I searched around for an affordable auto body shop in Santa Maria, the estimates ranged up to over $1,000. I came into Jeff's auto body shop and was given a quote for less than the any other body shops in the area. The job was completed in about 3 days and it looks great! On top of the great job and good price, the paint job has a 7 year warranty. Overall this body shop is the best in service and price. Highly recommended! See pictures below.

I went to Jaeckels Automotive after my daughter getting some outlandish diagnosis from a…read moredealership. They said brakes were dangerously in need of replacement and catalytic converter was 'trending down' and would need replacement. Jaeckels inspected the vehicle and reported that the brakes had at 20k before they even needed to be looked at and, as I suspected, the catalytic converter was fine and you can't test them to rate as trending down. I appreciated the honesty and the integrity to give the facts when we would have been accepting of brake jobs and been unaware they were not needed now. The dealership put my daughter in a state of fear because they said the brakes were so bad they were unsafe. She even postponed a trip until we could get them taken care of. Jaeckels has earned my future business and my respect for their business practice. I recommend Jaeckels without hesitation.

A Shop With A Heart & Quality Work If you're on vacation,…read moretraveling through the Santa Maria area, a local resident with an unexpected car drivability problem, or just plain looking for an honest, down-to-earth shop that provides quality work, don't fret! There is such a shop that you can trust without hesitation! For the past three years, the repairs and services on my 2012 Ford Escape and 2012 VW Turbo S Coupe have been handled solely at Rick's Car Care, without a worry or hesitation on my part about their qualifications to do the work right the first time. Needless but necessary to state, the estimate and cost of the work to be done are reasonable, not inflated. What makes Rick's Car Care stand out above other family-owned independent automotive repair and service shops? To begin with, it is founded on old-school customer service, honesty, and quality work. Something that is becoming extinct when deep-pocket corporations purchase shops from retiring owners. However, a bright light shines on the answer to this dark auto repair and service scenario: Rick's Car Care! A family-owned independent shop owned by Erick Enright and his wife, Amanda, that remains steadfast in providing great customer service and the highest-quality repairs and services to its clientele. If you are seeking honest, friendly shops that provide quality work, I highly recommend this shop not just as a John Q. Public customer, but also as a former sole proprietor and automotive technician at a local shop.

I have mixed, but mostly positive, opinions of this business. The staff seemed friendly, and I…read moreappreciate that they took the time to provide a thorough diagnosis of my vehicle. They confirmed that my spark plugs and wires were heavily worn by swapping the spark plug from cylinder 4 to cylinder 6, where the misfire followed the plug. That gave me confidence that the spark plug was the source of the issue. That being said, there were a few aspects of the experience that I think prospective customers should know about. First, the diagnostic fee was $180, which I felt was on the expensive side. I came in already suspecting that the issue involved the spark plugs and wires, so I wasn't expecting such an extensive diagnostic process. After discussing the repair with other mechanics, I also learned that removing and reinstalling older spark plugs can carry some risk on higher-mileage engines because aged plugs can seize or break during removal. Nothing went wrong in my case, but I would have appreciated that potential risk being explained before the diagnostic procedure was performed. Better communication would have gone a long way. I was also told, "I don't want to scare you into not driving this vehicle," while being encouraged to complete the repairs there. If there was a genuine safety concern, I appreciate hearing it, but I would have preferred a more practical conversation focused on the condition of the vehicle and my options rather than feeling pressure to make an immediate repair decision. Additionally, when I asked whether there were ways to reduce the cost, I was told the fuel system service could be postponed and completed later. That made me wish the recommendations had been presented from the beginning with a clearer distinction between what was necessary to address the misfire and what could reasonably be deferred as preventative maintenance. Ultimately, I chose to have the repairs completed elsewhere because I was able to supply my own parts and save money overall. Although Rick's labor estimate was higher ($468 compared to $200 elsewhere), the total repair cost ended up being lower because the other shop allowed me to provide my own parts. I don't believe this is a bad shop, and I think it's a friendly, family-owned business that performs thorough diagnostics. I'm simply encouraging customers to ask questions, understand the diagnostic costs and repair recommendations, and make the decision that best fits their own situation.

I normally don't leave negative reviews, but after multiple experiences trying to purchase a Tundra…read morefrom Toyota Santa Maria, I feel like other potential buyers should know what my experience was. I was a serious, cash-ready buyer and genuinely wanted to purchase a truck from this dealership. I live about an hour away, so dealing with this dealership meant taking time away from work and making the drive to Santa Maria. My first experience was with a 2007 Tundra. I had an appointment to come see the truck and made plans around going down there, only for the truck to be sold before I got there. I understand vehicles can sell quickly and that an appointment doesn't necessarily mean a vehicle is being held, but it was still frustrating. Despite that, I gave Toyota Santa Maria another opportunity when a 2021 Tundra Limited became available. This is where my experience became especially frustrating. I took HALF A DAY OFF WORK and drove about an hour to Santa Maria specifically to see this truck. When I arrived, the truck wasn't actually ready. It still needed to be diagnosed and go through their inspection/reconditioning process. From there, I kept being told it should be ready "tomorrow." Tomorrow came and it still wasn't ready. Then it became another tomorrow, and so on. I waited SIX DAYS because I was genuinely interested in buying this truck. Six days later, Toyota Santa Maria called me wanting to TALK NUMBERS over the phone on the 2021 Tundra. My response was basically: when is the truck actually going to be ready? At that point, discussing numbers wasn't my main concern. I had already taken time off work and driven an hour to see a truck that wasn't ready, then spent almost a week being told it should be ready soon. Before negotiating anything, I wanted to know when I could actually see and purchase the finished, inspected truck. Then, the VERY NEXT MORNING, I was told the truck was actually not going to be sold at all. Apparently, enough problems had come up during their inspection that they decided to wholesale the truck instead. To be clear, I'm glad they ultimately didn't sell me a truck they didn't feel comfortable retailing. I would much rather find that out beforehand than buy a problem. My issue is how the entire process was handled. I took half a day off work, lost income, drove an hour each way, showed up to a truck that wasn't ready, waited six days while repeatedly being told it should be ready "tomorrow," and then received a phone call asking me to start talking numbers BEFORE they had even determined whether the truck was going to be retail-ready. Then the very next morning, suddenly the truck wasn't for sale at all. After all of that, they offered me a cleaner 2019 Tundra Limited 4x4 with around 69k miles for $45,995. I was STILL willing to give Toyota Santa Maria another opportunity if they could make the numbers make sense considering everything I had already gone through. I made an offer I felt comfortable with. Instead, I was told they were firm because they already had other interest in the truck and ultimately they were only willing to offer $1,000 off. At that point, I was done. And to be clear, this review isn't simply because they wouldn't accept my offer. They have every right to ask whatever they want for their vehicles, just like I have every right to spend my money somewhere else. It's about the overall customer experience. I came to Toyota Santa Maria READY TO BUY. I took time away from my business, lost half a day of work, drove an hour each way, waited nearly a week for a truck while repeatedly being told it would be ready soon, and then was asked to discuss numbers on a vehicle that they apparently hadn't even determined was suitable to sell yet. After giving this dealership multiple opportunities to earn my business, I've decided I'll be taking my money elsewhere. If Toyota Santa Maria genuinely made an effort to make this situation right and offered me the right truck at a price that made sense after everything I've gone through, I'd be willing to reconsider my opinion and update this review accordingly. But based on my experience as it stands today, I personally would not recommend Toyota Santa Maria. If you're considering buying here--especially if you're driving in from out of town--I'd strongly recommend confirming that the vehicle has COMPLETED its inspection and is actually READY FOR SALE before taking time off work or making the drive.
