Taffy's is a right of passage for kids who grew up around here. We treated our boys to ice cream cones after the hair cuts. Taffy's is an historic hot dog stand celebrating over 62 years in business. The iconic glider tables are super charming, but it was raining, so we took our cones "to go". Just remember that it's CASH ONLY.

Yum yum yum. Great food, great patio, and a million milkshake flavors to choose from! I want to eat here every night in the summer. Taffy's does a great job of handling the hoards that roll in, and despite the number of people, we got our food quickly. And it was delicious! Just a great, classic hot dog joint!

Taffy's has been around longer than I've been alive. Since 1949 Taffy's has been serving up hotdogs and milkshakes. It's changed very little over the years but has had some upgrades. There's now a large outside seating area. Their menu has expanded a lot over the years too. But today I went for the classic foot-long hotdog and curly fries with a chocolate malt shake. It was awesome.

What's not to love about Taffy's? A community staple since 1949 with over 138 flavors of milkshakes, hotdogs And the best curly fries around. Nice outdoor seating and counter service too! Nice surroundings for a sunny day. Cash only so be prepared.

Taffy's = Milkshake Heaven. It would take some critical thinking to think of a flavor that they don't have. Sitting and swaying on those wooden gliders under a canopy while enjoying a hot dog and a milkshake in the shade on a hot summer day is truly one of the most soothing forms of relaxation you can find in this life. Cash only these days is crazy though, I'm just a girl

Wether you are in for a milk shake, a burger or a hot dog, Taffy's is the place to go. The list of milk shakes is almost endless and the food menu has plenty of options and a lot of toppings. The seating is only outside in somewhat uncomfortable gliders; 2 wooden benches on a track, table in the middle and a roof. Not easy to get in or out and the wooden seats need padding. Be prepared: the only take cash!!!! The seating is on the corner of Southwestern and Orchard Park Road and the traffic is close by and loud. The day we visited it was also very windy; not easy with paper plates. The food is excellent though! I had a nice and sloppy hamburger that I topped with the free toppings: ketchup, jalapeños and caramelized onions. Just great, even though the don't ask you how you want your burger. I shared a regular side of curly fries, nice and crunchy.

I went for just a milkshake while visiting a friend in the Buffalo area, and ended up getting the fresh cut curly fries also and neither disappointed. The menu options are creative and had plenty of options for everyone. Generally I find large menus to be overwhelming but I didn't find that to be the case here because there was the option for "create your own". I created my own mix (cotton candy and marshmallow).

Curly fries with Cajun seasoning. Fruity Explosion and Cotton Candy/Marshmallow milkshake. So far so good.

And it's worth the wait. The Poked Yolk is popular with the locals, and has an extensive menu (with full-service sit-down at tables, booths or the bar, along with take-out). The menu features a broad mix of breakfast, brunch and lunch offerings centered on comfort food with a few health-conscious options. Breakfast include classic egg plates, Benedicts, omelets, breakfast sandwiches, burritos and specialty dishes such as the Keto Hash, Crab Cake Benny and Jose Benny. Sweet breakfast selections include pancakes, waffles and French toast, with more indulgent options like White Chocolate Raspberry Pancakes, Cookies & Cream Stuffed French Toast and banana-themed waffles. I was very fond of the basic breakfast, the waffle and the bacon, which appears to be more of the delicious center cut. Lunch offerings include burgers, grilled sandwiches, wraps and salads and signature items include the -- get this -- Pepperoni Jam Burger. Fascinating. There is also the Cuban Sami, Mediterranean Sami and Cali Chicken Club Wrap. Lighter options include veggie-focused omelets, salads and sandwiches. Overall, the restaurant emphasizes hearty portions, customizable breakfast favorites and twists on traditional American diner fare while offering vegetarian, lower-carb and lighter options for diverse preferences. And the service is kind and attentive. Highly recommend!

I'd never before seen sourdough croissants or cheese danishes; there's an abundance of gorgeous loaves/boules for sale. (Cheese fondue supplies! Yes!!). A baker's rack to the right sells day-old bread at discounted prices (make your own croutons!) I opted for an almond (sourdough) croissant and a small coffee; I was asked if I wanted a mug or a to go cup? I was given a beautiful glazed mug - very charming! Two things worth mentioning: There's a small seating area downstairs, and five large tables upstairs. The stairs? A polite way of describing them is, "grandfathered-in". The rise/run makes it difficult to navigate if you're in thick boots, carrying a child, or have stiff knees. The pastry had a beautiful crunch. I enjoyed the almond flavor. And then I found: cherry preserves? I'm aware that "croissant et confiture" (eaten with jam) is a standard French breakfast, but it did change the mouth feel of the treat. I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting to try something earthier and beautifully executed.

We met up with some friends about 6pm, it was pretty busy, but it's usually like post work people at the bar enjoying and camaraderie. We sat in the covered patio area, after grabbing some menus from the bar. For those new to this, you order your food at the bar if you're not eating right at the bar. The folks here that work are super kind, and I see the same two every time I come in so it's pretty consistent. The four of us ordered some drinks, burgers and a specialty flavored basket of wings. It came out pretty quickly for how busy it was. We all demolished our food, and spent a good two hours there just chatting and catching up. I'm a creature of habit and got the black and blue burger with fries. I also got the cider. My boyfriend got the prohibition signature burger with tots, and the seasonal Pumpking beer. We got the chili garlic wings and those were solid. Drowned in sauce and crispy. Our friends got the Bern burger with tots and the prohibition signature turkey burger with onion rings. They got a beer and a Cabernet respectively. I really enjoyed my cider and they enjoyed their drinks. The burgers were on point as always, and I enjoy my fries with vinegar and ketchup. Onion rings and tots were nice and crispy without being greasy. No complaints at all here. Will be back soon.

Here's where it all fell down. After placing my order, I turned my back, reading the menu. Then I heard the microwave "ding" and saw my pain au chocolat removed. Really?? (I once had a Cordon Bleu-trained pastry chef explain that croissants should never be re-heated because it ruins the scaffolding of the butter/flour feuille, or "sheets"). I then tried the various seats in the Danish-style cafe. Stool? No love: They're metal and lack cushions. Chairs at the tables were also metal.
