Nice spot in Somers Point to have dinner! We were easily able to make a reservation over the phone for a Sunday evening. Service was very fast - I think we were wrapped up with dinner right around an hour. Our reservation was for 6:30 and it wasn't too busy when we arrived but it was full when we left! I had the chicken francaise. It came with the veggie of the day, which was something I couldn't eat due to an allergy, but they were great with giving me a few other options - so I chose the broccoli. All of my food was good. I also had a glass of Prosecco. I didn't see any other kids while we were dining, but we had my 5 year old with us. They don't have an official kids menu, but they do offer a few options such as chicken fingers and fries, grilled cheese sliders, and pasta. We opted for the chicken fingers and fries, and we had plenty of leftovers from his meal. Parking was easy - they had a dedicated lot. Next time I'd love to request outdoor seating - we didn't for this visit since the weather was iffy. We did notice their outdoor seating is covered though.

Great news. Brunch at Doc's is awesome!!! Bad news...only offer it on Mother's Day and Easter. Oh well it was great. Standard breakfast foods with Doc's special spin on it. Kudos to the chef. Service was great and yes the Manhattan is special

I was at the shore yesterday and my friend recommended Doc's Place - for the food and the outdoor deck overlooking the Marina. It was a lovely evening for dining outdoors and I enjoyed the atmosphere on the veranda. We had the Shrimp Cocktail for an appetizer - Doc's uses fresh shrimp - the shrimp were large and tender. However, they were very 'moist' - almost as if they had been stored in cold water. My friend actually used her napkin to squeeze out water and said it improved the consistency. I didn't resort to that, but did enjoy them. We shared the Chilean Sea Bass and Lobster Ravioli, which were both on the specials of the day menu. The fish was tender and quite tasty, but the star of the meal was the raviolis! Large, tender raviolis in an amazingly delicious sauce, with pieces of lobster scattered all over the dish. It was sumptuous!

Enjoying a beautiful evening meal at the deck at Doc's in Somers Point, NJ!

During the height of the summer season, while some other restaurants are unbelievably unavailable, we always love the reliable and lovely dining at DOC'S PLACE! The service is great! The food is solid! There is a full service bar! Drinks are generous! But, best of all... IF you are lucky enough to dine outside on their deck.. then you have dinner & a gorgeous harbor VIEW! Our dinner for four, was smooth! Appetizers were brought out in timely manner, we love their sashimi tuna app, and shared. Others shared the wedge salad. Our main courses followed, and I think everyone was pretty pleased. We were pretty full, but we shared dessert... warm brownie w/ vanilla ice cream! Yum! Dinner at Doc's, never disappoints!!

A cozy, picturesque location offers a "greatest hits" liquor-first menu of burgers, steaks, chops with Asian-fusion afterburners. Certainly not what I was expecting but I really liked the mash-up. In an age of overly weened, focus group inspired restaurant concepts, there's always a place for a true original. Five easy stars for the Lake House.

The view and atmosphere and 5/5, absolutely beautiful…read more The people who gave this anything over a 2/5 have no conception of what good food is supposed to be: so please be mindful of reading 5/5 reviews as their drone/bot/npc opinion means nothing to those who have that appreciation and understanding of what good food is supposed to be. If you're someone looking for an elevated dining experience, namely entrees and appetizers that don't taste like bland sysco/big distributor bundles, this is not the place for you. If they are not using big distributors, then they have bigger issues to worry about because the food is honestly not good and overpriced; one shouldn't pay that much money for inferior food. The "brown butter" gnocchi dish was a 4/10 and seemed out of place with the other items on the confusing menu (no real theme or pattern to the food offered). The service was horrendous too, in case you were wondering. To the owner or managers who should have/should be doing this: go sit at every table and order food if the menu; notice the little problems at each: the chairs being too narrow on the patio (i'm not even a chud so idk how heavier folks manage this), the tables being not level, the soggy Caesar salads and appetizers falling off the cheap plates that are too small/the wrong shape for the food item....get a notepad and write down the issues. Little things like this influence your guests stay and experience and it is not difficult to fix them. There is such potential at this place and the owners need to get better, elevated, and high quality items on the menu with real chefs to see it through. I would not recommend this place to anyone, but if you're a bot you'll love it.

It has been a few years since my initial review of The Point. I gave this location four stars and,…read morein the years since, it has definitely a solid place for visitors and locals alike. Here are the positives: 1. The menu: They have a very extensive drink menu, with plenty of cocktails, including margaritas, canned drinks, and other specialty drinks. I wish they would serve more mocktails, but that's just me. 2. The atmosphere: This is an excellent place to enjoy the bayside views and hear live music, and it's even on a sunny day. 3. The service: This location has plenty of staff on hand, but you may have to flag someone down if it's busy. The food and drinks here are very good and compliment the atmosphere very well. I will say there are a couple of downsides: Cover charge: If you want to come here on the weekend, be prepared to pay at the door. The cost to come here is $5 per person, and while that may be alright for those who are vacationing here, it can become quite costly for locals. I really wish places like this offered a seasonal pass then I'd be back much more often. One of the more negative experiences I had was using the bathroom. I did have an incident at the Somers Point location where I locked the bathroom door and a member of their staff walked in on me and, at one point, banged a broom against the window. I'm not sure if any of their locations have some type of bathroom policy, but it didn't seem quite professional and felt very awkward. If you plan on using the bathroom here, make sure the door if completely locked.
