drive for a bit after a recent accident. Who knew this place - despite being not too far away from where I am, was totally ignored by me just because it is not on my usual driving routes. Well, now I know... I like the arrangement in the store. Especially the wine section. The wines are very well arranged and classified into sections per countries of origin. Now for not a very huge liquor store, that is something quite uncommon. I felt like a dork taking a picture of the wine section - but hey, I had to. Most small liquor stores have enough options to chose from but the aisles are so full to make the most of the space, and there is no classification of any sort - more often than not, and if there is - for wines, its based on the different kinds of reds, and whites and that's about it. Not here. Plus, I also liked that the focus here is more on specific brands and of good quality at that (really good French wine collection), and those were displayed in neat columns. And the prices are just too good. Finally, the kind of sale prices on certain brands of Vodka - possibly the best prices I have seen in Quincy. since national stopped carrying my 1.75 litre gosling's black seal (;_;), i've been in the market for a new purveyor of fine spirits. atlas has just won out - for now. in addition to the aforementioned gosling's, atlas has a HUGE selection of scotch and craft beers. macallan 12, macallan 18, macallan . . . 17? i didn't even know they made a 17. glenlivet 12, 15, 18 & 21 are all here - one big happy loud red-nosed hiccoughing family. the big brands are well represented, but so are many smaller, hard-to-find makers. i assume this would apply to all of their liquors but, frankly, i barely made it out of the whiskey aisle alive. the wine selection is moderately sized, but well organized by nation/region and variety each clearly marked. within each region atlas stocks wines at a variety of price points from the 2 for $12 specials to $70 or $80 a bottle mama-jamas. their craft beer selection is superb. atlas offers most varieties both in their coolers along the entire back wall, or warm in their own aisle. i estimate it will take me a solid year or 2 to drink my way through their selection. the staff is friendly, but the first time i went in i bought a bottle of scotch that was supposed to be on sale and was charged full price for it. i didn't catch it at the time. their bad for overcharging me, my bad for not noticing it. live and learn. not something i'm docking them for, but i double-check my receipts if i'm buying something on sale. it's location at the intersection of adams street and beale is reasonably convenient, even without a car. read more

Agreed the wine selection is lacking, but they've got a tremendous craft beer selection, especially given their South Shore location. Staff is super helpful with suggestions, and they've carried an item specifically for me, are happy to order something not on the shelves if their distributor can get it, etc. If I'm nearby and looking for cheap prices, a solid selection, and genuinely friendly service, I'm here. read more

If I could 0 stars I would. I came in to get some liquor with my wife, I went to the register to cash out. I gave them my state ID, they wanted my wife's ID she didn't have her ID. Why does she need her ID, I am purchasing the liquor. I have never encountered this scenario in any liquor store I've gone too in all of Massachusetts. But thanks for the experience because I will never set foot in your liquor store, matter of fact any Atlas liquor store anywhere. That is the most ridiculous policy I've ever heard of. The interior was always pretty shabby with the missing ceiling tiles and all, but now that the entire front canopy collapsed I don't think I'll be going back. Just too dangerous. And do you think they ever apologized? Copeland package is very clean and has a great selection. read more

The selection is decent on beers and liquors, but the wine is eh. The reason I steer clear of the place is the consistent unfriendliness/rudeness of the employees. There is one older lady there who is very sweet, but if you get anyone but her they are RUDE. I only go here if they have exactly what I need, or if it is on the way to where I am going. Great liquor store - they have everything you need. Anytime we're in Quincy we stop and stock up on liquor because they have pretty good prices. The also have the nicest little old lady that works there... she makes me smile every time. Though they have a decent parking lot, we've almost gotten into 4 car accidents while parking or trying to leave. It's a little tight so be extra careful! Don't drink and park! read more

Their craft beers are sometimes skunky, I find. You're better off going over to Stop and Shop in NQ for beer where things seem to move more. They buy a lot of junk that gets dusty. The wine selection is meh. I've asked simple questions of employees and can never get any kinds of answers. They're generally not very friendly. I'm not surprised by the racist comment. Great beer selection! Wine selection isn't awful but it probably wouldn't be my go-to wine shop (anyway, who am I kidding, 90% of the time I'm content with Bota Box anyway, which they carry). I was looking for an Italian wine but the other associate had no fucking clue of what products they carried. It was such a joke. Atlas has competitive prices and an incredibly helpful staff. I've found their employees to be knowledgeable without being pushy.

Nothing like having an ad on your website and then act befuddled when a customer asks for an item in the ad. Atlas Liquor in Quincy advertises their "sale" items I guess to bring you into the store with the intention of selling you something that isn't on the sale list. Last week we drove all the way to Atlas for an item listed in the sale and then was told that they don't even stock it that maybe one of the other stores called Atlas Liquors do stock it or might some other time. When asked to check into it it I was told I'd get a call back after they asked the boss the next day and of course never got a call back. Compared to the personal service I have received at Gary's Liquor in Hancock Village, also a long drive for me, this place is a waste of time. read more

Have probably the best micro-brew selection in the area. That's not saying much since though. Prices seem all over the place, some things cheaper than usual, some overpriced. People working range between helpful and eyeing you down because they think you are stealing. read more
