My daughter had a flat tire and took it there for them to fix. they tried telling her, her tire was un-fixable and wanted her to get 4 new tires. when she asked for a price for 2 instead they had a major attitude over it and then tried to tell her that the tires she had were not correct for her AWD vehicle when her Jeep is a 4x4 and she needed all 4 new tires. she told them to put her spare on and the flat in the back of her car and she would go somewhere that would actually help her and not fuck her over. read more

When they called me they said they wanted $934.00 so I told them I didn't have the money to fix it, so when I went to pick it up I owed $130.00 for what they call a diagnosis which I already knew what it was and the $100.00 tow, less than 1000 feet away........We customers have a word for this.....Rip Off. Avoid this shop if you can; your money is better spent on a business that is honest. I stopped in for a basic oil-change, and was told it'd be a thirty minute wait. After an hour of waiting, my car was finally brought in for the oil change. An employee approached me after about fifteen minutes and told me my Power Steering fluid needed to be changed. This would bring my total up to $180. I bought my car from a dealership last year, and have had regular maintenance since, so this surprised me. I told them to go ahead and fix the problem, and I texted my dad an update. I then found out from my father, after I paid mind you, that I ABSOLUTELY didn't need this fix. After reading other reviews on Google, it seems that I'm not the only customer that they have taken advantage of. This place is known around town to falsely claim that a vehicle needs fixes when they are just fine. They're money-hungry. But there are plenty of places around town that will treat you right, and respect you! This place ain't it. read more

Literally the worst place I have EVER EVER been to. My brother and I were headed to Florida (we were coming from Utah) and his truck broke down. Had it towed there when in the phone they said they could look at it. Come to find out it would take a couple HOURS before they could even put a damn scanner on it. We limped his truck down to the Oriellys down the street and Steven there helped us a hell of a lot more than any of the mechanics here. I went to Custom Complete Automotive on Nifong in Columbia Missouri. I had to pay 125.00 to get a diagnosis. I was told that if I wish to proceed with any work that this amount will be deducted from my total balance. I was quoted a price of over 300.00 to get the job done, and I proceeded. I got a call later in the day saying that the part that they thought would work was wrong and they need a new part that is going to cost more money. He said it would take a few days for the new part to arrive but got a call couple of days later saying the job was done. I ended up paying more that what was orginally quoted to me after the diagnostic. I googled the part to check the price of it and it was not what he said it was, basically the part he charged me almost twice the price for it. Horrble. read more

I have never dealt with such a dishonest company in Columbia MO! Our car was diagnosed with nothing wrong, but we knew something wasn't right. We took it back in when a wheel started to smoke. Calipers, pads, rotors a thousand dollars later. The engine light goes on before we even get home! Went to AutoZone to have it diagnosed again, and now it says the right wheel sensor is faulty, which is where they were just working on it! They denied any wrong-doing and then asked for 200 more dollars to fix what THEY messed up!! Went to pick it up AGAIN and the damn car wouldn't even start!! Are you kidding me with this?? We got a jump, but not once, from any employee, did we get an apology of any kind along the way. On top of that, the owner has taken zero responsibility for this fiasco. I gave my car in for an oil leak that costed 1,600 dollars. They told me it would be back the next day. This was last Monday...They fixed my oil leak and misplaced a part, causing a fuel leak. They fixed the fuel leak and misplaced something else, causing my breaks not to work. The workers there were incredibly rude and saying they dont know how to do the job, but wouldn't allow me to take my car back and go somewhere else. I was unable to get a refund. It has been over a week and I have a job and they did not give me a rental. Never go here. read more

"We don't need customers like YOU!" I've taken my car there before and have had fine experiences. Today made me never want to go there ever again. One of the men working was unbelievably rude to me. After 4.5 hours for an oil change, I go in to pay for the service and pick up my car. He tells me my total and I give him my credit card. I ask him if they figured out why the light was on in my car (I had mentioned that when I dropped it off 4.5 hours prior). He looks over to another worker and asks him if he looked at the light. He gives me my answer, not a big problem. He then proceeds to tell me I'm going to have to pay extra for this "diagnostic" that he didn't even know about until I asked about it. I'm feeling confused, and remind him he didn't know about the diagnostic until I mentioned it, not to mention it took 4.5 hours for an oil change. He then proceeds to yell at me, and say "If you don't like it, you don't need to come back. We don't need customers like YOU!" I am now FLOORED. Terrible service. Went in to get an oil change and approached an older man 40-50s at the desk. I greeted him and asked for an oil change. He replied that it will be hours before he could help me. I asked if there would be a better time for me to return he shrugged his shoulders at me. I asked if I could get a vehicle inspection and he said there was no way he could do that either. So I asked if he knew if there was another place I could go to nearby, and he flailed his arms without being specific. I left right away. I called ahead to ask how long it takes for a safety inspection and was told they would get me in and out in a hour. When I took my car there, they told me the wait would be 45 minutes to 1 hour and I waited more than 2 hours for them to even get started! Then it took them another hour and a half to complete the inspection. I had to get two new tires which I don't disagree with because I saw the tread. But -- the tire they showed me with the worn tread was one that I repeatedly returned to them to fix a pressure loss. I didn't understand how I could have that kind of wear on tires that i only purchased a little over a year ago. I suspect it has something to do with their inspection and repair work on that tire when I kept taking it back for leaks. I never received an apology and never any updates on when they would be getting to my car. People who came in after me got their cars serviced and were out of there before me! When they replaced my tires they never said what kind they were putting on or gave me any other information about the tires until I asked. I still don't know much except that they chose the tires they would put on my car rather than asking me and when I asked one of the counter guys said they were putting on tires that had a 40,000 mile warranty. Where's the warranty information? I don't even know the brand. I won't take my car back there again. read more

One star for a good customer service, one star for repair quotes. The rest of the missing stars are for bad pricing for parts, shady over estimation of need for repairs, and the overall experience. Had them service my truck for an oil change and inspection. Service was decent, but came back saying my outer tie rod ends needed to be changed to pass inspections. They quoted nearly $600 for the service and parts. I bought the parts myself for $50 and repaired it myself for free. I got the truck realigned and reinspected by custom complete auto. this time they came back and said that one of my back brake light was out, and my windshield needs to be replaced in order to pass inspection. At this point I feel they are nickel and diming me and that it will not be possible to pass inspections through them. I feel like they don't appreciate that I do my own repairs, and are just coming up with things that "need" to be fixed so I will keep coming back. If you do feel like sticking with them, then just keep an eye out for lengthy needed repairs. Don't feel obligated to say yes to any repair they come up with. Instead get a price quote with all the recommended repairs listed, then go out and get a second opinion. Especially if they throw repairs at you after paying for a completely different service. Otherwise, you can plan on paying 3-5 times the normal price for parts and $50-$80/hour for labor costs. Don't be afraid to do the job yourself, if you think you are capable. There are YouTube videos for every repair. If you are on a tight budget this can be a huge help. read more

I have received service several times and have been very satisfied with their work, their last service job turned me off and made me swear, 'never again'. They diagnosed my vehicle last month of needing a tune-up and they gave me a quote of a price over the phone. It was my fault that I did not ask them how much of the quote was for labor because it would have immediately sent red flags. I was given the diagnosis at about 10:30 and by 2:30 I called to discover that the job is done. I then find on the bill that they charged me 6 HOURS of labor because this is called "book hours", it is based on a guide of how long the job would be estimated to take for an "average" mechanic. CCA thinks that it is an acceptable practice (and they stated that this is typical and normal) to charge book hours regardless of how much time was spent on the car. This may be good if they screw up and take forever, but when they get it done in significantly less time, it is NOT acceptable to me that I get charged for time/labor when they are not working on my car (30 minutes early is one thing, 2 hours is almost $200 when you account the taxes, shop fees, etc). Now I'm a grateful as the next customer that the job was done right, done timely, and there is no argument that the quality of the technicians are top-notch. But this does not grant CCA the right to charge me whatever they want and I don't agree to just pay whatever because the car was fixed. Again, it was my fault that I didn't ask a couple questions beforehand. But this practice, despite how typical and wide-spread it may be, is a great way to siphon money and rip off the customer. I would NOT, EVER go back there because this practice ripped me off and my subsequent complaints were met with disdain. It was absolutely amazing that they dare to do this practice despite doing many other jobs with a reasonable price. It also profoundly bothers me that I need to look for another mechanic because this industry is tainted with many bad apples. read more

They replaced a part in my car, it failed in about a month and they told me I could have it replaced elsewhere, bring the part back to them and they would give me a refund. When I brought it back the guy acted confused and defensive (once he realized he was the one who told me I could get a refund under those circumstances) and eventually told me they couldn't do anything for me. After the install I had issues with my performance tune, and Thomas (the employee that worked on my car) came in on his day off to help diagnose the problem. I recently went here to get an inspection done to renew my license plates. After 45 minutes they came back to say that my car failed due to several pieces needing to be replaced with the front tires and it would be $1500 dollars worth of repairs. I took it to my family's mechanic (a very trusted mechanic) for a second opinion who passed my car and said those pieces did not need to be replaced. As a young female, custom complete tried to take advantage of me and told me a bunch of bull shit just to earn some money. Do not trust this shitty mechanic, save your money and go somewhere else. I took my car in, and they proceeded to tell me what was allegedly broken, stating that it'd cost $500 to replace. My girlfriend has a mechanic that she trusts, so I went there for a second opinion. I told them what Custom Complete said, and they did their own analysis. Their finding was a different part, and it only cost me $270 to replace. My AC has been fine ever since I got it fixed for $270. I will NEVER go back to Custom Complete. They're awful and irresponsible in at least one way, incompetence or scamming, and probably both. read more

Was a regular customer until one of the service person tried to rip me off. He quoted $900 for a timing belt replacement and replacement of the oil pump seal on an older model Camry. He claimed that the job requires partial removal of the engine and would take 10-12 hours, which is complete nonsense, considering the job itself can be done using only hand tools in 4-5 hours. I ended up getting it done at another shop in town for a third of the price. Buyer beware. read more

I really wish I could give a zero, I brought them my car for a vechile inspection and for a minor electrical problem. They don't call with updates and when you call them they have no idea what's going on with the vehicle. After three days they finally found the problem that took them another day and 700 dollars to fix. I pick it up the next day and they had broken the locking mechanism in the car and now my doors won't lock. So I take it back to them and they don't know how to fix it again. And it is still not fixed, they say they are researching the problem and will call me back. And i am u der the impression that I will have to pay for what they broke.
