Everything was installed as he said it would be, and he made sure we understand how to work everything. His prices were also incredibly reasonable. Over the years, he has been available for phone calls when we've had little hiccups. Always friendly and happy to help make sure things are running smoothly. Recently, our remote started glitching. When he brought the replacement out, it still wouldn't work. He had the company to credit us for the broken remote and got us a great price on an upgraded remote. He then came back out AGAIN to get that set up. He could easily be charging us for all this extra work, but he isn't. When we offered to pay him for coming out and making sure the remote was set up correctly, he refused payment and said "I just want to make sure you have a working system." We have had our Control4 Home Integration System for approximately 8 to 10 years. We updated to the…read morenew CH-250 about one year ago. We have been using SureTech for the past year as the goto for updates & system management. One june-14th, 2014 our control4 system had crashed. We called SureTechs and they were able to send out a tech within two days. Richard showed up on time & completed a re-install of firmware, which was stored on his laptop from a previous visit. He re-assured us that our unit has a two year warranty and would be replaced if it crashed again at no additional cost. Upon completion of the 2-hour appointment, we asked if we needed any further updates. He stated our system was up-to-date with the latest firmware/software. He stated there's a 30-day guarantee if we should have any problems/issues. Three days later we noticed our streaming apps were missing (TuneIn, Rhapsody), which we had previously paid for with the installation of the new CH-250 unit. We immediately called SureTechs. A tech came out about two weeks later to address the problem. The night before the appointment, We were notified that we would be billed for parts/labor that were not under warranty. We agreed to those terms, knowing that we still had one more year of warranty coverage. On July 2nd, 2014, another SureTechs rep came out and re-installed the TuneIn application. He arrived one hour late, and smelled like an ashtray. However, he was very courteous & knowledgeable. Our system is back to its original working condition within an hour. He requested payment of $170 and we received an email from the president, Dan Merrill, demanding payment of $170. We called Dan to question the payment, stating that SureTechs repair on 18-Jun-2014 did not do a complete re-install, and had left out our TuneIn app. He was adamant that this was a service call, to be fully paid. Dan refused to allow us to state our case. He said, "This is not open for discussion. Do not contact me again." & immediately hung-up. We have since contacted Control-4 corporate in Utah. They are looking into this matter. My partner & I are both professionals. I am a retired Doctor & my partner is a retired software engineer. We find it unbelievable that someone in Dan's position, would treat clients in such a manner, & demanding we pay for their mistakes? What happened to their 30 day guarantee? We highly recommend when looking for a home theatre install & maintenance company, that you look elsewhere. This is not a company you would want to deal with!

Their sweet receptionist, Candy, was very helpful and a pleasure to communicate with regarding our appointments and updates along the way. Glenn was beyond accommodating to make sure our appointment worked with our schedule, very straight forward and honest about our current coverage issues, and even gave us multiple suggestions to update our home within our budget! He promised:…read more 1) The outdoor TV would be mounted to outdoor fireplace 2) It would be hard wired to the router for faster streaming 3) He would work with the landscape architect to bury all cables leading out to speakers and TV 4) He would purchase all equipment, albeit at a premium price to what I could shop it for @BestBuy, in addition to charging separately for his labor. I was not enamored by #4 knowing that I could buy an outdoor TV for $500 less and his reply was: "That's how I make my money"! Yea, assumed you made your money that's why you have your own business, but again I was paying additional labor to have it all installed. He is allegedly a home network specialist too. Yet when he couldn't get the TV hardwire to work, he quickly pointed fingers at AT&T. Well, it must be your router, because I tested my cables and they work. So he quickly brushed that problem onto me, the customer. How about a follow-up text after the job is complete? Nope! Last item, was the lack of coordination with the landscape architect. The speaker & his power wires were supposed to be buried alongside the electrical for the outdoor kitchen. This timing/coordination didn't happen and I the customer was told "well now we are going to have to conduit to the house and that's going to cost more labor". He even delivered the 30' of gray conduit and told me the customer to paint it brown to match the house. Nice touch, your mistake, make customer do it. How about, "sorry my mistake, I will paint those". He blamed it on the landscapers: "well looks like the buried those trenches faster then I thought". Uhh dude, I thought you were working with them so that wouldn't happen. He did not accept responsibility. As for the final project and delivery, his work was good enough. Eventually the landscape architect pressured him to paint the remaining conduit on the house. I think his kid did the painting of the silver conduit. The painting was ok, although he should have masked the house trim so not to get excess brown paint on the white trim. The TV and Speakers work well so the final product was a success. Warm & fuzzy he is not so as long as you are not expecting that for his higher-end price point, then you will be satisfied.
