Grew up 5 minutes away and always went here growing up. Now that I'm older, have been taking toddler here now and then. I will never be back. After spending $11 , The "manager" denied my 3 year old bathroom access and then blamed the owners. When I told her very nicely that I understood it was not a public bathroom but please make an exception for my daughter but it was an emergency, I was blamed for basically being a bad parent and not "thinking about that before you got there.". I ended up being forced to have her pee behind the place in the woods BC of this joke of a "manager" who wanted to pass blame on the owners and a "health code issue". When I told her after I will never come back, she said "good". And she would tell the owners of my complaint. She was rude , and my 3 year old potty trained daughter was confused why i had her pee out back and not the bathroom they have there. I don't understand what others' complaints are about Custard Hut. People complain that the price is high. Try going to the boardwalk and see what you get. You will come right back here. The quality is well above average; excellent! The price... well, who doesn't want a lower cost, but the price is going price compared to any other place, and the sizes are larger. The kiddy cup is small, but you are getting a kiddy cup so of course its small! The quality is beyond compare, and anyone else that tried to open an ice cream shop in the area closed within a year because they couldn't compare. Well worth the trip again and again. read more

I have been going to this ice cream parlor/store store for years. The quality of their ice cream and their serving sizes compared to any other similar business anywhere in this area is unsurpassed. The customer service skills of their employees Is excellent. I'm always welcomed by a positive person who seems to be happy to be at work. It's worth the trip from Ocean City to go to this business because of the cistern savings and the portion sizes of their products. If you have several people in your group or more it's definitely worth the ride to Somers Point. read more

Visited for the first time tonight and loved the Reese's pieces sundae. Tons of chocolate and peanut butter sauce along with candy pieces!

I have only lived in this area for about two years. My first experience at Custard Hut was rather unsatisfactory to say the least. I ordered a mint chocolate chip milkshake and all the chocolate pieces fell to the bottom of the cup and suddenly shot up at my throat through my straw like a dart gun when I was finishing the shake. In retrospect that wasn't the real problem, the real problem was probably that I went with some loser I dated and it was really cold outside. I couldn't properly enjoy myself. This time around I went with nice friends and it was a beautiful night. I ordered blueberry ice cream which was outstanding to say the least. My counterpart wanted more brownie in her Brownie Delight but I think the average person would be satisfied with the levels of brownie presented. Additionally, I enjoyed the musical playlist on the speakers and the lights around the seating area. read more

Very disappointed in the cost of a kiddie cup. It was $3.34 for a shot glass size serving but $3.30 for a large cone. Absolute rip off. Do yourself a favor and buy a large cone and split it. Never again. read more

I go here all the time because I live close to it. I love it and it is very good, although a bit expensive, and it's cash only, but there is an ATM. I think the best thing to get that is also I think the cheapest is Water Ice. The tables are usually always clean even at night. This place is great and I recommend it to others. read more

The flavor is great. Just make the product as the pics you present and its great. The desert shall be way taller than the cone. Not like the one i recieved where i could barely see the desert. Like i said the flavor is great just meet with the portion and you have the greatest. In this area there is no competition with your recipe. And of course the attitude from management not from employees. It was attitude from a lady that ran the place. they don't sell custard, they only sell ice cream ....they advertise custard on the sign/they talk custard at the window, they shurre as hell charge for custard, three dollars for five ounces, over ten dollars a pound.....if i did it i would be arrested for fraud or deceptive advertising . . . i guess they have a lot of stupid customers read more

I would like to give better review but the portions have shrunk and the prices have increased since last year. I have not experienced any rudeness from employees. They have always been polite to me. I tried Dairy Queen last nite 6/9/16....got a vanilla & chocolate blizzard with pecan clusters. Way to many pecans and the ice cream was overly sweet. I only ate half and tossed the rest. $6.90. WOW I won't be returning there either. It used to be fun to go out special for ice cream on a warm summer night ....but it's not going to be at Custard Hut or Dairy Queen. read more
