Small strawberry vanilla twist with sprinkles!
    Hannah L.

One of my favorite seasons of the year is here: ice cream season! And what a treat it was to stop at Custard Corner for my first ice cream run of the season. This little Westside joint serves up a wide range of summertime favorites: from burgers and hot dogs to milkshakes and sundaes, they've got it all. The line was pretty slow moving when we visited, but once you place your order, your food comes out pretty quickly which was so nice! I opted for a strawberry vanilla twist with sprinkles. In a waffle cone, of course. And wow was it delicious! You don't find strawberry soft serve in too many ice cream shops around here, so it was a real treat for me. I ordered a small, and the size was plenty. My boyfriend got a large hot fudge sundae, which was also pretty sizable. So I'd say their sizing is well worth it for the price. They have so much to offer on their menu -- truly something for everyone, even those who don't have a sweet tooth. I'll definitely be back for more of that strawberry soft serve!

Pretty much stopped raining before we left to take our lunch to Front Park, which is practically right across the street from Custard Corner

Even in the rain it's a great place to grab lunch or supper. I was pleasantly surprised by how UNgreasy everything was. Especially the Italian sausage with peppers and onions. Don't know how they do it, but I must say that for grilled and fried foods, Custard Corner has the healthiest available. I dropped a couple of the onions from my sandwich on my pants-- zero grease spots. And since I'm a low salt person, I was impressed that the fries came with option. Lynette ordered the nachos with meat sauce. Don't know what happened to my photo of that. They were just okay. Could have had more meat. And more sauce. And more nacho cheese. But I think we all liked the onion rings and fries. I really enjoyed the Italian sausage, hadn't had one in a couple of years. As I say on one of the photos, we took our lunch to Front Park, down a couple of blocks and across the street. Had our folding chairs in the car and ate under the protection of the shelter there. Actually, there is another park even closer for a picnic lunch. Columbus Park. Front Park is home to a memorial to Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry, while Columbus Park has a statue of, yep, Christopher Columbus. Though I think that statue has been put away for safer times. Worth noting: Custard Corner also has great custard, as well as Perry's ice cream. And their menu is online, so you can decide ahead of time what you want to order.

Went with a friend and ordered two scoops of a Perry's (less than $5) and it was the perfect cool down treat! The service was prompt and the staff professional. They also have an large food menu, but that will have to be for another visit/review. The parking lot can feel a little cramped, but it's a nice spot with outdoor seating.

First time coming here for ice cream. They had a huge variety of hard and soft serve ice cream. I had the half and half soft serve custard in a sugar cone and my bf had black cherry and dirt sundae in a waffle. Both were great and a small was the perfect size. Would definitely recommend coming here!

If it's raining and soccer is cancelled... get soft serve custard! Obviously.

This place was originally called "Cuss-word Corner" because the corner it's on features a lot of budding rap stars, panhandling and freestyling, so naturally, you tend to hear one or two cuss words. However parents were reluctant to bring their kids to such a cussy place, so they cleaned up their act, started making custard, and changed their name. I stopped at this custard stand in the middle of a lightning storm, the same lightning storm that caused my soccer game to be cancelled, just across the street at Front Park. If you're anywhere in the vicinity of the Peace Bridge in summer time, and fancy some lovely custard, then this is the place to go. It's average priced, and pretty delicious custard. The only thing is that they actually put narcotics inside the custard, so once you have some, you have to keep going back for more. And the portions aren't particularly huge, so your habit will cause you to get really overweight and spend all your money here at Custard Corner. Okay, I made the whole last paragraph up. And the first.

    Small twist custard

Stopped by here tonight as I had a craving for some soft serve. There were some parking spots on the side and a nice seating area as well to enjoy your treat/meal. I walked up to the ordering area and there was some woman cleaning away. I had to tap on the window to get her attention after standing there for a while. I noticed they have a good menu consisting of custard, hard ice cream, shakes, sundaes, and more. I ordered a small twist custard on a sugar cone. For $3.05 you don't get much, but boy was it delicious. The custard was nice and dense with good flavor. I'll have to try some of their other items the next time I'm around that neck of the woods.

My husband and I came here to try the Yelp Ice Cream Adventure Special and some food. It's a cute little ice cream shack with a seating area across from it. I tried the #4 Haddock & Fries combo with a drink. The fish sand which was ok. It's not the best I've had in Buffalo. I ordered mine with no veggies. Cheese and tartar sauce only. The same way I order a fish sand which anywhere else. The fries smelled and looked really good, but tasted a little undercooked. They could've used another min of cooking. My husband got a #2 Quarter Pound Cheeseburger with bacon, fries and a drink. He liked it. He said his fries were ok. He didn't think his tasted undercooked. Now. The Yelp Special. It was good. It's Vanilla Custard mixed with Caramel Sauce, Pecans, Spiced Apple chunks and topped with Pecans. But I have one complaint and also a question. Why would they choose to put Pecans (a tree nut) in it? Tree Nuts are a major food allergy. It seems like by putting a tree nut in their special, they are limiting how many people can eat it.

    Heath arctic swirl
    Kunjané L.

Hadn't been here in a while but decided to make it our first stop during the ice cream adventure and unfortunately it wasn't the best experience. The cashier wasn't sure what the yelp special was and had to get someone else to describe it. The portion size was certainly not worth the $5 and it didn't seem too enticing from what she told us. I ended up getting an arctic swirl (not the special), my daughter had a milkshake and my boyfriend had one as well. The prices seem to be going up yet the quality is pretty mediocre. We'll be back for the nachos.

    Yelp Sundae

Places like this make me appreciate that I am a part of the Yelp community. Had it not been for the "Yelp Ice Cream Adventure", I don't know that I would have ever stopped here. Now that I have stopped, I would come back again. We ordered the pastelito special and the Yelp sundae. The pastelitos were surprisingly good, not the best in the area, but not bad. I would would definitely swing by and grab a couple the next time we are at the dog park if I was hungry. I still have a couple to go, but so far this has been my favorite "sundae" on the Yelp adventure. The tables were nice and outside of the traffic is had a pretty mellow vibe. I was surprised by this little gem and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

I'll be honest, I've been putting off ordering a few pints because I didn't want to make the effort/time for picking it up. Thanks to a dear friend, a fellow Yelp Elite, I've FINALLY had the opportunity to try some pints, and holy smokes, Living the Cream is phenomenal! Note that in to order flavors, you'll want to follow "livingthecream_" on Instagram, "living_the_cream_" on Facebook, which showcases any new flavors being crafted and hosts the link to place your order. I tried two flavors: Oreo Brownie Smash and Orangey Eggnog Stracciatella. Oreo Brownie Smash is Oreo cookie ice cream with brownie batter swirls, Oreo cookies & cream cookie dough, and half-baked brownies and Orangey Eggnog Stracciatella is spiced eggnog ice cream infused with Jim Beam and Platter's dark orange chocolate stracciatella. Just. WOW! Absolutely no complaints, each was bursting with flavor and packed with so many mix-ins. I loved finding huge Oreo cookies & cream cookie dough chunks and just how chocolatey Oreo Brownie Smash was thanks to all the brownie bits swirled in. The Orangey Eggnog Stracciatella had the creamy, comforting flavor of eggnog with a nice nip of Jim Beam that let you know it was there but never overpowering. The crunchy bits of the dark orange chocolate stracciatella cut through all the creaminess, only elevating the ice cream overall. Opening both pints, I was super impressed how jam-packed they were - It took a bit of effort to get the lids off, the pint was on the cusp of overflowing! So I didn't order these pints so I can't give you the most accurate pricing info, but after trying a couple flavors, I'm happy to order a few pints myself without thinking too much about the cost. I'm really glad Living the Cream is out here, churning up amazing ice cream flavors for Buffalo! As a few other Yelp reviews mention, make a little room in your freezer and treat yo'self to a couple pints of some of the creamiest, mix-in full ice cream you'll ever have!

On a Saturday, around 8pm or so, the family and I were walking downtown Jamestown and came here for a cold and creamy treat! From what I could tell, they only served hard ice cream, which was locally made by Addie's Ice Cream, along with sundaes, floats, etc., so no custards here, but no complaints here! After perusing their flavors, we were able to go right up to the window and place our order. There appeared to be about two or three people working, but they were courteous and quick, including the woman who took our order. There were a couple of benches near this shop but more than likely, expect to stand or walk somewhere else to sit. We all ordered medium-sized ice cream cones and upgraded to the waffle cone for an additional 75 cents. I went with their New York Cheese Cake and Mint Oreo Fudge flavors. The NY Cheese Cake flavor was on top and was very creamy! I loved how the cherries were swirled in. The Mint Oreo Fudge was an excellent closer for my ice cream cone as it was fudgy with plenty of Oreo cookie pieces and the right amount of mint flavor. The medium-size was the perfect portion too, it left me plenty satisfied. I will admit the prices might seem a tad on the high side, but the ice cream was very good and I like to support local places when I can.
