End of update. I cannot say enough good things about Orange Theory and this location specifically. I started my journey with OTF about a year and a half ago and it has been a fun one! From the different challenges and benchmarks to just all around relationships you make while at the gym... this is why I feel comfortable giving it five stars. Those reasons as well as I have traveled to other locations around the US and the coaches and front desk attendants are the friendliest and are super helpful. I certainly have my favorite coaches, but I cannot choose just one. All are amazing! The current roster there is: Rachel - Head Coach Maggie Brandy Shelby Lauren Theresa All of them are top notch and you will not be disappointed. I am a bit of an obsessor for corrections and all of them give constructive help every class! I also enjoy the extra activities they put on for the members. So fun! Your first class is free. Because Tulsa has a log of gym options and Genesis promotes itself as a Luxury gyms. This might of been true when it first opened but is no longer so. Is not that they lack amenities but the gym is starting to look a bit run down for a luxury gym and they try to do too many things and some of them are not well done. Lots of equipment that is starting to show wear and Luxury gyms usually replace the equipment if they can't fix it up to a high standard. More is not better a prime example of that is their Functional fitness room, it's disorganized, dirty lots of equipment there that just doesn't make sense or fit their market share Accessories, totes and stuff thrown all over the gym makes it look disorganize and is unnecessary. Now the good: Genesis is quiet space, members are polite and everyone stays to themselves. They offer a packed class schedule and Personal training have a decent selection of Free weights, Machines and Cardio equipment. Their market is for the Master bodybuilder, seniors, parents that need childcare that want to keep to themselves and just want to get their work in. Well appointed Locker rooms with showers are well kept. Shot out to the new guy at the front desk is polite, eager to learn and grow and is hard to find employees now in days. My hat of to the guy who cleans in the morning, he's always hard work moving fast and running all over the gym getting the job done. Everyone I interacted with was polite and nice.

The facility is poorly maintained, with dirty broken equipment, and unsanitary locker rooms. The staff overall is helpful, other than one front desk guy who lacks any customer service skills. There are never any towels available for the workout areas or the locker rooms. The steam room is rarely cleaned, has debris on the floor, and either doesn't work or scalds your skin. Additionally, this is the second year in a row where the AC doesn't work, making it extremely uncomfortable to workout. I would not recommend this gym to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, and well-maintained workout environment. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Tulsa's newest YMCA is officially open! I've been looking forward to this location since I heard…read moreabout it in November. It is an impressive facility on the west of Riverside. There's a beautiful mural on the east side of the building. As soon as I walked in, I was blown away by another colorful mural of a soccer player and a floating ball installation. It is called "The World in Play" with each ball representing a country with an active YMCA soccer program. This location will feature three indoor fields, but right now, only the soccer one is fully finished. To the left, there's a cardio circuit training with state-of-the-art equipment, including two curved self-propelling treadmills, which engages more muscle groups and mimicked a more natural running motion. Next to the circuit, there are restrooms, showers, lockers, and a local soccer jersey collection. To the right, there's a meeting room and "The Hive", an interactive obstacle course that seems super fun for kids (ages 8 and up). It has climbing ropes, ball obstacles, game targets, and a scoreboard to play games. On the second floor, there are more cardio and strength equipment. There's an age limit to go upstairs (15+). To join, they don't have a joining fee. Membership prices are available on their website starting at $28 a month. Nearby residents get a free memberships.
