I used Frank and Custom Applications to paint my family, dining room , kitchen, hallway and my son's room. I also had them paint the baseboards, replace a small area of damaged baseboards, and paint a door and casing. The door to be painted is vinyl coated steel door which Frank knew at the time of the quote. I had several communication problems along the way-the first day they told me they would be done at 3:30 and were done 2 hours earlier. Usually not an issue but I wasn't home and had to find someone to go over quickly. The second day, a Saturday, I requested they arrive a little later than the 6:30-6:45 arrival time the day prior. Their secretary told me they would arrive at 7:30. When my boyfriend went over to let them in they had been waiting for a while and knocking. He arrived right before 7:30. They then mentioned to him they dislike working on the weekends. It was Frank who emailed me they could complete the project on a weekend. Both incidents made me feel like I was being an inconvenience to them. The back casing (facing the outside) of the door wasn't painted and the door itself wasn't painted because my boyfriend was told the paint would flake off. I've since found this to be incorrect, it just needs a vinyl primer on it first. Frank took $20 off the price for not painting the door itself, which to me does not seem sufficient. I will paint the door and back casing myself instead of calling them again. Overall, the paint looks nice but I would not use them again because of the communication issues. There was also some inattention to detail-the replaced electrical plug covers were smudged and dirty and there is paint on one of my window shutters. Updating to a 1-star review. While cleaning my home (there is a fine dust on everything, I don't think my furniture was covered) I found they broke my door alarm for the pool and removed part of my window shutter but failed to replace it or keep the hardware. Frank and Mike did a fantastic job painting the outside of our home. The process was simple from beginning to end. We had a few bumps along the way which included weather and the paint store giving us the wrong sample. Frank's eye for detail caught the color issue after applying the first coat on the front of house. He had to waste a day of his time to correct the problem. They started early each day and were finished and cleaned up by the time we returned from work. The communication throughout the project was amazing, thanks to Misty. I had used Frank and his crew for the last 4 years and up until recently, would have recommended his services, as he has done work at two of my homes inside and out. Unfortunately, some warranty work needed to be done to correct visible roller streaks that appeared after he painted the full interior of my home in January '21. In May '21, I noticed the sunlight on one of our interior walls was showing roller streaks quite prominently. I called and Frank came out to inspect the issue in June; he agreed that this did not meet his standards of quality and agreed to repaint this particular area. Unfortunately, the same type of paint was not in supply (due to COVID), however, it did become available in April '22. I have made 6-8 attempts to arrange for this work to be completed, but each time, Frank is a no-show, no-response. My last contact was in Aug. '22 when he was to come by and pick up a paint sample; Frank never showed and never called, so I call and spoke with Misty who assured me Frank would reschedule. Frank does not stand behind his work and I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

Frank and his team did an exceptional job painting the exterior of our home. During this time of social distancing they respected our space too. They came in and moved all needed plants, furniture, etc, cleaned and did a thorough prep prior to painting. Once the painting was finished all was put back. Frank did a lot of work himself paying close attention to detail. I even watched him running while he moved from place to place. He checked with us during each step to make sure all was what we requested. The cost was reasonable for the work done. And he stuck to the estimate, with the exception of some added paint we requested. It did take some time to book him, he is busy, but he takes time with each job. Used Frank and his team to do some interior painting. Specifically, requested 12 interior doors and trim to be sprayed. Frank spent a full day prepping the home and resembled a paint booth. Attention to detail was spectacular. Frank is exceptionally focused on details and the end result was better than expected. Couple of bumps along the 2.5 day project. Took .5 days longer than expected, but no worries. Frank and his foreman returned on a Saturday to finish the job. When spraying downstairs, overspray mist covered the downstairs of our home. We had just cleaned the home, but spent several hours cleaning in the nooks and crannies when completed. Frank offered to send someone over to clean up, but we felt bad. The overall end result was exceptional and we understand containing all paint mist inside a home can be challenging. Just want to be objective. The only concern was the initial price was xxx. Via email, Frank said he could do it for $100 less. When it came time to pay for the service, the $100 less via email was not honored. I would highly recommend Frank as the end result is exceptional! read more

First of all he offered military discount which was wonderful for our family. He really cares about his work and it shows. We hired this company to paint the interior of our new home. They're fantastic! Very professional, classy painters who are very honest with you about the colors you want to use; they make suggestions and point you in a direction that will give you the end result you want: Beautiful colors that all blend well, a work of art essentially. I can't say enough about this crew! They painted my son's wall a camo theme and it turned out spectacular! They used a technique to give it the blended camo colors which also gave the wall extra texture. They gave suggestions on not doing the whole room a camo color because of how "busy" it would turn out. One wall was plenty and my son loves it! I hate writing this not so good review (zero stars for their back office person), because the painters did an awesome job on our house and were courteous on the job site. My problem is the back office person. I was threatened with a lawsuit within 2 sentences of questioning an incorrect revised estimate sent by Custom Applications Painting (see screen capture of estimate) on 10/20/2015. I didn't personally negotiate the final estimate, so when the final price (at completion) didn't match the last emailed estimate I questioned (non-confrontational) the difference like any normal customer would do. I never said I would not pay the bill and I had my checkbook in hand. I just wanted clarification. Even after I emailed the estimate back to their office, the person on the phone was rude and threating. The response from Custom Applications should have been "I'm sorry, we sent you the incorrect estimate. We apologize for the mistake." All would have been Ok. I have since taken down their advertisement sign from my yard and will not tell my neighbors who painted my house. read more
