Great news. Brunch at Doc's is awesome!!! Bad news...only offer it on Mother's Day and Easter. Oh well it was great. Standard breakfast foods with Doc's special spin on it. Kudos to the chef. Service was great and yes the Manhattan is special

Chilean Sea Bass with rice and spinach.

I was at the shore yesterday and my friend recommended Doc's Place - for the food and the outdoor deck overlooking the Marina. It was a lovely evening for dining outdoors and I enjoyed the atmosphere on the veranda. We had the Shrimp Cocktail for an appetizer - Doc's uses fresh shrimp - the shrimp were large and tender. However, they were very 'moist' - almost as if they had been stored in cold water. My friend actually used her napkin to squeeze out water and said it improved the consistency. I didn't resort to that, but did enjoy them. We shared the Chilean Sea Bass and Lobster Ravioli, which were both on the specials of the day menu. The fish was tender and quite tasty, but the star of the meal was the raviolis! Large, tender raviolis in an amazingly delicious sauce, with pieces of lobster scattered all over the dish. It was sumptuous!

Enjoying a beautiful evening meal at the deck at Doc's in Somers Point, NJ!

During the height of the summer season, while some other restaurants are unbelievably unavailable, we always love the reliable and lovely dining at DOC'S PLACE! The service is great! The food is solid! There is a full service bar! Drinks are generous! But, best of all... IF you are lucky enough to dine outside on their deck.. then you have dinner & a gorgeous harbor VIEW! Our dinner for four, was smooth! Appetizers were brought out in timely manner, we love their sashimi tuna app, and shared. Others shared the wedge salad. Our main courses followed, and I think everyone was pretty pleased. We were pretty full, but we shared dessert... warm brownie w/ vanilla ice cream! Yum! Dinner at Doc's, never disappoints!!

Great food and service. One small complaint...the chairs get uncomfortable after an hour.

So tonight with all the crazy weather we decided to get together and after my reviews of John…read moreRobert Cellars, we decided to go there tonight. We were a party of 8 and they were so nice to setup a table where we could all sit together even though it looked like they were full. None of our friends have ever been here so I let them decide what they wanted to order. We had many different tastes of wines to start from a Chardonnay, a pinot Grigio to a Shira. Everyone could not say enough of how good the wines tasted. The tables ordered charcuterie boards, a hot honey, pepperoni flatbread, margarita flatbread, pistachio pesto flatbread, two different types of french fries and a meatball martini. The group raved about the flavors of the different flatbreads. The pistachio flatbread was a great hit. No one would ever think of a flatbread with pistachios. Josh and Nick the bartender took care of us really great. We never had a wait for anything..

The pros: The menu includes several gluten-free options and plenty of shareable dishes, making it…read moreeasy to mix and match. Prices are fair, especially given the location and overall quality. The wine list offers a solid selection of both red and white wines, available by the glass or bottle, and they also serve wine flights--three 2.5 oz pours, if I remember correctly. The cons: The menu isn't posted online (see my photos for sample menus), so you'll need to be comfortable going in without previewing your options. It's also not marked for gluten-free items, so plan on asking your server for guidance. Most of the wines feature grapes sourced from California, with a few selections from South Africa and at least one Malbec from Chile. Aside from some Oakville Cab Sauvs, I'm not a big fan of California wines--so if you are, you'll likely feel right at home here.
