I brought my kids to Rosie's on the west side on a random Tuesday night; figuring, how busy could it possibly be on a Tuesday?! Well, the line was literally out the door at 7 PM! But honestly? The moment you walk in, none of that matters. The smell is pure bliss! You're immediately hit with the aroma of fresh cones baking, and you're surrounded by ice cream made right there. It's a small space, packed with a lot of people, but the line moved surprisingly well. The servers are extraordinarily patient and kind, which is even more impressive considering it was a hot July Tuesday. They do have a limit on samples, and I actually think that's a great thing... it keeps the line moving and makes people more deliberate about what they want to try. Once we sat down, we had some of the most delicious ice cream I've ever tasted in my life. We even took some pints home, and it was just as delicious there as it was in the shop. My latest stop here was just yesterday as of writing, I got the blueberry pie ice cream and it is amazing, along with a scoop on the cold brew flavor in their homemade waffle cone. The "scoopers" as they are called on signs in the shop have always been outstanding and very nice. The vibes from Rosie's are always great, super chill even when there is a long line. Previously, I had only been to their EA location. I was surprised to walk in and see a bar to the left & the ice cream selection on the right. There were no patrons at the bar when I visited, but it was around 1ish in the middle of the week, so not too surprising. There is both indoor and outdoor seating for enjoying your ice cream or beverage. There is also a big glass window where you can see the ice cream makers in action... How neat is that?! I had to get a cinnamon waffle cone because they are made in house and absolutely delicious! Not to mention, I've never seen a cinnamon waffle cone elsewhere and I love cinnamon! That was the easy decision... Then I had to narrow it down to just 3 different flavors to get in my cone. I ended up choosing off the seasonal menu because I don't get out Rosie's way often; I got the Spiced Mocha, Joshalicious and 42 Drunken Raisins (see descriptions in pics). I enjoyed them all as I usually do when I have ice cream. It's tough for me to meet an ice cream that I don't enjoy. I love that Rosie's has such creative flavors too. They even have one with crickets in it that I want to try called Cherry Chirp. Unfortunately it was not on the menu this time. The service was fast & friendly. I went here 2.5 weeks ago with my niece. The service was great! There was a cool bison in a sign/mural that said Have a Rosie Day within it. The tables weren't uncomfortable, which is important to me. The service was good. I had one scoop of 42 Drunk Raisins and one of their other flavors. Went in before they were closing for the last evening and tried two flavors, which were both good in their own right. One of them was an oat milk based ice cream, which was delicious and I have never tried before, but I will definitely be on the lookout for ice cream made with oat milk in the future. The other was called Santa's cookies, which was definitely a bit indulgent and had huge chunks of sugar cookie dough in it! Ice cream scoops werea bit on the high side, price wise, but definitely a nice treat from time to time. The staff are very friendly and let me try a few different samples and definitely look forward to checking out Rosie's in the future for more flavors and to hang out at the bar area. Went to Rosie's on West Utica today in the west side of Buffalo, I brought my four siblings with me because they've never been there before and I was hyping it up way too much. Not only did we each get a double scoop on a waffle cone which is about $8 a pop, but the staff there today was very rude to us. The employee with the long hair he looks kind of Irish with blue eyes was very rude he insinuated that we were holding up the line when in truth, my sisters who would never been there before we're just inquiring about flavors and already being helped. Where he could have simply said "I can take the next customer down here" he chose to say "hey folks can we keep the line going this way instead of you all standing there holding the line up?" Rude!!!! Then upon cashing out for my double scoop on a cone, the girl who was ringing my order charge me for a double scoop on a cone plus a single scoop on a cone, when I asked her why she overcharged me, another girl who was also rude about the line interjected and says "ugh, the same price" when in fact it was not the same price, after she had already gotten an attitude with literally everyone standing in line she inserted herself in my conversation with the girl who was cashing me out during a moment where she knew nothing of what she was speaking about. Again, rude!!! Next time my family gets together for ice cream we will NOT be going to Rosie's we will be going to Hannah's. Do better! read more

Disappointed. People said this place was great. I'm used to Lake Effect Ice cream on Hertel and Sweet Jennie's in Williamsville. I got the blueberry crumble and the peanut butter fluff in a dish. As the girl was scooping the first flavor: the fluff, I watched as she purposely avoided the ribbon of fluff and scooped around it. I asked if the fluff was only in that ribbon or was it throughout. She insisted it was throughout. It wasn't. I got zero fluff. Yes, it tasted like peanut butter flavored ice cream with a few peanut pieces, but that was it. The blueberry crumble was sort of the opposite: all crumble, very little ice cream. I couldn't dig my spoon into it. Instead, the crumble sat in a slab on top of my spoon and I ate it by just taking bites of the slab. The place was empty at 12:30 on a Thursday afternoon, and the outdoor seating area lacked shade. Thankfully there was some shaded spots outside Five Points. I can say now that I tried it, but I definitely won't be returning. The flavors are seriously lacking. read more
