While the grooming is ok most of the time - but not always according requests - either too short or too long - the main thing is sanitary issues and overwhelming odors. There is little parking, and what is provided is very small and awkward to maneuver in. The moment of entering Village Groomer, the stench is so powerful, I felt sick. It smells like a sewer and chemicals. I don't remember it smelling this way 20 years ago, but I remember our Bichon barely getting a haircut, though she looked fine. But my main concern was seeing the owner/groomer leave another dog on the table with the attachment around her neck while she left to assist me. What happened if the little dog jumped off the table while unwatched? Would he have hung himself? If I could give 0 stars, I would. I don't know how Village Groomer stays in business. Especially for anyone who can smell and see how unsanitary it looks.

My dog had an appointment today with Jaime and this was his 2nd time going here. I got a frantic…read morecall from Jaime stating that Oliver wasn't listening I told her I was on my way. When I got there I was talking with the receptionist which was very nice and letting get know that I was not told the first time Oliver was hard to handle and if I did know I would of not brought him back. Jaime was very disrespectful and cussing at me because I told her I was not aware of Oliver being hard to handle. I told her that he has had over 20x going to the groomers. She said I was a bad mom for taking him because he doesn't like it. So I called my old groomers in Louisville Hai Max she told me that Oliver likes to sit a lot but I have patience with him and told me to bring back your baby here which I will do the 45 mile drive. Jaime was so rude and stated you don't even want me to say what I have in my mind to you. I will never trust this groomer Jaime. The first time he went was great Jaime even said do you want me to call the owner my cousin in the hospital to tell you Oliver is bad! I have never felt so bad for my baby that he was treated this way. I did a Google review but they took it down.

For that reason, this review is a personal story. i'm embarrassed to say that the La Grange Animal Hospital was my second choice to care for our family cat, Stryker. I wish they had been my first as our family's cat would have received much better care upfront, been diagnosed accurately sooner, and possibly survived the autoimmune disease that eventually took his life (IMHA). Due to my tragic mistake, I'd advise other pet parents to choose a vet based on care and reputation rather than proximity to your home. When I realized that my original veterinarian was not able to diagnose the condition accurately after two separate visits two weeks apart, despite the Complete Blood Count (CBC) showing an alarming low level of red blood cells, and a very high white blood cell count, I took Stryker to La Grange Animal Hospital. Dr. Sheehan and her staff examined him thoroughly and , unfortunately, this time the CBC came back even more alarming (even lower results on the red and even higher results on the white). Due to her experience with cats, Dr. Sheehan recognized the auto immune disease called IMHA. Even though it was disturbing that Stryker was so sick, I was relieved that someone had a clue what was going on and knew how to treat it. On a course of antibiotics and steroids, over the next few weeks, Stryker seemed to get better and better. In the end though, the effects of IMHA were more than his 14 year-old body could handle. The disease stopped responding to steroids. We took him in to the hospital on an "ER basis" when it became apparent that he was no longer responding to the treatment. They did all they could possibly do to support him and try to get him back to health, however, he passed away that evening in the hospital. When Dr. Sheehan called to give us the news, she was very comforting. She let us know that a 14-year-old cat is the equivalent of a 90 year-old human. We realized then that we had made the right choices and there wasn't much else we could have done. I felt even better that I had at least gotten him to the right place. I wish I had just done it sooner. If you have a beloved family cat, I highly recommend that you put that cat in the care of La Grange Animal Hospital and Dr. Sheehan. She is highly experienced, very thorough, and very direct. She's very serious about what she does and very good at it. It seems to me that most veterinarians are very familiar with dogs and can take good care of them. Cats however, are a bit of a different challenge. They really require care from a veterinarian who understands their unique biology and behavior. I'm sure La Grange Animal Hospital is great for cats AND other pets, but Dr. Sheehan and her staff seem to really understand cats. If you're a cat lover, this is definitely the place for you and your pet(s)! I'd also like to mention that La Grange Animal Hospital took Stryker in on an emergency basis where there is a bit of a larger cost. Since they were unable to save him, they waived that charge out of respect for Stryker's passing. The bill at the end was simply for the supplies and drugs used urgently trying to get him back to better health. It is very clear that La Grange Animal Hospital and Dr. Sheehan are big-hearted! As a sidenote, I noticed that charges for exams, medications, and specialized foods were less costly than my previous vet charged for the same services and products . I believe Dr. Sheehan and her staff do what they do because they love the animals not because they love a big paycheck. As an animal lover, that means more to me and my family than anything else.

This concerned me a bit thinking that the dog may come back with some gruesome scar or something. The scar was very small, they were done earlier than was expected and the staff was very friendly. If you need a spay or neuter I highly recommend Lagrange Animal Hospital. Their spay price was also the most reasonable and the experience was just as pleasant.

I am very picky about who grooms my baby because some people take off too much fur and they never leave him with a round face which is personally how I prefer him. But she literally listened to my needs and did a phenomenal job with his cut. Also, I was pleased to see that not only do they sell bakery items for your dog but they also have dog food and other items that you wouldn't expect to be sold at a grooming salon. I love how clean the space was and everyone was so welcoming and made sure my baby was in and out! I think we found our new groomer! Thank you Christina! You are amazing :)

I trusted this business to heal my bunny that was loved and cared for. I took her over an hour…read moredrive (one way) for an emergency and was told by Dr. Geyer "this didn't happen over night". She never once mentioned my rabbit dying, just the intense care needed (which cost me $823.00). She died on me as soon as we got home. Thanks to Dr Geyer I will never remember anything except that this event did not happen overnight. So it was my fault for not seeing it. I never received any follow-up, not even a card. This is the only vet I've ever known to not do that. Stay away. Choose Pet365 on Anchorage or Springhust on 9909 Brownsboro Road In Louisville. Please, if you have an exotic pet, do not let "Dr." Geyer near it. All she wants is money. And she doesn't care about you.
