This is the only place I will buy ice cream from in the area because the ice cream is great, they have a HUGE variety of flavors and you can bring a blanket and sit on the lawn if there's isn't a place to sit (there are umbrellas at the outdoor tables and a sheltered place to sit off to the side). This place is always so busy in the summer time and rightly so, who doesn't love ice cream on a hot day! The wait is never really that long even when it looks long, the staff keep things moving quite well. They're always so patient, friendly and polite, thank you guys for continuously doing a great job, you are appreciated!!! Sometimes I want butter pecan or a maple walnut sugar cone. Sometimes I need vanilla soft serve with chocolate sprinkles in a cup and sometimes I want lemon ice. First time here. While staying in Buffalo area, we ate at a local restaurant then decided we wanted ice cream. Luckily, we were only two minutes away. I really really like ice cream so I was excited to try this place. The first thing I saw was the tractor and barn outside. I saw a cute wraparound porch and a small line. This is how I knew i was at the right place. Behind it is apparently a putt putt place. There were a lot of people out and about. Everyone in line was happy and helpful to each other. I've been going to the Village of Lancaster for a few things, and the route my GPS takes me was past Green Acres. I noticed it several times, and finally one day rounded up the fam' to make a trip to actually try Green Acres. It is also hooked to a mini-golf and driving range (which I believe is a separate business, but you could make a day out of it all). The menu is large here, I'm sure I've yet to read it all. With social-distancing, it is difficult to get up to the menu board to study it for all that long, since it is right up at the register. But I've been pleased with all my picks so far. They have lighter options here too, like Dole Whip and a couple frozen yogurt and no sugar added hard scoop flavors. Another fave here is the wider variety of dip flavors for soft serve! I love getting soft serve in a dish with dip, so it pools and forms a crusty candy ring of crunch! I've tried the birthday cake dip, and BA-NA-NA! The banana was my fave so far, love banana-flavored sweets, which are harder to find anywhere. My husband has tried a couple different sundaes, and has been happy. The apple pie one was his fave so far. They have a large sundae menu with many combinations of toppings, I'm sure he'll continue to eat his way though that list. I docked a star as there is not a lot of seating here, and each time we've been it has been somewhat busy. But the parking lot is in a bit of a valley, and many folks will sit on the grass wall next to their car, which is where we usually end up. Cards are accepted here for payment and it is all contact'less, which I very much appreciate as opposed to handling cash. One other qualm, which is not the problem of the business, is we have had to ask people to back up. Green Acres has lines clearly marked to keep patrons six feet apart while waiting to get up to the order window. It is not rocket science: stand on your line, when the line moves up, move to your next line. I wish I knew about this place sooner. We arrived around 8pm and the line was super long. First good sign :). You'd think you'd be waiting forever to order and get your desserts. Nope, not even close. They got through the line quickly and as fast as they took care of their customers more lined up. The cashier was super friendly. We got four parfaits to split. The size is massive. Two people could split one parfait and be satisfied. The choices for dessert are endless and their is definitely something for everyone. Not only do they sell Mayer Brothers Apple Cider Slushies, they also do apple cider milkshakes, and.... wait for it... cider slushie floats! Complete with vanilla soft serve, the cider slushie float was the best fall treat I could've asked for. They also have some seasonal sundae options that are apple-centric. What could be better than warm apples and sweet vanilla ice cream? I don't know how I've never had anything off of their autumn menu before. What else: Lake Effect Ice Creams, and the server's phone number. The servers are cuties though, for sure. Especially the one who served me. Thanks to your review, I found this place the other day when looking for a new summer dessert spot to try, and I absolutely adored it! And according to Garland, if it was a cemetery, it'd be "Grim Acres." First of all, the extensiveness of the selections is fantastic. Like most places around here, they have a ton of Perry's ice cream choices, but they also have Lake Effect Ice Cream choices from Lockport, and Wow Cow flavours as well as Upstate Farm Flavours. So a whole smorgasbord of Ice Cream variety. Then they also have their own italian ices and custards. Secondly, and even more amazingly, are the prices. I got a vanilla custard for a dollar, a lake effect ice cream for barely more than a dollar, and a Mango flavoured Italian Ice for a dollar. So for under 3.50 total, I got 3 different treats. You will never find prices like this anywhere else. It's like going back to the 1970s, only the servers are less hairy. But thirdly, and best of all, is the quality of the products! I've had Lake Effect Ice Cream before and it didn't blow me away. Down here, especially given the fact that they charge less than LEIC in Lockport do, I liked it even more. The Vanilla Custard was as delicious as it was cheap. One of the best tasting custards in the 716. Creamy and perfect. And the Italian Ice was surprisingly fantastic. I'm a bit of an Italian Ice snob and this one pleased me immensely. It was Mango, and if it were a man that had just walked out on me, I'd be wondering "where did that mango." Long lines are not a surprise but they move pretty quickly with 2 windows serving. Sadly it's only open in the fleeting warm months, so get yourself down here and give it a try before the snow comes back (probably, like, next week). Is it the best ice cream in town? Well Antoinette's and Sweet Jenny's would take 1st and 2nd spot on that count, but for the all-round-best-cold-desserts, this place wins. This is the only place I go for frozen custard in the Cheektowaga area. It's slightly out of my way, Frosty's a little closer but the creamy taste, flavor and texture is beyond WOW! Been here a few times before and even when there's a line, it moves fast. Lots of flavors of Perry's to choose from, as well as sundaes, parfaits, and more. There are a few picnic tables out front to sit down, or go next door and play a round of mini golf. Bring the kids as there's stuff for them to climb on too. In the summer they offer free outdoor family movies weekly, as well as glow in the dark night. In the fall they sell pumpkin and more fall themed treats (like cider). But hey, at least you'll never go there thinking, "Man, I could go for some Pistachio," and leave disappointed, right? The building sits in front of the Broadway Driving Range & Miniature Golf Course, which can certainly make for a nice evening if you decide to spend it playing putt-putt and follow it up with an ice cream cone afterwards. Nothing like spending some time with family and friends outdoors! On Tuesdays they have free movie nights, which always seems to be a big hit with the kids. Thursdays is "Glow-in-the-dark" night, which includes free glow spoons with the purchase of any sundae, flurry, ect., a glow bracelet with the purchase of a cone, milkshake, ect., plus the golf course is specially lit for the occasion, along with the glow-in-the-dark golf balls. Ah green acres, the ice cream shop of my childhood, teens, and rest of my life. I love this place, and I've always enjoyed playing a lousy game of Putt putt with friends or family and finishing the evening with a nice big ice-cream dessert! Times haven't changed, except that the damn virus closed everything but not to fear! Green Acres is still serving and still making the same delicious ice-cream treats as always. I used to always come here for Lake Effect ice-cream which they stopped serving for some reason but I was sooo excited to see they now carry my all time favorite ice-cream Caramel Caribou! If you have seen any of my other reviews I'm kind of a caramel fiend and I got an amazing double scoop of caramel caribou with extra caramel on top XD because it's just that good. Prices here are always great and the staff are fantastic as well. For the time being they're accepting call in orders but the phone lines are SUPER busy so keep calling and trying. Green Acres is the place to be. ice cream eatin' is the life for me. Anyone who knows me knows that I would take a bullet for an ice cream cone. It's my favourite thing to eat and my favourite kind of place to check out for the first time. I planned on seeing Deadpool 2 Friday night but thanks to some bad timing and some full showings that somehow turned into taking a drive to Depew to give Green Acres Ice Cream a try. I came here around 8PM and they had quite a line out front (which is usually a good sign). The place itself is a cool little wooden building that overlooks a mini golf course and some woods, or maybe just a couple of trees, I don't even know. The menu here is pretty massive offering all different kinds of ice cream from Perry's hard ice cream, soft serve ice cream, sundaes, ice treats, and even some dip n' dots style. My weakness came out and I preceded to order a 2 scoop of One Buffalo and Mint Chocolate Chip (forgot the name, mint-ting-a-ling? or something along those lines). The catch? I got it in a chocolate chip cookie cone, game changer. The ice cream itself was of typical Perry's delicious quality and the cone was hard enough to keep the ice cream from leaking out of the bottom and tasty enough to end up joining it once again in my stomach.
